Well, 2007 is nearly over and with this, 2008 is fast approaching for new Japanese NA editions/JRPGs/SRPGs and others for various systems like Playstation 2, Playstation 3, XBOX 360 and even the handhelds like PSP and DS. So in the dawn of the new age whats coming in 2007/2008?
In the Wii Department we have:
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen & the Tower of Mirrors from Square Enix shipping on 03/01/08. Another one of the Dragon Quest games which I so enjoy. Last year there were DQ games on the DS and with IX either being on the Wii/DS/PS3 its a good time to be a DQ fan in 2008.
Harvest Moon Wii from Crave Entertainment. Harvest moon has had a great run in 2007, getting releases in both Hand Held departments called PSP and DS and this is one of the many games coming out on next gen systems. Prepare to see this on 01/07/2008.
Sengoku Action from Koei. Not much is known except that it will be a first person based on the Samurai Warrior universe to I'm all geared up. Look for it 01/15/2008.
Samurai Warriors: KATANA: A Samurai Warrior game from Koei. They are continuing the Samurai Warriors line on the Wii, which I admit is going to be a big hit. You can do all the slashing motions now. Expect it to be out 01/15/2008.
Moving on to the DS we have:
Harvest Moon DS 2: With a Harvest Moon already out who could not see another one coming? Natsume Inc is publishing this one set to come out on 01/07/2008.
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles -- Ring of Fates : I would say this is one of the most anticipated games of the year. FF:CC did good on the GC and everyone I talked to FF fanboy or otherwise liked it. So I see no reason why this shouldn't be a hit as well. I think more of the story (hopefully) will be told. FF:CC left me with some questions. Look for it on 03/01/2008.
For the XBOX 360 we have:
Lost Odyssey: Made by Sakaguchi of the FF fame, this is one JRPG to look for on the 360. I haven't the slightest clue on how the graphics look and such so I can't comment on it much. Look for it in 02/01/2008.
Culdcept Saga: From Namco Bandai, Culdcept Saga has a manga to it, and for me, it is one I have to pick up. I haven't read the manga yet, but if it is good (why won't it be? DUH
) I'll pick this up. This JRPG is coming on 02/05/2008.
Dynasty Warriors 6: From Koei comes another installment on Dynasty Warriors for the 360/PS3. Hopefully this will be as good as the others, but again when does Koei not deliver on Dynasty Warriors? Look for this one on 03/25/2008.
Soul Calibur IV: From the exciting fighting series Soul Calibur comes the latest edition. I gotta admit this is one of my favorite fighting game after Street Fighter so you know its good. This will come out on 01/02/2008 on both the 360/PS3.
For the PS3 we have:
Final Fantasy XIII : I predict this will be a hit and move a lot of PS3's. But again time will tell. FF have always been a good series and sell well. FF XIII is an expected game that gamers have been patiently waiting for. Come and get it when it comes out 12/01/2008.
Devil May Cry 4: Having loved the DMC series and how honestly doesn't? This latest edition coming out on both the 360 and the PS3. I love this game and can't wait. Expect it to be in stores 02/05/2008.
For the PSP we have:
Crisis Core- Final Fantasy VII : I gotta say I call this a hit for the PSP. You got fanboy's of VII to get this, you get people like me who loves JRPG's and you get who love the PSP. This is one of the most anticipated games in the year according to me. See it on shelves at 03/01/2008.
Thats it for 2008 currently. I'll update this more as we go along and get closer to 2008.
Please not all the dates are suggestive and may or may not be when it comes out due to most part on EB but also like FF XIII it hasn't been release in Japan.
So what are you waiting for?

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
Well, I wanted to include White Knight Story, the Konami unanounced JRPG and others, but unless I get some inkling that they have been released in Japan and are coming here, I didn't add them. Thats why the PS3 looks so bare.
I also added Samurai Warriors: KATANA for the Wii since I forgot it.
Oh, wait, is the new Advance Wars due out in 2008? I'm looking forward to that as well. Post-apocalyptic tactical warfare? Hell yes.
ON TEH FUCKING WII!
All joking aside, my girlfriend is definitely looking forward to "Harvest Moon DS Cute" or whatever it's called simply because she wants to play as a girl, obviously.
Switch: 6200-8149-0919 / Wii U: maximumzero / 3DS: 0860-3352-3335 / eBay Shop
However, Rhythm Tengoku...
My guess is that the english version will be out by this Xmas.

