I am going to preemptively alert people, should a flash or daily deal come up and you find yourself hesitating before clicking buy: Bulletstorm is fucking awesome, buy it.
I'm weak, I caved and got SRTT and a couple of the interesting looking dlcs
Despite its flaws, SR3 is fucking fun and has a lot of good qualities. If you cave into more DLC before the sale ends, be sure to looks for the larger multi packs of DLC. Season pass is obvious, but there is also Purple Ops and Maximum Pleasure packs.
So, does anybody know if this Iron Front game is at all decent? There aren't that many WW2 games that focus on the Eastern front, and it certainly looks...ambitious, which is both attractive and worrying. If you can really jump around and command units at the tactical level or control individual vehicles, etc, and the different aspects are all reasonably well-executed, that sounds like it would be neat.

Well it has a terrible metacritic; which doesn't always mean anything; but once you're in the 50's. I dunno.
Also, Company of Heroes 2 will focus on the Eastern Front.

It's also 50% off during the sale, so even if it's not a daily or a flash deal, people so inclined should buy the dick off of it on the final day of the sale.
Breaking my habit of ninjagifting to actually post a giveaway.
Anyone need all the X games?
Are these X^n games just space combat sims? I can't really tell and Youtube hasn't been all that helpful.
I already have a couple space sims, but no joystick. I haven't played them.
The X games are space sims where, in addition to flying around blowing up bad-guys as part of linked scenarios (e.g., story missions), you can fuck around and do whatever you want. For instance, you can find a hostile freighter and shoot it until the pilot bails out. Then, you can waltz over and commandeer it.
You can have that freighter start trading for you (via remote commands at first, until you can afford the upgrade which turns it autonomous) to make money. You can invest that money in more freighters, and eventually in your own space stations (which, if you you want them to, can also be visited by NPC ships). You can link those space stations into a massive fabrication complex which sucks in raw materials (provided by your fleet of haulers) and spits out fully-armed fighters - and missile reloads for your capital ships. Oh yeah - you capture those via training up marines and then firing hull-breachers at enemy capital ships.
It's extremely mod-friendly, and there are mods which add all sorts of things to the game - not just ship rebalancing, but things like whole new campaigns or interstellar warfare where various sectors can change hands.
The X games, especially once you get out of your fighters and into something bigger, play pretty well with KBAM.
In addition to the story missions, there are an infinite number of randomly-generated missions, varying from trade and supply to recon to escorts. There's not a huge variety in mission types, but the escalation in enemies is pretty entertaining.
Plus, there's an enemy faction called the Kha'ak, which means you can find yourself fighting a bunch of Kha'ak Interceptors.
I voted BG&E because of it's infrequency to go on sale compared to ME going on sale more often. Also noticed that ME is actually cheaper in Australia than the USA. How's that for a change?
You Australians always get the good prices on games.
It's because you have the Queen on your money, I'll bet. That's why they call you the land down under, because you're always undercutting our prices on video games.

It's built on the Arma 2 engine, so it's probably gonna have a wonky personality. But that also means that if it's not infested with bugs and glitches it will offer MilSim sandbox gameplay that's pretty hard to touch.
I'm interested for sure, but I don't trust the mainstream gaming journalists to give me an opinion that I'll find worth listening to on the subject.
I just realized that there's still 6 full days of sale after today, I've already gamestop'd old games for steam bucks, and refilled my wallet a second time and am almost out of that too.
This is going to make for an interesting week but please let the authorities know that the most likely place my wife will bury my body is under our fruit tree in the front yard.

Well, I think you just successfully talked me out of it.
I'm considering saving some of my steam wallet funds for Torchlight 2. Do we have any idea when it comes out? It still just says summer.
If you head over to the Torchlight 2 Thread, the last post is a copy/paste of the latest from the Devs, talking about what they're working on and how the process works. Basically, saying "no date anytime soon".
Damn. How can they say summer 2012, but still have no date anytime soon? It'll be Fall before long.
I just sent out a ton of friend requests, but I was disappointed that everyone on my list already had Bastion.
Not really seeing anything for me today, so that made me go back and pick up sr3. So much for saving money. Already $200 deep in this sale, but I've just started adding everything to my inventory. When it's a gift it's ok, right?
Edit: Also, I apologize if I spammed anybody. I don't know if multiple requests show up, and I just went through the last few pages clicking on ddgamer sigs..

That reminds me...I should probably play games that I was gifted in the last big sale...

She's not that effective. RAGE's regular price, this far out ffrom release, is $99. The special brings it down to an impulse buying $30. And our currency is at parity with yours.
Ended up with an extra copy of this. Starts in about a half hour, ends Wednesday evening.
Note this is only restricted to members of the generic Penny Arcade group and not the Adventure Team as many giveaways are, as we seem to have picked up a few fine new members of the community this sale who aren't in the Adventure Team yet and I wanted to give them a chance.

I have Metro 2033 to give away to a classy lady or gent who can help me out.
This saturday I will be in Madrid for a 10 hour layover on the way to Malaga. I sure as hell will not be spending those 10 hours at the airport. I'd like to explore the city!
Problem is I don't quite know what to do or where to go. Or how to maximize my 8-10 hours there.
So just shoot your suggestions over to me, and the one that tickles my fancy the most gets the prize.
You know, I have owned Red Faction: Space Asshole since the Christmas '10 sale. I played it for about a half hour then and abandoned it because it ran shitty on the PC I had at the time (and, as I vaguely recall, because of rage about some perceived stupidity in the way the menus/encyclopedia worked).

It was community choice sale. And the Pack was MORE at $45.

The 2nd bundle doesn't make any sense. All that CK2 DLC, but not the actual game?
Yeah gifts don't count

If you buy both bundles you get more games for less than the large bundle.
Maybe I should actually...install it.
