This is the thread for general 3DS discussion. To keep the conversation from getting too busy, try to look for other threads before posting about something in here. For example, the
eShop Thread is a good place to talk about Nintendo digital store. Big game releases like Mario Kart or Zelda also tend to have their own threads. There's no hard rule against discussing those games in here, but this is a nice place to talk about smaller titles that would be unable to sustain their own threads, and obviously those larger games can easily crowd everyone else out. Finally, don't be discouraged from making game-specific threads if you feel it warrants attention. This is sort of a catch-all thread.

Free games via Club Nintendo:
Nintendo is now allowing players to buy download games for their Wii, DSi, and 3DS via the Club Nintendo website. All first party games, and some third party titles, offer codes that you can enter on the official Nintendo website. Fill out a survey and earn coins (and an additional follow-up survey for extra coins). The coins can buy a variety of posters, cases, and various neat stuff. But the games are where it's at. Every month, Nintendo is offering up four games to download.
Featured Applications:
Nintendo Video: A free download app that randomly adds short 3D movies to watch. Blue Man Group, College Humor, and Dreamworks have all contributed.
Netflix: Link your account to your 3DS to watch (2d) movies on the small screen.
Hulu Plus: Just like Netflix, link your account to watch TV shows on the go.
3D movie recording: Record up to 10 minutes of 3D footage and upload it to youtube.
Game demos: Download demos of upcoming 3DS releases.
System Transfer: Transfer information from an existing DS, DSi, or 3DS to a 3DS. Great for when the inevitable redesign hits the scene.
A full list of additional built-in software can be found on
Nintendo's 3DS site.

There was an update that added additional hats that you can buy with points you get from the other various streetpass games.

In the several years I've owned a 3DS I only just beat Find Mii for the first time literally 2 days ago.
I've had my 3DS XL since about December 2013, and I have yet to get past the third room on find Mii.
Switch: 6200-8149-0919 / Wii U: maximumzero / 3DS: 0860-3352-3335 / eBay Shop
I make it a point to pass by Best Buy at least once a week for a few streetpasses, and the Wal-Mart I visit most often is right next to a Home Depot, where I often pick up a few streetpasses while parking.
I got a streetpass while out at lunch today, I think from the cashier at Jimmy Johns, but I'm not entirely sure.

Let's Plays of Japanese Games
I'd pay Nintendo up to $300 for this package if they offered it to their US audience.

So what are people's though on the New 3DS C-stick? I found it a little strange due it it's size when I tested it.
Steam / Origin & Wii U: Heatwave111 / FC: 4227-1965-3206 / Battle.net: Heatwave#11356
Whenever my finger/hands get a little clammy, the c-stick hardly seems to respond to my touch.
This is especially bad cause it almost always happens when i'm fighting a monster in MH. I then end up having to use the L targeting or my nails on the stick until I get a moment to do something about it.
I've tried three cards, but the console doesn't see any of them? I'm stuck with a 16 gig card that barely holds my games.
I have. Did you format the card to FAT32 on a PC first?

I take my 3ds with me to work and errands but it took me I think 2 months to beat find me since I was not bothering with streetpassing until like a month or 2 after I got the machine
You'll undoubtably enjoy Untold 2 when it comes out too then

Dark rooms are a bitch, but there's a relatively easy way to get past them, and the only time I ever use play coins in Find Mii. You can use play coins to hire old heroes (i.e. people you've streetpassed with in the past). Hire two that have white shirts, even if they're level 1 two together will get rid of the darkness and let you continue. I think this is only the case with Find Mii 2 though. With the first Find Mii game I don't think you can so you'll just have to hire wandering heroes and pray you get two white shirts in a row.
Also, yea Streetpass has been super effective over the years in making sure I take my 3DS with me almost everywhere. Smart move by Nintendo doing it. The puzzle pieces. Gotta catch em' all.....
Now I'm at a smaller private college. I got zero streetpasses my first semester and just stopped trying.
Yes.
Both my computers only offer exFAT, so I tried a couple different programs mentioned in guides to format to FAT32.
Which brand/model card are you using?
Resident 8bitdo expert.
Resident hybrid/flap cover expert.
I have no idea why
Now Mc'ds here is pretty much a given for street passing but Home Depot and Best Buy are not? I have no idea why
My brother has DFTBA
I might change mine to Die Laughing but I will probably be forced to change it
The Best Buy closest to me is notorious for having bad wifi. And sometimes the wifi will be up but broken.
Your Home Depot doesn't work for streetpasses? I went there a lot last year during home renovations and I was practically drowning in them.
I'm currently using a SanDisk Ultra 64GB MicroSDXC card.

You get streetpasses because of the places that have the streetpass relay like the McDonalds. They randomly pair people up. Most of the time I get streetpasses from my country (canada) but every so often I'll get one from Russia, etc.
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
Nintendo's support webpage recommends using this program, since it's apparently the "official" way to format SD Cards.
When formatting, choose the "FULL (OverWrite)" option.
That Etrian Mystery Dungeon looks a fair bit different from this one, but it looks like it might be up my alley as well.
Is Untold 2 another remake?
It's no where near a Mc'd or ATT Wifi so I have no idea why I am getting them
Untold 2 is a remake of Etrian Odyssy 2.
