Dude the other day I was trying to think of people I knew that were funnier than me. I could think of like possibly two people, that's it, and they were still a little shaky.
dangerou-
on the looks front, it's incredibly pretty. nice traditional campus feel and it's a botanical garden.
they're in the process of building a journalism super-building costing many many millions of dollars. it should open.. sometime. i think by the end of the year. everything i've heard about it indicates that it will be an amazing place.
the faculty is pretty top notch. there is a huge amount of experience in there. the school is really best for newspaper/broadcast journalism, but the magazine folk are pretty good as well. you'll get a lot of good experiences there, too, because the school runs one of the two daily newspapers for the city of columbia, owns the local nbc affiliate, and runs a couple of magazines.
the biggest problem with it is the lack of opportunities outside of the school, as it's not particularly near a big city.
to be clear, the only reason i went there was because northwestern turned me down. i've grown to really love missouri, though.
Ahhh nice. We just got a new JMC building here and it's pretty damn nice as well. A large three story entry room with a dozen or so couches, and about a dozen more comfortable chairs, as well as various office desks, all focused on a giant wall of 9 plasma screen TVs each tuned into a different news station w/ subtitles. The middle TV, CNN international, has the volume up. Ah, I spend a lot of my break time there.

It seems like every semester there's always one or two classes that I end up completely blowing off, only showing up for exams. Nevertheless, at the start of every term, I always tell myself, "This will be the semester where I go to my classes!"

Yo.
Hey you should be flattered to even be in the discussion, man.
College is taking me forever because I keep dropping out to find myself.
For me it was transferring...
"Oh what's that? You're transferring from CSUSM? GREAT! Okay let's see you had about 85 credits there, looks good. Hmmm, yeah we'll let you transfer 15 of those!"

So fucking weak.
Yeah that happened to me, too.
And apparently D+'s from another institution suddenly aren't good enough!
that's why i'm getting most of my mandatory stuff done at a community college
it makes me feel like an idiot to tell people i go to community college, but then i just think "well i'm an idiot who isn't spending a shitload of money i don't have at a university anymore"
I'm going to the University of Amsterdam.
We don't really have those big differences in quality between universities here, they're all pretty good,
But then again things like that is why we pay so much taxes.

i know, right?
it's infuriating
Well it's always in the last place you look.

College is rad.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
If you go for a year or two years at some shitty in-state community college and do well, you can transfer pretty much anywhere you want with virtually no other requirements. If you're smart and plan ahead, most if not all of your credits will transfer over, which means you don't pay through the nose to take bullshit courses like English Composition at your uppity ideal destination, while still getting the same diploma you'd get if you spent a small fortune doing so.
I suppose a company might be able to dig up the fact that you did this with enough searching...but I don't think I want to be employed at any company that would both go through the trouble to check this, and not hire me because of it.

Last semester I went to school three days a week, and one of those days was to take a yoga class.

The minimum you need to do to get a B in your average college class is laughably easy, and I say that as a guy so lazy he probaly did less than 5% of his public school homework. You just have to put 5 minutes of thought into reading the syllabus the first day, then figuring out what's important for the class and what is skippable.
Any class with actual work required? C's and D's get degrees...and there are so many throw-away mandatory gen ed classes that any impact they have on your overall GPA should be minor.
The only way this isn't the case is if you attend a difficult college or choose a difficult major....and in that case, it's as easy as transferring to your closest state college or changing your major, and the problem is solved.

I am doing this but two years before I can even officially apply for University
TFS, do you know what you plan to major in when you go to college? I'm just asking because as an engineering student, I found the bullshit university requirements classes to be much easier than my regular ones, helping to keep my overall GPA higher. Also, the engineering classes are only about 5-10% female, so taking a non-mathy class every quarter gave me something to look at other than a bunch of sweaty nerds like myself.

Thankfully I've been in college for 2 years now and it doesn't matter what I got.
someone strike my ego while I'm gone
no specifics, just general stroking
Well shit, there it is on the left.
I did well the first time, then signed up again, and as I woke up on 6:00 the morning of the second test I thought "what the FUCK am I doing?"
Still, went and improved my score. Not going back. Ever.
i know, right?

Well, I got a 730 on verbal and 800 on math, and I'm planning on going to an engineering school, so screw that.

exactly!
Also the semester ends in a few weeks. I don't actually know how many weeks though.
Sounds familiar.

It's ok though, because I made the Ultimate Frisbee team. First game of the year is against Rice.
