Fuck Mattel and their shitty-ass distribution and fuck my local Target for employing scalping neck-bearded motherfuckers.

If it wasn't for the Mattel problem, there wouldn't be a scalper problem. Your local Target is but one of thousands of fine locations that sort of carry DC figures but not really.

On this subject, i've gone out on a couple hunts for the Wal-Mart exclusive DCUC wave 5. Wouldn't you know it, the one Wal-Mart out of the four in my area that DID carry DCUC doesn't anymore, the shelf tags are gone now and overflow Halo figures are in their place. Hey, thanks assholes!

I've sent Mattel a few letters recently (proper letters, not emails) asking why they don't want people to be able to buy their toys. I listed out the chains i check, how many locations i have access to, and how often i check them, arriving at an aisles checked:figures found ratio of something like 50:1. I encourage others to do the same.

On the plus side, Toys R Us actually carries their exclusives, and those new two-packs they've got are sweet. I got Cyborg Superman and Mongul, figuring that re-buying Mongul was far superior to buying a $40 Cyborg on ebay. A Clayface re-release is happening soon via these two-packs as well.

you want to talk bad distribution, back when marvel legends was still good, they had a wal-mart exclusive set that had a great kitty pryde figure

yet the only one they ever stocked was AoA Sabretooth and they had like two hundred

Maaaaan Deadpool is going for like $50+ on eBay, but Sentinels and Galactuses (Galacti?) are about 20-30. I might have to get one for the awesome-factor.

Yeah, Wal-Mart exclusives were, are, and always will be a terrible plan. I can't even see how it makes sense from a toy company's perspective, considering that Wal-Mart is notorious for not even bothering to carry the lines they're given. Target and Toys R Us at least put forth an effort. Hell, even KB is making their DC exclusives available with their dying breath.

But man, from my experience nothing that Marvel Legends had to offer in terms of rarity and poor distribution even comes close to this DCUC line. Every single figure from this series is like reliving the Deadpool/Juggernaut hunts of a few years ago again and again.

Mattel might as well just come out and say that they're making four out of every five figures a $25 ebay exclusive, and then just ship them directly to the hot wheels collectors and neckbeards.

I can just slap the shit out of you right now and save you the trouble. =D

I went looking for a Deadpool figure on eBay, and I just started laughing when I saw the prices people wanted for them. I'm not the biggest DP fan, it would be a cool figure to have, but I'm not paying that ridiculous price for that.

If it makes you feel any better, I saw Deadpool ONCE in stores. Up until then every figure had been easy to find, so I bought Cable instead. Which was in no way a better character or figure, or even close. So you're not the only one who did it wrong. :)

I saw the Deadpool figure once in a store as well, but it was a collector's store, so I promptly had a fucking heart attack when I saw the price tag. Inside the same case, they had one unboxed, and it was still priced in the "fuck you" range.

There really should be some sort of support group for buying mass-market comic book figures in general. Oh sure, it starts out easy and cheap. You're all excited for $10 figures that you don't have to go to a comic shop to get. But then by the time it's all said and done you might as well be collecting statues for all the time and money you end up investing.

Then you can't even go in your toy room without a sad pile of disjointed Gorilla Grodd bits wrecking your day.

Next thing you know you're spending a couple hours a week in a smokey rec center basement sobbing your way through a story about how you drove cross-state following a Wal-Mart store locater to hell and back just to dodge ebay prices.

On the brighter side, I somehow found Jason Rusch Firestorm figures at Target. There were 2. I bought both and sold the other on ebay for over twice as much.
Just kidding. I only bought one.

She looks like an overweight transvestite. I don't know how else to describe it.

Love Logan (although ahrg another dupe) and Sabretooth, it's a bit of a shame Cyclops doesn't have a ruby red visor though, not really sold on those eyes.

Aces. Time to start getting my Target on again, i guess. Here's hoping for an e-bay killing glut on these things.

Also sweet fancy jesus that new Logan Mighty Mugg is the single greatest thing i have ever seen in my life. Nice re-use of the Indiana Jones hat. Cyclops and Sabretooth also are fantastic. Man though, that Phoenix IS disturbing, isn't she. Hopefully it'll be a little less fierce in real life.

really pleased with it, though it should be noted if you're a snob about this shit:

he is using a Fury pistol as opposed to the generic 9mm

So i went out looking for wave 2 DCUC figures today and found Superman Red and Black Manta sitting on the shelves alone. Good to know some things never change, even with a rerelease, i guess. :(

I'm tellin' ya, the lone Black Manta figures on shelves from the first release and now once again are just proof that it's 90% scalpers that are actually getting these things off the pegs, because that figure is fantastic.

So i saw DCUC wave 2 in something like four places today, each time everything remained on the pegs except Aquaman and Harley Quinn.

I swear that finding these two figures has started to feel like some impossible Herculean task meted out to me by a pantheon of vengeful gods.

Even as we hosted our New Years party last night, my mind fully on other things and several beers deep, only four words came to light when the topic of New Year's resolutions was skirted upon:

    "Complete Gorilla Fucking Grodd."

Thank christ i have an awesome wife. :D
