Astonishing X-Men starts off very well indeed, then the second arc is a bit iffy, then the final two are back to pretty good. After Whedon left the quality was variable, ranging from very good (some of the Warren Ellis stuff) to mediocre to not very good and why is this comic around any more?

Coyle is semi-known for being a click bait troll. I genuinely do not like his writing style. There are a dozen other critics who are a lot harsher on movies than I am that I respect. Yes, it annoys the fanboy in me that he has the ONLY negative review of GotG. Yes I genuinely believe that was on purpose. No I am not going to get out a pitchfork. If I hated critics just because they didn't like movies I liked or vice versa, I'd hate most everyone.

Wolverine has more movies under his belt than any other Marvel hero. If anything he's an even bigger cash cow now. He was bought into the Avengers on the fairly reasonable idea that the Avengers are supposed to be Earth's premier heroes but never felt like it because Tri-D Man was filling out the roster or Gilgamesh or Rage or someone that would just embarrass the X-Men if he showed up. So they just piled a bunch of really popular people in the team along with Iron Man and Cap and a couple of Bendis' favourites and hey presto it became their biggest selling book.
Which is why marvel are 'killing' him in the comics, because his death is a sales winner.
