I bit on Marvel's black friday/cyber monday sale on Marvel Unlimited. Seems like a safe bet I can get a decent amount of value out of that for a year of commute reading. I just need to remember to switch out which issues I have loaded up when I have access to the wifi at home or at work. I've read a good amount of Marvel over the years but there's certainly some stuff I just never explored.
Going to start off with something short like the Uncanny Avengers stuff, but I think I'm going to do a deep dive on Captain America. I only caught a bit of the late 80s run with the Watch Dogs and Walker but I liked that stuff.
Just need to pick a prime starting point.
akajaybay the place to go is Brubaker's first series, Captain America (2004-2011).
I have actually read a good amount of Brubaker's run, but I never finished it out. I only made it just shortly post Civil War when the switchup happens. I haven't read the back half yet.
It should be noted that Batman turns his head in that clip and we don't see costume material bunch up in weird ways or anything, so either they've finally cracked the code on making a skin-tight cowl that looks good or it's some CG trickery.
There you go! There's a positive thing you can say! "Batman can super turn his head in this one!"

I recently heard the costume designer who made the suit on 99% invisible, and it sounds like it might indeed be some next level shit
I'm happy it's Montreal because Origins being kinda sloppy game play wise could have easily been because it was a somewhat rushed Berean stopgap for the franchise but it had so much better writing and atmosphere than anything Rocksteady did that I am way more comfortably with them handling other DC heroes
I would absolutely be into a show-set Arrow game on the Arkham engine.
You could probably do a mostly 1-to-1 port of Arkham Knight. Felicity for Alfred, Dig for Robin, Arsenal for Nightwing. Deathstroke can replace the Arkham Knight, use other villains from the show, have a random "cross-over" side mission with the Flash and in the end Cisco upgrades your bike or something.

Wait, what? I've been wanting to play Arkham Knight for a while on PC, but have been holding off on fear of massive bugs and terrible demons.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
You still have a month to get a full refund if you bought Arkham Knight on Steam, no questions asked. They put out their patch and it's still broken in a lot of ways for a bunch of people, then they immediately went "so if you want your money back now it's okay we understand".

Try it, if it's buggy or runs badly, get your money back. There's no real way to see if it'll run well as machines that match the recommended reqs sometimes run it like butts and other people with "ok" machines run it fine. For my part it was pretty good, just the odd stutter here and there once I tinkered with a pagefile setting in windows to spoof some more memory.
why it doesn't work for some on PC and does work on a console that is essentially a pc is a mystery.

i recently finished season 3 of arrow. that ended in a surprising place!
also, action laurel is the funniest thing and there's no way to not feel horrible in saying it like this but i really enjoy how much she gets beat up in her crime fighting compared to everyone else

What I heard is a combination of how Arkham Knight, while being developed primarily as a PS4 game, ran like shit on PS4 up until a couple months before release, where they had to scramble and do last-minute optimization that was hard to port over
combined with how they delivered the full game for porting to Iron Galaxy really late in the process so they had way too tight a deadline to produce the PC port.
Every time they release something new regarding Batman v. Superman, the better I feel about my decision to probably never see it.
I mean if it's streaming on Netflix and there is some giant black hole in my day and I have absolutely nothing else better (or literally anything at all) to do, and I'm feeling particularly morbidly curious, then sure, maybe. But, barring a deluge of fantastic reviews, that's pretty much the only way I can see myself watching this movie as currently advertised.

Counter: I'm going to watch it twice. In the theatre opening day. Because Im avoiding absolutely everything else.

I still don't know how anyone thought that 2months was going to be enough time to stick the landing on a port. PS4 must have been really really broken to hold onto the code for so long. At the end of the day I feel bad for Rocksteady though, it can't have been easy shouldering the blame for the publisher's actions in kicking it out the door unfinished.

I mean Iron Galaxy got the rawest end of that deal, really. And they're also an independent studio, unlike Rocksteady.
A friend of mine did some special effect and concept art work for BvS so if he wants to go see it I'll tag along. He's dropped some hints about stuff that I've not seen any mention of thus far, which has me faintly hopeful, but on the other hand he likes Man of Steel, so :?
He's not with that company any more though, so with any luck it won't be an issue.

Didn't look. I don't have those on my wishlist because I basically assume I'm getting all Marvel properties anyway.
The cast is great. It's just the director and writer (and studio executives) that are the problems
I could do without that weird texture on Batman's suit but I don't mind it otherwise

Superman wouldn't reveal Bruce's identity to these kneeling mooks if he was doing the right thing.
This is either some kind of nightmare/what-if/not-real cop-out, or this is gonna be possibly the worst superhero movie of all time.
That would mean Lex Luthor knows Batman's identity.
Which, again, I wouldn't put past them but that's not encouraging either.

We'll see when it comes out I guess
Awesome!
Arrow and *rolls dice* Nightwing.
Do it

Guess they'll have to take care of him.
And Rocksteady is probably preparing their Superman game for 4 years from now, so Arrow would actually fit pretty well for the other one.

It'd be awesome.
Or a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle adventure starring Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk.
Or Aquaman vs Lovecraftian horrors.
I'm not much of a DC guy, but I'd probably check that one out.
The Arkham Knight PC port is done, I think. They've given up on it.
Yes please

Only the difference here is it really does appear that BvS will be entirely about that conflict.
