I think it's one saving grace was the cool ending cinematic where they exterminatus the planet. That and the intro was narrated by Tom Baker (or was that some other 40k game?)

If you go into a Tier that is lower than you, you get turned into a chicken. So no, you can't kill people everywhere, you can only kill people in the tier you are in or above.

It was pretty terrible, yeah, but I loved running around the starter levels with the laspistol one shotting all the guardsmen
Do they have to wash their weapons if they hit you for fear of cross contamination at least

Goddamnit. Most commisars use laspistols. Any bolt pistols, plasma pistols, power swords etc. tend to be hereditary or gifted items, or given out due to extreme mission requirements.
I've read every book ever written by Dan Abnett I will have his babies.
I was playing an IG player with my Necron army, and I had a squad of Destroyers going after his Command Squad after they popped open the tank they were riding in. I'm not totally familiar with IG, so I may have mixed up some this, but I think he had Guardsmen with a Meltagun and some Plasma weapon in his retinue, not to mention a few Lasrifles. They all miss or fail to wound, and he's about to wrap up his turn when I say "Hey, what about your Commissar?" He says "Oh, right. Well, might as well give it a shot." Destroyers are T5 with a 3+ save.
The Commissar's Bolt Pistol takes two of them down.

everyone here who wants to try open should seriously try out core for a while. it's not like the pve server vs pvp server comparison of WoW or anything. WAR is everywhere, and the best pvp is in the RvR areas.

Core: You are flagged for PvP only in the RvR "lakes." In the early zones, the lakes are pretty small. In later zones, they take up the majority of the map.
