Dang, a new booster dropped? I should probably get that. Although I just got back from a funeral where I was hugged by approximately two hundred rural Republicans, so that particular ship might have very recently sailed.
I've still not gotten covid and my last booster was October so I'm pretty eager to get this one.
It will be my third shot total thanks to the stupid one shot J&J and only one previous booster allowed.
Someone was very sure they could best someone at arm wrestling yesterday.
They were so sure, they put $20 on the bet and did it on the production floor, in the middle of the shift.
They were so wrong, their arm broke.
And so they lost their bet, their functional arm, and their job.
Arm wrestling was explicitly banned at my first software job and this is why.
It was after hours and I believe those involved were drunk.
I am sure the office management and HR teams had a wonderful time.
I am slowly realizing people take arm wrestling significantly more seriously than I do
I'm thinking a big part of it is not appearing weak, stemming from the same brainpoison that makes people challenge others to arm wrestling constantly. That and poor form.
If you are losing, you should tap out. But, people can't look weak! I gotta win! So they keep trying, and with your arm bent back like that, all the force is applied to like the midforearm and snap.
It's absolutely about the macho act.
My alternative has always been drunkenly asserting that I am strong enough to give people a piggy back. I am 5'3" and weigh like 120-130 lbs.
They never believe me until they let me try. I am lucky to have not hurt my back yet.
Today at the office I discovered that my company also worships The Pod and I am currently sitting inside one right now. I gotta say I’m impressed by Pod’s soundproofing.
Comfort-wise it’s not bad but I wish I could control the temperature.
I will use physical violence to stop them putting me in their fucking corporate pods

So I could in theory obey the "come into the office" but still never have to actually talk to anybody? And I could listen to my music without needing headache causing headphones?
Good news, my weekend curry is finished, although slightly burned to the bottom of the pot. I could not play at the arcade because people were shooting nearby.
But I have not been forced to install a corporate catheter to use their pod. Because that is the solution to bathroom breaks
I'll second the Monoprice monitor arms. I use one of their dual arm Workstream and it's excellent. I think it's the exact same thing that Fully sells for a significantly lower price.
I just dumped 227 grams of course ground coffee and doubled the water ratio to over a liter because 500 ml doesn't look like it would cause enough of a bloom.
