UK bargains thread - "Ah! I'll buy it at a low price"

edited January 2008 in Games and Technology
Game are having a Nintendo 24 Hour Spectacular 1 deal every hour on the 24th of july, so 24 special offers in total! Starting on the 24th of July (monday) and I assume ending at 12 noon on the 25th.

I am expecting cheap gamecube console bundles and maybe Cheap GBA SP bundles, probable the odd DS game, and shedloads of GBA/GC games/accessories.

Edit - Not sure if this will work with the special offers, but i found this voucher

Edit: Renamed for out of date title.

Hmmm, do you think at this point it is worth getting a gamecube, this close to the Wii launch?

Because I have money spare and I expect to see some truelly glorious Gamecube deals.

Hmm, are you in England, LightReaper?

Because I have a Gamecube with a lot of quality titles that I'd be fine with selling at a reasonable price.

I would say definately grab games, and if they have a donkey konga GC bundle for dirt cheap (quite liekly), then get it just for the bongos. Having a spare console is allways good, so i would just wait and see what specific offers they have :D

Their suggested security question is "my favourite cheese"!

Anyway, guess I'll be keeping an eye on this. I want me a Lite or a Micro, and if they're selling them cheap... (though I suppose there'll be no great discounts on Lites, since they're selling enough anyway.)

I think i was really lucky in alot of ways - I got alot of help doing my UCAS form of an awesome teacher and my mum (part of her work is training people on how to apply for jobs) I am also dyslexic, and Durham is a centre of exellence for research into dyslexia. I also took out a gap year to do volunteer work in Sri Lanka, and Durham have links to Sri Lanka. I also applied last year, but defered entry, so i got in with last years grade requirements (BBB/BBC) even tho they went up for my year. Plus I think I had some serious divine intervention. Cardiff had requiements of BBC for the same course, and they laughed down the phone at me when I asked if there was any chance of a place. So in conclusion, yes, I am a lucky bastard :P

Yeah, it's damn near impossible to get the good stuff, since there's only 50 of everything. I went for a white Lite for £50, but I wasn't fast enough at clicking the buttons. We'll see if they have any more Lites later on for the taking. Animal Crossing for £15 this hour, though they'll have sold out by now (now being four minutes past the hour).

Hmmm, do you think at this point it is worth getting a gamecube, this close to the Wii launch?

Because I have money spare and I expect to see some truelly glorious Gamecube deals.

Yes, if you want to import. A FreeLoader probably won't work on the Wii since it's slot load instead of top load.

Actually it should. I'm guessing in GameCube mode that ejecting will be "lid open", otherwise it would be impossible to beat any 2-disc GC game.
