I really like controller support, though I've found I most prefer using left joystick to move and the face buttons to shoot, since you can only fire in the four cardinal directions anyway

I find the face buttons are spread juuuust far enough apart to make it uncomfortable when I was changing the direction of my charged brimstone-type attacks.
I'm playing on the Vita, and am really liking it so far. I never played the original. Quick question, should the r button do anything? I have these pills, but can't seem to use them? I assume they aren't a passive item.

After my 5th or 6th +movement item I was zipping through curse room doors and sometimes spikes without taking damage.

Soy milk early in the run, and I got to a point where I literally could not kill the regenerating enemies and had to just die.
I am a pro player now
That's understandable. I can't imagine the amount of manhours it would take to playtest every combination of things in this game.

yeah that run went straight to satan effortlessly
because i am a dolt who takes egregious amounts of unnecessary damage
in fact the entire soundtracks grown on me faster than the original
you can exhaust your entire pool of possible items until the game just has to give you breakfast over and over
the end results look like this
