There's something funny about watching someone dive on to a landmine that they placed.
Meanwhile we've had to boot our newest(and third overall) tank this tier because he decided to go lock himself to m4s midweek because a buddy promised to give him the weapon coffer if he went and cleared with them instead. And in the same night the other healer decides to quit wholesale because it's his first raid tier and he wanted to try savage but kept dying Midnight Sabbath and he ended up too tilted to want to continue raiding. Fuck's sake.
Lmao damn. Midnight? If you have a shotcaller that ones basically free for the other 7.
whyd he want the weapon so bad anyways, what was he gonna do with it, clear m4s?
And then we got a sub tank and healer for the night and cleared in half an hour. aaaaaaaaaaaa fine whatever it's done with

What in tarnation just assaulted my ears. Listening to FF14 music on Spotify and suddenly the most god awful "Christmas" sort of song starts playing, but the phrase Hydaelyn wept springs to mind. It was like a choir of seagulls with every instrument out of tune.
This performance alone is what convinced Emet Selch that mortals held no worth.
The Endsinger was trying to drown them out by turning their music louder.
The Watcher moved to the moon so he wouldn't have to hear it and t didn't work.
The Ascians thought they were the sign of a new Umbral Era.

Was probably the version of the Starlight Celebration event where you fail each quick-time event.
It’s an ear bleeder for sure. "Starlight, Not Right" is the track name.

I looked it up and it was called "Starlight, Not Right."
Setting aside my extreme bewilderment when that started playing, and I realized nothing was wrong with my phone audio settings or earbuds that's just how the song is, I can only imagine what the singers must have thought when the director told them "Okay, now sing as badly as you possibly can."

game8 does it location based rather than partner based. you have 2 set positions and you just go to the safe spot. no adjusting to your partner or anything needed, the 2 spots are always the same.

I'm only just getting to that mechanic, myself, but isn't that the same as in Hector's video? If I'm R1, I should always be southwest or south for that mechanic. I guess the only adjusting is that I need to go to the right a bit when spreading out, but that's it.
no, hector's is static partners while game8 is static positions so your partner can change. it makes where you go independant of someone else and gets rid of the extra movement dps have to do
You shouldn't have to adjust to your partner either for Hector strat, tanks are always left looking towards the center/most clockwise position (however you want to think about it), melee are always right looking towards the center/counter clockwise of tanks. Each pair defaults to their intercard and rotates CCW to the cardinal if needed. If I'm M1 I'm always in the same 2 spots if it's spread, same for M2 on the other side. Like if I picked the positions I'd just go "tanks inside and front, Melee outside and back" cause that's simple enough, but the "Supports go clockwise of the DPS" thing that NA PF/Hector does works too and isn't really a big deal
Honestly just sounds like you ran into a group that wasn't all on the same page
Edit: are we even talking about the same mechanic here? Midnight Sabath, the 8 clones that have canon or wing alongside stack + spread or spread + stack? Cause I have no idea what you would even mean by static positions but different partners for that mech, or how it would introduce extra movement. Like it entirely depends on what the game gives you, if its double canon or double wing you need to move from cardinal to intercard (or intercard to cardinal), and even where you start can be different depending on what drops first.
Edit again: ok I just looked it up, it is literally just the same shit, DPS go to their quadrant and have set stack/spread positions, the only difference is that where the 2 spots the DPS stands for the spread are. Like I guess you can argue that it is slightly less movement, but you have approximately 1 billion years to resolve it and oh my god who cares just move over 3 more yalms. Either way you don't give a shit what your partner is doing, it's just a different server stands in a slightly different spot
After looking at a video, I think that other strat is probably a little better? My understanding is that you basically pre-position between two clones, and then just shuffle toward the one that's safe (and shuffle slightly more if you need to pair up). So it could be a little bit less movement, and it's also a little more obvious where you go to spread. But it's a very minor difference; you certainly don't have to adjust to your partner the other way.
I brought it up because it was a problem across more than one group and my clear was the first time the group got past midnight cleanly. so, maybe people just weren't as practiced as I am at it but I never found the jp strat difficult outside getting the aoe size of the wings down, which isn't related to strat.
imagine, the PF experience but with your whole static. you and your friends fuming and wishing great pain upon SIXTEEN people instead of seven. this is gonna own unironically

Man, they really dumbed down a lot of stuff.
I do appreciate the new totorak. Cape Westwind being an instance instead of a 3 second nothingburger is cool, but I'll miss scaring newbies about it.
New yeti in snowcloak is fuckin' insulting, tho. I used to love that fight.
Oh man, I remember Cape Westwind as a sprout. Someone dropped a savage raid macro in chat and I was TERRIFIED

Can't deny they nailed the assignment though.