It hasn't even been announced for release outside of Japan yet I'm pretty sure, so definitely not this year
but yeah, go dmc4!
If it's anything like the Lost Planet port... :x
There will probably be some more Japanese games coming out in 08 that I'll pick up, but my time machine is broken so I can't list them here.
But I won't be Mr Negative, I'll post my list:
PS2
Persona 3 (PAL)
PS3
Devil May Cry 4
Disgaea 3
Dynasty Warriors 6
Echochrome
Gran Turismo 5
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Tekken 6
White Knight Story
PSP
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles (PAL)
Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Patapon
Star Ocean: First Departure
Star Ocean: Second Evolution
DS
Dragon Quest IV
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (PAL)
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
It's A Wonderful World
There'll be more added at some point but for now, I believe that's it. Some of my inclusions are based purely on hope that they'll localise them quickly (see WKS, DQIV and the Star Ocean's).
K_A your entire OP reads extremely pious to me. Also, by "I'm definitely going to get this", don't you mean "My mom and dad are definitely going to get this for me"?
I'm keeping an eye on Soul Calibur for the 360, I still play the shit out of the DC original, picked up the PS2 version of SC2 (Heihachi in a diaper!) and scored the Xbox version for $5 (slightly cleaner graphics, Spawn sucks), and skipped 3 completely. But if I get the 360 version, my next big purchase would probably be the Virtua Stick so I could arcade up that motherfucker.

I meant those that are coming in NA and already released in Japan or have been confirmed to come to NA.
Uh, no. I work and have my own money.
Unco-ordinated, I know that my list isn't good that because its relevant to what I want. MGS4 isn't something I play, so I didn't put it on. And agian, I only chose games which are going to be coming to NA.
Lost Odyssey
Devil May Cry 4
The Last Remnant
Ninja Gaiden II
Soulcalibur 4
Playstation 3
Metal Gear Solid 4
Tekken 6
Valkyrie of the Battlefield: Gallian Chronicles
White Knight Story
Yakuza 3
PSP
Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Echochrome
Tales of Rebirth
Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone
DS
Final Fantasy 4
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
So that's why FFXIII is on the list? And the thread is called "K_A's wish list"?
Fuck that, I want Elite Beat Agents 2.
Harvest Moon Wii: Never liked Harvest Moon.
Sengoku Action: First Person Samurai Warriors? Well, sounds interesting.
Samurai Warriors: KATANA: Eeeh. It's Dynasty/Samurai with waggle. Rental.
Harvest Moon DS 2: Again. I never liked Harvest Moon much.
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles -- Ring of Fates : It's a new Crystal Chronicles! Hell yeah.
Lost Odyssey: The trailer was interesting. I'll look more into it.
Culdcept Saga: Yawn.
Dynasty Warriors 6: Oh god no. Not another one.
Soul Calibur IV: Soul Calibur? Fuck yeah
Final Fantasy XIII : Sure why not.
Devil May Cry 4: I'll probably end up not playing it like the rest of DMC. Who knows?
Crisis Core- Final Fantasy VII : MILKING THE COW DRY.
Guys, guys, let's not fight.
Let's hope for both.
This is a happy middle that I am glad to accept.

XBOX 360
Frankly, I don't really side with the 360 and hope the games will get ported to the PS3 or Wii but if they aren't its not hard to pick up a system near the end of its cycle and just buy the games now to store when I get the system.
Operation Darkness
Spectral Force 3
Am I missing anything else?
I see the lack of JRPG/SRPG on the Wii.
Also does anyone know if all development has stopped on the PS2? I don't see any preorders or coming soon for the PS2 on EBGames.
Fragile looks kind of interesting. I'm not crazy about the character design, but the game itself sounds neat.

I'm more interested in that than anything Japanese likely to actually get released on the Wii over here in the next year (with the possible exception of the Vanillaware ARPG if it makes it, or the Okami port), and given that it's almost three freaking years into development I'd like to think it's got a shot. But apparently that's just wishful thinking.
It was announced at E3 last year (alongside the FFXIII games), so no. But you really should remember what happened to Ring of Fates, it was announced before the DS launch and was only just released in Japan this year, same thing happened with FFVII: Crisis Core too. They likely just started full development on Crystal Bearers and will be planning on releasing it in Japan late next year.
Anyway, is this a thread about the various amounts of RPGs that come from Japan (aka, the thread of games KA is interested in) or a general thread about games from Japan?
SSB: Brawl
AW: DS 2
No More Heroes
Fire Emblem DS
Mario Kart Wii
King's Story
Professor Layton
and that's just two systems and not even close to what I think will come out in the states next year.
...Why is it that it didn't strike me until just now that Nintendo counts as Japanese?

Also, this time, your race really makes a difference in MP. Every character has unique abilities. Selkies have the sequence-breaking double jump.
What is SSB: Brawl and AW: DS 2?
I don't know who to feel with No More Heroes. While the idea of an Otaku with a beam sword sounds fun, I seriously don't know what to expect. Is is a FPS sort of thingy?
Fire Emblem DS is cool already and I know I'll love it. King's Story's trailer look amazing. I must have it!
Also agian I'm not sure about Professor Layton. Not that it won't be a bod game, but stuff like Brain Training isn't really my style of game.
Awesome.
SSB: Brawl is Super Smash Brothers brawl. AW: DS 2 is Advance Wars DS 2. No More Heroes looks kind of hack and slashy.

I always wanted Selkies to be different. I finished it with Clavat Male playing it alone. It certainly wasn't an easy thing to do considering that there was this one ruined city area that needed two people to finish it. That was just awesome to go through.
@Mushroom Pie: Hmm, I don't really like mario but Advance Wars sounds awesome. I liked it for the GC/PS2(unless I'm thinking of battalion wars) .
