There's a ton of shows this season.
I try to watch at least one villainess or otherwise should series every season for contrast, just so I don't get shonen'ed out.
This season I'm watching Vampire Dormitories, and it's basically Ouran High school host club-like, except with Vampires. It's interesting seeing different genre tropes.
This wouldn't stop her
There's a grimoire in that chest and by the goddess she's going to prove it
I don't see the bug on my laptop since I applied the stylish update, but I'll spoil tag the OP just in case.
edit: I read through your entire previous thread last night, you see, desperate to find something to sate my recently developed urge for anime-that-is-good. Insomnia does strange things to a man.
or to phrase it another way: the harsh realities of life in ancient china are a lot less harsh here, but they are still the realities, y'know?
and how characters take things as pretty matter-of-fact because... they are a matter of fact.
also it's very low on the kind of Anime Bullshit that bother me. All I can think of is that the voice of the child concubine is nails on glass to me and my eye twitches a bit whenever they do the AA-AAAAHN anime eating thing and that's really it.

It helps that the author has sensibly not made it a one for one imperial China - it's a historical fantasy setting that draws very freely on multiple Chinese historical periods, letting her get the best of both worlds - a during historical grounding, and a lot of freedom

Yeah. It could be described as "What if Sherlock Holmes, but Sherlock was a woman and hyperfocused on poisons instead of crime, Watson and Lestrade were combined into one character, set in a fictional Imperial China-like country, and there was sexual tension?"
And he is also the laziest motherfucker on the face of the planet who spends 99.99% of his time taking a nap. In the first chapter he wiped out an entire Hero party by complete accident because he opened his mouth in surprise and inadvertently swallowed them all. He's accompanied by Renee, a homonculus maid who also acts as one of the dungeon gatekeepers, and Patrick, a death knight who is the only one with a functional brain despite being a skeleton and voted Most Likely to Suffer a Heart Attack from his boss doing things without a single neuron firing in his empty head to comprise a thought.
It's a surprisingly well-written story that keeps treading the line between comedy and action/horror. Only 41 chapters translated so far but that was enough for 2-3 entire story arcs.
Here I am, I guess
If I want something between doses of finishing up Food Wars should I start with Apothecary Diaries, then? Seems like maybe?
"Sandra has a good solid anti-murderer vibe. My skin felt very secure and sufficiently attached to my body when I met her. Also my organs." HAIL SATAN
I trust y'all that it's not going to be the all-out GoT-esque emotionally wtf-ing bloodbath JJK is
"Sandra has a good solid anti-murderer vibe. My skin felt very secure and sufficiently attached to my body when I met her. Also my organs." HAIL SATAN
"Sandra has a good solid anti-murderer vibe. My skin felt very secure and sufficiently attached to my body when I met her. Also my organs." HAIL SATAN
It's all on Crunchyroll, if you've got access to that.
But yeah, for new stuff, Apothecary was one of the highest ranked shows in a recent thread poll. I'm not sure if anyone else here is watching any of the currently airing shows I'm watching...
Also check out Frieren
I've heard it doesn't have to be. But I wouldn't know.
Gonna check out Apothecary Diaries and see how we go, thanks folks! (That Symphogear transformation sequence rules, but I don't have crunchyroll and given how little I watch TV at all it doesn't make sense to add it to my list of Dumb Subscriptions I Pay For)
