So saw a bit of a Divinity Original Sin 2 stream last night and that looks pretty good. Really scratches the fantasy role-playing itch.
Installed and fired up Divinity OS 1 right after and played for a bit. Yeah, this looks like a fun time, though not as many options as I saw for 2.
Maybe I should do this "card-idling" thing I've heard about to get some money to pick up 2 quicker.
most of the options in 2 feel more cosmetic than anything. there's still plenty of skills and abilities in 1. 2 just adds one or two things based on what race you choose.
Well, with all these people saying "we realize the beginning of Divinity kinda sucks, but it gets better later", I guess if I see the first game on sale anytime soon I'll give it another ol'college try.
Right now, though, my gaming budget for the month is going to go either towards the new Metroid game, or the new Total Warhammer (now with races I actually give a fuck about!). There are entirely too many games to play, I swear.
Apparently (I say, because I can't run that either) the Enhanced Edition is a whole lot better than the original Original Sin so keep an eye out for that one.
now you too can continue your restaurateur aspirations, throwing together all of your food at breakneck speed, this time with like way more food options than before (almost 200!), a revamp of the drink mechanics, addition of holding stations to prep multiple foods to use for later, and the ability to hire yourself out to other themed restaurants for the day! Also apparently the difficulty is adjustable if the first one got a little too... intense. or was too easy!
I picked up the first one of these on a whim during a Steam sale and it ended up being my third highest played game with 45 hours so clearly it has its hooks in me, but maybe it will for you too!
Okay CSD2 is pretty dang great. I'm not sure I like the ingredients spanning multiple pages though, and tab+number is awkward to hit. I wonder if I can re-bind those stations to shift+number?
I changed the holding stations to the F1-F8 keys since I don't like having to press two keys, but I think that you can change it to shift as well since in the setup for the keybindings the Tab key is changeable.

I mean, I am a sucker for cosmetic options (even if the choices don't change too much) And I honestly don't expect great sweeping changes from video game RPG character creation. Adding that level of complexity, based on initial or even mid-game choices, leads to massive exponential growth of development work. As long as I'm not having my face rubbed in the illusion of choice, I'm happy to "let" myself be fooled and enjoy the ride.
And as long as 2 is as good as 1 feels (yes, even only just going through the first tutorial dungeon and about 30 minutes of play) I'll appreciate the greater creation options in 2.
Finished up my XCOM War of the Chosen run last night so took a peek at the character creation and opening moments of Divinity Original Sin 2.
I think I'm going to have a hard time deciding on what sort of character to make my main. They have like 6 precreated characters with specific backstories and goals. Or you can create a custom character and pick a few of those other folks up as your party members.
So all this talk about idling cards got me to look at the steam marketplace for the first time in ages. And then I ended up looking at the PUBG stuff. And now I'm kicking myself for not picking up my Twitch Prime promotional clothing set cause it's selling for over $100 now.

I don't even own PUBG so I don't think I could have even activated it.
I don't have Twitch Prime, but my aunt does and she lets me use her account to buy shit. With that said, I didn't feel comfortable linking her Amazon Prime account to my Twitch account, even for free PUBG and Overwatch shit.
Yeah, I don't own it either, and I thought about grabbing it in case I ever did get it. But then I saw them and thought it was pretty ugly looking so just passed on it.

Why is the set so much more than the combined items it contains?

Every time I've tried playing one of the Divinity OS games, I've stared at the character creator for hours, unable to settle on a character, and ended up not playing it. I don't generally have that problem in RPGs, but something about DivOS does it to me.
Like every day I have one average order that keeps me from perfect and it makes me so angry. My cooking skills are a little out of practice I guess. Really digging the variety of foods though.
If anyone's still on the fence about CSD2, the developer put out a hotfix the first day and is finishing up some last minute fixes for a patch that should be coming in the next day or so, so it's not a terrible idea to wait and see. The game is all there and working great, but there's a few minor things still being adjusted.

It's bizzare. There isn't like a rare chance on unpacking for a special version of an itemlike the TF2 crates did.
It has those 4 specific items in it, which you can buy on the market now for like $14-$15.
Fools and their money I guess. Or money laundering.

I tend to ignore or forget about all the Twitch/Amazon Prime loot stuff. I regret not buying PUBG when that Twitch promotion was going on, but then again how could I know it would become so valuable?
Divinity: OS 2 looks wonderful, but I have D:OS 1 and Tyranny sitting there unplayed but marked highly in my games list since I DO intend to play them...

That Twitch loot still doesn't hold a candle to the near $300 miniskirt (which I'm not too big a fan of on my character when I tried it on after looting the complete Japanese schoolgirl set off someone; shows too much leg for my taste)

I was so ready to buy X-COM 2's DLC, the Battle with the Chosen.
But there's like, 80 bucks worth of total DLC on the steam page.
Eighty bucks of DLC. I can afford the sticker price of the game once in a short while, but not that insanity.
Why can' they just bundle all the DLC together with the newest one and make that 39.99

It's the Activision/Bethesda way. (Eventually) almost give away the game, but never the DLC. Once almost everyone owns the DLC, release Gold version costing the same as the DLC.

To be a little fair, you're "only" getting ganked $65 worth of DLC for XCOM 2 since the Resistance Warrior Pack bundles together Anarchy's Children, Alien Hunters, and Shen's Last Gift, making it redundant to buy the latter three separately.
To be unfair, the base game is still $60 sans sale on Steam, making you bite down $125 some odd buckeeroos for the whole thing, which is ridiculous. Yeah, it was on Humble Bundle and stuff, but come the fuck on.

Just buy War of the Chosen and then, if you want, get the other DLC later.
Honestly, the stuff that came in the Season Pass had a mixed reception, and it wasn't until the rebalance of them that came with the War of the Chosen update that people like the Alien Rulers and SPARK units.
What's the deal with the Pacman games on Steam. I recall some being talked about as being crap. I have CE and it's solid, but I vaguely recall negative talk about some of the others.

They may be talking about 256, which is great if you're young or dont care about RNG, but anyone who cares about score at all should stay clear away.

(the 'undefined' after the first line is okay, it's just saying "all you did was assign to foo, that doesn't return a value")
The rest of it is bbcode getting confused. Change the second line to:
for (var j=0; j < foo.length; j++) { console.log(foo[j].value); }
It originally was looping over i, but i-in-square-brackets is bbcode for "start being italic", and I guess something got confused as a result.
