I took a pretty serious look at that on Amazon the other day trying to find something to watch. (I watched Southbound again instead)

I guess if it has the AJ stamp of approval I'll have to check it out.

Probably one of Meg Tilly's best performances ever. But yeah...what a fucking weird movie.

    She is pretty excellent.

I really appreciated the nuanced portrayal of the scumbag lifestyle, it really resonated alot with me.

Did anyone ever see the movie Antiviral by Brandon Cronenberg? I remember liking it well enough, but I don't think he's made any films since. Came out almost four years ago so I wonder what he's been doing.

I haven't laughed, and I mean really laughed, in a while but that video did me in.

Harrison Ford cursing at magicians is all I want in my world.

Blair Witch is getting poor early reviews

    I was worried about that

I really hate the new hollywood model of "Find a talented director and make them work on the biggest name property you own"

I don't pay a lot of attention to critics and reviews in general but I really don't pay attention when it comes to the horror genre.
Now that's not saying Blair Witch is good but I've liked so many horror movies that were critically panned.

Neither of the movie's he's done so far really seem to fit that sort of thing

Well the original wasn't critically panned...

The original is a moment in time when the concept was new enough that people actually thought it was real for awhile and that jacked the hype train way up on the movie and made it a lot scarier for people.

In other words, just doing the same thing over again, even if you're updating it with modern technology in mind, it's not enough. Hence the critical panning.

Definitely possible. I didn't get the same vibe from the trailers for the sequel as I did from the original.

I'm in no way defending Blair Witch 2 just saying a few bad reviews doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.

    It's probably bad though.

The Mist is why my father doesn't let me pick movies anymore if we ever go to the theater together.
