Got our wedding caterer's updated menu, and poutine is no longer on it.

They will be specially making us some god damn poutine for our wedding.

It is very much in vogue back home to have a midnight snack buffet, but especially one that includes a poutine station

After a night of open bar, it's perfect

Fuck, I gotta see if there are any Canadian bars down in Kaohsiung like there used to be, see if I can get some damn poutine.

Pretty sure they won't have the legit curds though, probably just cheese and gravy.

Does it matter a great deal if a person were to replace the cheese curds with say bocconcini that had been chopped into smaller chunks? Because I can do chips with brown gravy and bocconcini cut up smaller. I'd probably even add in some shredded roast beef...
It's REALLY good with fried cubes of haloumi. Especially if it's chilli haloumi.

We'll be having a range of stuff circulating, served over 3 or 4 hours. A couple of hearty options, some snackier stuff.

    Final menu choices:

    Poutine
Chicken, spring onion, lime, chilli and coriander noodles
Pinchos Marunos - spanish pork with garlic, paprika and cumin, apparently? Sounds tasty
    Cheeseburger sliders
Pulled pork and apple gravy roll
    Pumpkin and parmesan risotto bites
    Salt and pepper squid
    Gourmet sausage rolls
    Jalapeno poppers
    Sushi

Should keep everyone happy, and if not, who cares? It's our day, and it all sounds freaking delicious to us.

Not to worry, just get yourself a Fray Bentos and heat it up yourself. You can order a whole box of them at a time if you'd like, they last for ages in the cupboard thanks to those tins.

the one time i visited canada it was quick and i would not have wanted to try poutine if i'd had the option but now that i'm less picky i hope i get to try some proper good poutine at some point.

I am in Taiwan, I have never been able to receive stuff here.

There might be some up in Taipei, but definitely not down south where I live. Easier to just pick up some offal at a traditional market and do my own than to take the HSR to Taipei.

I think dogs are allowed in national parks in America if they are within 50m (but in your ridiculous moon units) of a main road. I know this when I was climbing when we went to places known as dog crags which are next to roads.

    But obviously double check this.

That's really surprising that Amazon don't deliver to Taiwan! There must be some reason for it, because that's a decent-sized market they're losing.

I would rather have fries come as is (so just with salt) then eat them with ketchup

That's not to say I discount all fry toppings/dips, I just don't like the taste of fries dipped in ketchup.

No moon units here Blake - we're getting married in the Boranup Forest, 15 minutes out of Margaret River.

We're heading down to the venue tomorrow for our -6month anniversary (negabianniversary? whatever) and we've been getting along pretty well with the people that manage it so we may just see what we can suss out.

I've become a fan of vinegar on my fries as I've gotten older.
