Yeah, I think part of the charm of Review is that it's an ordinary-ish man gladly and willingly encountering totally unbelievable circumstances without backing down
Yeah, once again, it's probably because the couple episodes of the Australian one I had seen felt really plausible, so I was hoping for the same from the U.S. version (and the Australian episodes I saw may have just been somewhat more realistic than normal).
I will definitely keep watching when the new season hits though; I just hope they tone down both Forest and the scenarios a tiny bit. I like the pancakes episode a lot because it made sense that people on twitter would ask for really inane stuff, and that he would commit to it. It was stuff like going to space, running from the law, and there is all aching that I felt stretched just a little too far and resulted in some gags that didn't really land for me.

I usually don't like shows that end in nicely wrapped up perfect little bows... I find it cheesy boring and super unrealistic but for some reason Parks finale didn't bother me at all.
Maybe because I hate open ended finales and they gave me everything I could ever want to know about how these characters will end up and I loved that.

I'm not a big fan of flash forward endings, to be honest. I think my favourite sitcom finale would be the Scrubs one from the 8th season (after Blackadder, of course). It ended on such an amazing note of hope and optimism without being sappy. The future is completely open and any ending you can imagine for these people is possible.
To me, this will always be infinitely more powerful than telling you exactly where everyone ended up. Especially after, as Pooro said, we just had an entire season that was basically a flash foward ending.
Also, I'm not sure what Jim O'Heir meant when he said this has never been done before in a sitcom. Literally less than a year ago, How I Met Your Mother went for the same kind of ending, though much less successfully.
I'm not saying I didn't like the finale. It would have been impossible for all these characters' final goodbyes to not be touching. I just think I liked all the other finales they did more.
QUIET YOU!
All that totally happens to JD and Turk and the rest of the gang!
well one thing about the parks finale that's getting overlooked are the little hints that shit gets kinda fucked, society wise
like, the state of Washington apparently abolishes math as a subject, and we "run out of beef" and america is now the "corporate states of america" (though that last one might be a throwaway joke more than anything)

One of the trick or treaters Andy gives candy to is dressed as Star Lord, and the champagne given to Craig and Typhoon in the future has "Jean-Ralphio" on the label
Also
Apparently the guy who wanted the swing fixed was the Drunk stuck in the slide in episode 1

This just keeps getting better.
It probably says a lot about Jon Daly that I look at those two pictures and the one on the right I immediately think "yup thats Jon Daly" and it's the one on the left that I have to squint and think "is that Jon Daly?"

I'm pretty sure the last one was the guy using hyperbole

You'd think Ron would have had a reaction somewhere to that middle one

Holy hell, all the clips of Last Week Tonight on their YouTube channel have at least 1 million views, some getting up to almost 10 million
That was a very smart choice for HBO

So I'm catching up on Tumblr and I came across Ben Schwartz's Parks farewell post
He tags it with almost all the actors' and characters' names, but also with "#guardians of the galaxy #indiana jones #lego movie"
And I realize he is a comedian and might be making a joke, but he also personally knows Chris Pratt and would probably know if there's any truth to the rumors
And if I were writing a really sentimental post I'd probably tag it as such so that someday when someone's browsing superstar Chris Pratt, most known for his role as Indiana Jones, they'd find this heartfelt post I made about a low-rated sitcom we were both on and see how much it meant to everyone involved
Or he doesn't know anything and he digs the rumor, but that's just where my mind went

And it's a stone cold classic

It was probably my favorite singular thing I watched all of last year.

It was a good wrap up to the show. Last episodes can be hard to do but I like the way they tied up everything and didn't leave us wondering.
That being said, it was EXCESSIVELY positive but that's alright.

You should watch the finale (I'm pretty sure there was only one episode left after that one), it ends on a somewhat good note.
Apparently an Arrow/Flash spinoff is being developed featuring

I'm really going to miss this show and its overwhelming optimism.
