I mean it ain't like complainin' about the dude on the internet is going to get him to stop writing.
No one is suggesting it is. We don't come to this thread because we expect our keen and insightful commentary on the GB crew to be noticed and vastly help to improve their website.

I was saying that as one of the main complainers and why I feel it is silly to continue doing so.

Hey Alex wrote a pretty good article about Chinatown Fair, you guys should read it and talk about how it sucks because Alex wrote it
That's dumb. We don't hate things because they are born from his loins. We hate things that are bad. And it happens that he craps out a lot of bad turds.
Hey, if he did something good I'll be the first one to say "That's surprising given his track record."
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

I just realized that we don't see many remakes of classic PC RPGs.

Pretty much exactly this
And hey, on the article Shoe mentioned, this is the title and headline:
From Fighting Games to Family Fun: NYC's Chinatown Fair Arcade Ain't What it Used to Be
Chinatown Fair was once a haven for New York City's fighting game enthusiasts and classic arcade fans. Now it's something else entirely.
That doesn't sound like the Navarro we hate at all
I have a lot of problems trying to enjoy Uncharted 1, but that might just be because I started with 2 and 3.
I still think it is really weird that people seem to regularly skip games in a series.
I mean some things where the original game is a decade old or something, but Uncharted 1 and Mass Effect 1 were this generation
Some series are way more plot-critical than others. It's entirely possible to enjoy any Uncharted game as its own thing completely independently of the others.

Pretty much yeah. I'd never recommend someone play ME2 or 3 before 1, even though it's technically possible to do so. Uncharted 1 just seems pretty unnecessary to 2 and 3 except maybe for some small jokes. They're quite independent.

I do love me some Uncharted 1 (a lot more than 2 and 3, actually), but I do tell people to skip Mass Effect 1 if they can
Especially since they put out that digital comic thing that lets you make all the relevant choices in ME1 without having to slog through that chore of a game

They are pretty unconnected, yeah.
But I loved the first one.
You are right though, the biggest reason I would recommend against skipping the first one and then going back to it is almost unplayable next to 2.
3 was a big closer to 1, actually.
Man I wanted to love that game but it did plenty of real bad stuff that made me want to hate it. (3, I mean.)
Fuck that. Mass Effect 1 has some gameplay problems but has by a significant degree the best ending (really the best final 3 or 4 hours) of any game in the trilogy.

Man I loved Mass Effect 1. Gameplay and all. I did not think it was a chore to do any of it.
Assassin's Creed is really the series you wanna point to as an example of a plot-critical series where the first one is a demoralizing chore to pull yourself through.

Except we don't think things suck because he wrote them. That would be stupid.
We see a painfully unfunny line or title and look at who wrote it and go "oh that explains it. It was Alex"
How could you possibly know that?
Because sometimes he does actual coverage and it's good!
Hell his Screened content was all pretty solid. Not as likable as Rorie but I enjoyed his reviews all the same.
What have you done today
A pretty good sandwich.
arby's, huh

We don't have those up here. Independent little sandwich shop close to work. Delicious!

Has Naughty Dog ever even done something that was bad?
A joke is a conversational device used to cause amusement or laughter. See, the original statement was "What have you done today?"
Your response was "A sandwich"
Now, most people would see that statement and assume from the context that you had made a really great sandwich today.
But in American English, the verb "to do" can be interpreted as an act of sexual congress.
I mean I guess Crash Kart was probably pretty bland.

At the time it was out, I agreed with most of that. Then ME2 came out, and it was like you had an iPod and a walkman.
