Someone school me. Why do I have turret mode loaded up on my Dread? Every time I use it I feel like I'm just a sitting duck.
Because Turret Mode+Explosive Rounds is civilization.
Bonus points if you're a Rhino rocking your Dreadfield (infinite ammo, shoot FASTER AND HARDER!!!!), or you have a friendly Raptor popping Power Field (like a mini Dreadfield. For the team!), or... well, it's basically for the PEW PEW PEW. Also, the accuracy.
Rhino and Mammoth both have ways to get some defense up for it though. Because yes, you'd normally be a sitting duck... though that's kind of why it has like a 10 sec cooldown - you can drop it as needed.

It's used for things like Baneclaw when you have someone nearby to shield you. The damage output is really really high. But the drawback is the duck sitting.

I try not to use it for more than a few seconds at a time, but those seconds are amazipants.
...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.

They fixed the safe spot on the BWA boss. Before that though? Rhino+Turret+Explosive Rounds. Dps non stop.
Mostly, there are still a couple safer spots but a healer is dang near mandatory if your not sniping from way back. The dragonfly in my runs never stopped spamming heals.
Death ray seems to be a final phase thing but poison goes all the way to back of platform, and the missles, dear lord the missiles... Swear it fired a 10 second or salvo. It really wants some kills now.
The VA that most bugs me is the soldier in the opening area that is just hell bent on not liking your Operator. I just wanted to leave his ass out to dry during that escort mission back. So much whine.

What I don't understand is how a 12 year old got into the Accord Army.

And most of the Accord that we meet seem pretty incompetent and are often referred to as such by the gangs and the corporations in Dredge and Sertao.
All the good shooters went to work for them instead for the higher pay.
I am pretty happy with the amount of VAs that I'm experiencing in the world. It makes the game feel more real, etc. instead of hearing a generic phrase and then having to read what they are actually saying. So, in that regard, the game's usage of VAs is pretty cool.
Just that one guy bugs me. Beyond that, I haven't had too much problem with any voice standing out and just grating up and down my spine.
The VAs never really bothered me, what did annoy me was that they have like a handful of character portraits to use while someone is talking on the radio and they almost never match up with the in-game model. I think the worst one was when the radio portrait said I was talking to a bald, bearded black dude, and when I turned in the quest to him his model was a white dude with a mohawk and glasses.
So, about that Jump Pad upgrade. Turns out it makes crater both a bugger to aim and quite rewarding (double bounce seems to be from hopping onto npc's): http://youtu.be/pNnDZOWqEvk
Still wondering if I want to buy the other glider. Then I have to try to get those two off the market.
Hnnng glider addiction.
Picked up the two new slot gliders for 5k credits each earlier. Don't know if its a huge number of folks playing slots or credits being scarce but prices are dropping nicely. Heck even celestial wings were 45k earlier.

No one will buy my red beans else I would be all in on that shit.
Making credits from crystite is taking more time then I want to invest at any one time and I want that crystite for crafting and stuff.
I am jealous. If there was a way to buy credits with money right now I totally would.
Just for those gliders.

Isn't the option to buy red beans, then sell red beans for credits? Or is the market for red beans so saturated that it's taking forever for sales to go through?

Got my Dragonfly and Nighthawk to 20 today. I feel productive! I wanna try to get some thump groups together at some point and thump with my 26 Bastion. Tried to do it with pubs and lost my squad tiki thumper. Need a full group for those things, not just 3 people.

They've changed a ton since I last played when I enjoyed the shit out of it. There are still almost no prespawned creatures which is a bad thing, the amount of Chosen incursions/Drop-Pods/Invasions has been reduced to almost nothing. They removed arena based PvP (even though it sorta worked even if the E-Sports idea was awful) despite it working even if some suits were overpowered. Thumping has been reduced to either getting paltry amounts of minerals, or from what I've heard being bombarded with huge amounts of spawns that decided to all spawn at the same time. The variations in minerals is gone (you used to be able to mine increasingly rare variants of minerals that would be better for refining). Crafting has become a much more complicated manner.
On the cool side of things, the Job Board is a great addition with entertaining quests for some (Omnidyne testing), the number of suits has increased a little, and the amount of space there is has grown also. They've also added a bit more flexibility with gun and ability modules which is cool.
I maxed my char out before the first wipe in Beta because I loved the game. I can barely log on now, because there's no reason to.
If, if Reagan played disco He'd shoot it to shit You can't disco in Jackboots

Last I looked RB's pending sale at floor was around 100k....
About the only way I've found to get old style action is running campaign missions. If you. An get a squad going s3's work, but most folks want solo for drops.

If you have fond feelings of the old crafting system, I can't even begin to understand that.
It was a shit system where you spent hours looking for the only worthwhile 900+ quality materials. Hopefully. Then you just dragged and dropped stuff til you got the stats you wanted and yay?
I mean crafting now is so easy it's ridiculous. You get materials, you push a button. I can't imagine how they could simply that any more except maybe to enable voice recognition, have you just say 'Give me this' and magically spawn it without any input, materials or cost?
Research is way overpriced though. Hoo boy.
Still if thats how you feel, that's too bad. I found pre 1.0 to be pretty horrible because it was the same 'dynamic' events repeatedly, happening in the same spots, on a set timer, and it was just.. I dunno. Yay, 1:25, better go stop that totally 'random' incursion for the 235289357 time!
Of course there was no reason to, because everyone was T4 and such. Except, you know, rocking stock equipment because item breakage was dumb. So most people just sat around chatting or stopped playing because the only reason to play was to repair stuff that broke while playing.
It was an incredibly weird cycle.
I like the current system. I think it has way more potential now with where they can do and what they can add. I think that in normal Red5 fashion they just rushed out these big sweeping system changes without planning enough content for it. I'm still enjoying just squadding up with randos and doing stuff though. There are far more 'wild' encounters since the last patch. I've seen more brontodon herds in the last day then I did the last week.

Yeah, that's my issue with that particular voice. It's just so...off putting.
Of course, maybe that was the intent, but it just bugs me something fierce.
