Dragged Into Sunlight would be perfect if they just stopped doing 2 minute noise intros with serial killer interview sound clips at the start of their songs
Holy shit the Legacy of the Beast is a great fucking show. We saw them on Tuesday at the KeyBank center in Buffalo. 18 of us chipped in on a private suite and it was worth every cent.
The show itself was easily the best Maiden show I've ever been to (my 10th I think...). The stage production was top notch and they sounded incredible. Bruce's voice has never been better.

Shit, can I get the scratch together for a trip to Denver with just 2.5 months lead time?

Checked my schedule and the class this conflicts with is very easy to skip (it’s a film screening) so now the question is whether or not the guy I’d go with can make it work with his work schedule.

Nearest King Diamond show for me is on a day I'll definitely have off and only about 65 miles away. I might be able to see this one.
One thing I miss about living in Los Angeles was how many bands played in its vicinity. On the other hand, 65 miles away here is probably the equivalent of 15 L.A. miles in travel time.
A lot of people were mentioning the proximity to the Slayer gig. No problem for me, King Diamond, Idle Hands and Uncle Acid all the way! I've got the credit card armed and ready to swipe once the tix go on sale.

Going to again say that the new King Gizzard album rules. The singles that came out are some of the weakest parts, IMO. "Superbug" and "Perihelion" are the two highpoints for sure. I wouldn't say it's their best, but this is definitely in their top 5 albums of the 15 they've released.

Just saw them Sunday in Seattle. The new material absolutely crushes live. Great Chain of Being definitely was a prelude to songs like Superbug and when they played Great Chain third song in, the pit freaking EXPLODED.

The Palladium tickets are ridiculously tiered out for this show. The 'front floor' sections are now $75 each while the 'rear floor' sections are $40. I'll grab two of the latter, for my wife and I (or whoever ends up going when she drops out), but I can't see myself paying anymore than that. Nevermind any of the VIP tier tickets. Usually it's just general admission, Balcony and VIP without these extra sections.
I'm sure I can think up a few dozen more, that was off the top of my head. Not a ton that sound EXACTLY like The Morningside, but in the same ballpark at least.
Great, creepy black metal record from Austria. Pretty raw stuff but has a lot of musical quality to it that contrasts nicely against the vile vocals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KivUqaoq_ag
Looks like a video for Great Old Ones, also lovecraftian inspired and really good!
So Alestorm has announced a Canadian tour this fall. Tickets go on sale today. On the one hand, I don't like their music at all and have never managed to make it all the way through an album of theirs. But I also kind of want to see how absurd they are live. What do?

Me likely, and looks like they already have a tour setup for next year with Omnium Gatherum and Seven Spires. Fun support choices, For those not familiar Seven Spires is a (primarily) progmetal band with a female singer named Adrienne Cowan. She got some exposure this year as a vocalist on the Avantasia world tour, signing everything from Candace Night's parts to Mille from Kreator's verse on Book of Shallows.

Her growls still have some rough edges, but there's quite a bit there to like from a versatility standpoint.
I got that tour notification as well. It's literally not until next March. I guess as an international band it makes sense to book so far in advance, but it's still strange to see a concert listing for a 620 person venue being booked seven months out.
Crunching numbers, I just can't get enough together to hit the Denver or Dallas.shows, so no KD for me :P
As a consolation though I was gifted a ticket to Avatar and Babymetal. Only draw back is its the day before Battle Beast, Sonata Arctica, and Kamelot. I will be completely knackered heading to work the Wednesday after both of those shows.

Super cool Swedebroz.

I posted the Swedish version the other day. I'm finding it far more engaging than "Heart in Hand".

You probably already know Swallow the Sun. October Tide? Rapture? In Mourning? Draconian? Insomnium?
See you there, haha.
Right on!

Draconian's the only one I don't actively listen to. I'll give them some time this morning.
Being able to see Iron Maiden and then King Diamond in the same year is pretty nice.

Preordered that, as well as the new Gatecreeper and Exhumed.

Two tickets for King Diamond acquired.
I love Alcest in general, but they definitely brought the riffs out for this new one.
