People who hate cats and/or dogs are weird.

Preferring one or the other is fine. Not having any special affection for them because you're like, allergic or something is understandable.

But every now and again you run into a self-identified "dog person" or "cat person" who is more than just all about their dog or cat, they're downright hostile to the other sort of pet and they're kinda weird about it.

Often it's based on negative personal experience or trauma (as such prejudice often is) but sometimes its just inexplicable animosity that should probably get unpacked.

Dogs are good, cats are good.

It is okay to prefer one over the other.

If you are poopy about it, y tho

for me it's mostly about litter and potty training with cats

I don't hate cats, but I dislike them greatly and will probably never own one again. Cats are fun to pet and play with and all that, like every animal has their ups and downs. But the litter is not something I ever want to deal with again, especially when they stop using it.

We didn't have to really litter train our cats. When Eevee was a kitten she pooped on the floor once. We picked up the poop, put it in the litter box, showed her the litter box, and that was that.

yeah we showed our cat the litter box, then as soon as we'd had the cat for long enough to let him outside, he stopped using it and preferred to paw at the door when he had to poop

    For now.

Don't worry it will be on in by next fiscal year.

I have literally no idea what you're trying to say

I corrected it. This is what I get for being exhausted.

It will be gone by the next fiscal year.

How do you figure? Privatization or cuts to federal funding

    Depending on your state:

1)Medicade expansion is probably covering your, its roll back means you get cut and that is high on the Republican list.
2)Shifts to federal block grant only programs which essentially cuts funding for medicade means you being a male with out dependents are first on the list to be cut.
3)Privatization is a full possibility but this will be more at the state level and will be tied to the above two options and again thanks to your demographics you will be on top of the list to be cut.

    yeah the mandate sucks

    just a real bad idea

Really poorly written with no thought whatsoever given to people who make like $28k-$35k

why are there hard caps? no government program should ever create a situation where I consider going to my boss and asking for a small pay cut so I can qualify for a subsidy

I mean, the mandate is necessary: this kind of coverage scheme only works if everyone pays in.

It's just dumb that the costs weren't simply added into taxes and everyone granted fucking public coverage like every other sane country (and even a few of the less sane ones).

Well the percentages for exemptions (both from having to buy employer health care and from having to pay the mandate) could be stepped, so that if say, your cheapest employer plan premium is 7% of your AGI you only have to pay 1/8 of the fine if you don't buy it?

Or if it costs say, 9.4% of your AGI instead of 9.66% you can still get a subsidy, but at a reduced rate?

Setting hard "gates" to fines and government assistance is how you create straw man scenarios around taxes that everyone who doesn't know how taxes work mention on facebook where someone won't take a raise because it would be a pay cut

What's funny is that my wife and I are not afraid of snakes, and both think they're adorable, but she would prefer we did not keep one as a pet.

EVEN WHEN I FIND AN ADORABLE BABY SNEK IN THE BACK YARD AND SHOW IT TO HER, SHE'S LIKE "NA DOG..."

Also last night my wife looked at me and during conversation said "that bitch cray" and I almost died laughing.

I'm cool with the mandate but just letting employers have 100% of the control and completely cutting employees out from benefits at arbitrary points of income, and not letting the employee take things into account like student loans or other bills you can't just not pay is the problem

And everyone pretending this is all on the GOP, it was like this in the initial version of the bill too, as far as I recall - the Dems are in favor of this
