Bo3 is definitely better than bo1's if you can afford it. What you picked during draft is probably more important than how you made your decklist, I like to record myself drafting to see what how I could have drafted better.
2-3 isn't bad magic is pretty random. That said, chain to memory, sleep of the dead, callaphe, and omen of the hunt aren't great cards imo, and relentless pursuit is basically a green divination you've got 29 targets.
I like to watch ben stark on twitch he goes into a lot of depth for drafting and playing limited.

I've heard him talk highly of deathsie and legenvd also, I've only watched a little of legenvd he seems ok, a bit slower, I'm not a fan of twitch streamers tbh so I don't know how good they are.

Best of 3 is a much better game, but it's such a commitment, time-wise.
I end up almost exclusively playing Bo1 just for convenience.
I want to save my weekly XP quests until the new battlepass hits but still do my daily quest, so I made a black deck with 1 and 2 drops with some deathtouch and 4 Knights of the Legion. Just so I could make the game last a while and cast some black spells for my quest.
First game I go against a white lifelink deck and my heap of garbage actually wins me the game...
So apparently, if you control certain permanents, Altar of the Pantheon has extra text? Certainly came in handy a couple of times, not just with Heliod (rude) but also Renata.
So, from having 500 and some odd change in gems, Cube let me get enough gems to buy the Theros mastery, and am 1700 gems on my way to Ikoria mastery.
I'm sorry, I'm new to Arena, but isn't the reward for winning Cube Sealed just your entry fee back?

There aren't a lot of worthwhile hexproof creatures to mutate - at least, Dream Trawler doesn't need a mutation to kill you, and Spellbreaker only has it half the time. I could see potentially mutating a Paradise Druid with something that has vigilance, but that's already happening in Aura decks with Sentinel's Eyes.
Plus at least now every deck can just pack a Shadowspear.

Best feeling in the game for me is running up against a mill deck that during the mid game pulls a flood of consecutive lands out of my deck and puts them into the graveyard. "Why thank you sir."
At least there's plenty of card options to peek and at least try to get some control of what's incoming.

Well, yeah, I was very much thinking of the Paradise Druid aura decks. Or the hexproof merfolk token decks that were all over the recent historic pauper event. There are plenty of people who love their buffed hexproof creatures, and there will certainly be plenty trying it with mutate in coming weeks.
edit: I should note that I spend more time in Play than in Ranked lately, as the high-end Ranked meta is incredibly uninteresting to me right now.
Well I ended up picking up that $50 preorder. the Godzilla special art was just too damn sexy. Never thought I'd ever spend this kind of cash on a card game.

Just be glad you're not playing the paper version. $50 won't cover the mana base for some a lot of standard decks.
Drafting with players and then playing against those from other pods seems like the best you could do for an online client without requiring people to stay in the event for all the playthroughs.
I don't know why it still bothers me but playing against someone else's draft deck knowing they had different packs is just... odd.
At least playing against people will help fix the weird bot picks that were happening (i.e. top tier removal still there after pick 7)

Anyone have any idea what the hell is up with gates decks still in the Play queue?
Like I don't think I've ever had a day of playing normal Play queue without running into jank ass gates decks.
It's real weird.
I also wish I knew if my opponent just did this move for the memes or if they did not realize what was about to happen.
I had 7 little dudes out. 1 of which was a Teysa and 2 of which were Cruel Celebrants. And they cast Tamiyo then searched for gates ablaze.
And well... I mean they hit their gates ablaze alright but...

Yeah but you can't mutate any multicolored creature since the ability targets. No Stonecoil Snapdax.
There's a lot of info there, but the long and short of it is there will be 3 draft modes with bo3 now having a gold entry option
bo1 with bots same as always for 5k gold
bo1 with players for 1500gems/10k gold
bo3 with players for 1500gems/10k gold but now only 3 matches
so the downside is more expensive entry costs, but much larger prize pools for player drafts
I'll just listen to Limited Resources at this point. Which I already did but now I don't have a reason to look elsewhere.
