    oh okay cool

i was afraid you were all, 'waaa this game is hard' instead of all, 'man, this is a challenge but i will overcome'

i really like that none of the fights ever seemed unfair

any time i died it was because i made a stupid mistake

yeah, I believe I mentioned that earlier

the game never feels cheap to me, which I like

by the time I beat it and go back through on normal or something I'll probably be godlike at it

    practice I guess

you know there's a cannon right

I know that's a dumb question but apparently manual reading is passe

other helpful hints from the Mass Effect Manual, conveniently located in your game case include:

    - after inserting Mass Effect into the 360 and powering it on, press start to play

    - use cover in combat

    - the left analog stick is used to move your character

Yeah, reading the thread (and manual) before playing got me at least far enough to realize how to steer and use both guns. I just can't aim or drive for shit.

Edit: Normal squad combat is not a problem at all. My Sentinel kicks all kinds of ass.

    in the mako

zoom with LT to be more accurate, use r3 to cycle through levels of magnification

    use the fucking big gun

don't sit still and trade fire, keep moving

jump over rockets and slow moving shit

Just run over stuff in the mako, jump over their shots and then run over the guys. You can even ram armatures and colossi (they'll only ragdoll but you can kill them while they're helpless on the ground). I think the only thing you can't ram is a thresher maw(which are fun to kill while you're on foot, it takes a while but it's fun)

Also pushing down the right analog while you're zoomed with the mako helps you zoom in further so you can snipe things from very long distances.

These are my two guesses at major plot spoilers.

    Regarding Protheans:
I'm 99% sure humans either are Protheans or are descended from Protheans. It's such a huge sci-fi cliche', all the signs are there. That's why the Council treats humans in such a manner, and that's why Saren flew off the handle when he learned that a human interfaced with the beacon.

    Regarding the Shadow Broker:
It's got to be an AI. I think it may be the city's tour guide, Avia or whatever her name is. She claims to be a VI, but what better cover is there for an AI than to hide itself as a program with complete knowledge of the city, with terminals all over the place? It can sit there and listen, and learn, completely undetected. The other possibility is that the Keepers are the Shadow Broker.

If anybody has any insight on what I should do at this point please feel free to offer suggestions. I would think a shipping refund would be in order. I understand that it's the holidays and whatnot being a busy time of year for UPS. However I paid for overnight delivery to receive this past Tuesday. It will be Friday before I get it if I get it at all.

My humble suggestion: Buy a copy locally and return the game when it finally arrives. I would say do it today, but it's Thanksgiving. But if there is a Wal Mart near you that is open today (a lot of them are) then I say go get the game.

gah! ME is at my UPS station and it's stupid Thanksgiving!

You! Sentinel, scout the station for cameras and security devices.
You! Engineer, bypass said security devices and gain entry into UPS station.
You! Vanguard, assault the station and take out the Geth garrison no doubt responsible for not delivering today.

Sorry, just annoyed that it is so close, yet so far away.

"I Remember Me". That's still my favorite sidequest, dialogue-wise.

    RE: Wrex's Badass Berserker Armor
    BerserkerX.jpg
It's only available at the Normandy Req Officer's store, and only after you purchase the Geth Armory license from Morlan in the Citadel Market. I think you have to be level 40 or 50 to get the License to show up. And even after you purchase a license it's random what he'll have for sale from that manufacturer. No offense BioWare, but the license system kind of sucks. If they carried over between playthroughs that would be one thing, but really now.

    Regarding the Shadow Broker:
I'm almost certain that the Consort is the Shadow Broker. I haven't found any sidequests that reveal this, but it seems logical because not only is she above suspicion, but she seems to have unfettered access to information that noone else does. It will probably be dealt with in ME2 or 3.

I'm just saying they call themselves mono-gendered, refer to every one in their race as she, and the codex calls them an "all female" race

So I'm about 45 minutes in, beat the tutorial. I can't play much cause my XBox is being borrowed by my roommate to play Assassin's Creed. It's 3 feet away from it's normal location, but roommate's wife has a stranglehold on that TV.

Anyway, how come Microsoft can let companies assume everyone and their mother has HDTV, but not everyone has a HDD? Seriously, I couldn't read half the text in this on my SDTV. Maybe my larger (32 inch) SDTV in my room will be easier, but... Jesus.
