Thom. You don't gain anything from playing a fresh game of ME3. You just miss out. On a lot.
Oh I know I'm missing quite a bit. I sat down with Jacob, and there are a fair number of differences between playing with an ME2 save and a fresh ME3 game. My issue was that my ME2 save was on a PC and I didn't feel porting it over.
But it had a lot of minor impact. People described Garrius and Joker exchanging racial jokes. On my ship it was Joker and EDI with very different results.
At some point I'll grab ME2 for the xbox and play through it then 3.

Also, a World Of Darkness game shouldn't be so much about endgame content as it is a dynamically shifting landscape of strange and horrible.
Being a new character and starting over with, say, half the point pool you built up on the one that dies would be fine by me.
Especially if you can build up your social status with points as well - step right back into the fray with a new person.

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
We need more Lavernes and Grace Nakamuras in graphic adventures. Or more Trixie the Giraffe Necked Girls. I would play a game with her as the main character.
Everything with Legion. Just everything. The Reaper IFF mission, his loyalty mission, his conversations with Shepard, his spat with Tali. Just everything.
Tali's loyalty mission.
The suicide mission
The only thing I didn't like about ME2 story wise was Jack. Thankfully if you play a brand new game of ME3, there is no Jack to be found.
You missed out. (ME3)
Jack wasn't a terrible character. And she becomes awesome.
Pfft, I got to meet Anderson's love interest instead of a raging psychopath.
You actually get both if Jack survived ME2.
Her character really develops and she becomes awesome:
Her experiences on your ship have taught her how to love, and now she is like a hard-ass gym teacher for the psychic children who are her new family.
Apparently there is an option where it's just Jack. When Jacob and were comparing notes he didn't actually have the Anderson love interest, just Jack.
also basically every renegade interrupt in me2 is the best thing ever. I've done them all so far except
shooting the worker/janitor hiding from the eclipse soldiers on thane's level
If that's the one I'm thinking of, you just punch him. I don't think Shepard ever has the choice to kill an innocent—everyone in gameplay is trying to kill you, and everyone in cutscenes has done something bad, even if it's just working for Saren.

Speaking of Grace Nakamura, I need to get around finishing Gabriel Knight 3. But I doubt I've ever seen a game with a weirder interface. It's like you're playing with 3D Studio Max or something.

Still ME2
Legion was excellent! his loyalty mission was really fun, and I was super excited to paragon away the conflict with him and Tali
Suicide mission was so amazing... I never got Jack's loyalty but I used her as a backup fighter during that fight.. her blast biotic power thing was extremely helpful against the husks.
I actually liked the end boss. it was cool!
Things I did:
All loyal but Jack.
Romanced Miranda.
All ship upgrades.
Destroyed collector base.
destroyed heretics.
Shadow broker DLC
Quite paragon.
All squad members survive suicide.
Also I like that all the useless excess minerals I mined in ME2 got converted to rreadiness in ME3!

I'm playing through Gabriel Knight 2 for the first time right now.
They ruined Grace! They changed Grace from a snarky cynic in the first game into an insufferable bitch.

This is the first time that I ever realized that the S in 3DS Max stands for Studio.

Oh man all those missing elbows.
I loved that game though.
It was a strange interface, but it was also a really neat way to bring Sierra's AGI point and click style into a full 3D environment. also, being able to look around corners in long hallways while your character was safely standing in another area altogether? Aces.
Also, that game had a fun plot, a suitably epic conclusion to that plot, and the biggest FUCK YOU from Sierra to its fans ever in that there will never be a 4.
King's Quest had a better ending to the series than Gabriel Knight did, and King's Quest last official game was a tomb raider knockoff.

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
It's limited in scope. I don't like how it gets more and more like Gears of War.
Some of the set pieces are really good. The graphics are great. Occasionally there are snippets of story worth listening to.
But dammit. Why'd they have to throw out the RPG?
What roleplaying did they throw out? You still customize your character, and you still choose what you say, just not all the time. As the recent comic showed, two people can have two very different playthroughs of Mass Effect 3.

then later on illium i overheard a news story that he was killed when he was trying to stop some kids from hitching a ride on a bus
i love that kind of depth
I like you, Winky.

There will need to be a dispute character death option, for dying due to lag spikes, server dropped connection in the middle of a fight, etc.
I'll accept getting PKd or trolled into doing something that kills my WoD character, but fuck a bad Verizon day killing months of playtime.

Permadeath is like a reporter turning in a news piece with an unchecked source - you get sloppy and you're career is ruined.
just punch him, then drop a snappy one-liner
it's pretty great

but i did kick that one eclipse merc out the window
i was all "OH SNAP"
I did smoke that one chick in samara's level when she reached for her gun though
However I did like ignoring the paragon option on Miranda's. Dude deserved to die by her hand.
