IDK, I look at Goff this year vs last, and wonder if the issue isn't more that the NFL is lousy with QBs not transcendent enough to make up for their terrible fucking coaching.
Look at the retread rate on coaches, Get canned as a HC, become a OC somewhere, suck at that, now your a QB coach somewhere else, etc. A single shitty coach can torpedo a dozen QBs with their ineptitude.
How many seasons of at least competent QB play have been lost because of the Jeff Fishers of the NFL?

This is why I've never been mad that the Browns didn't draft:
Wilson
Carr
Wentz
Dak
Watson
Because any of those players would be out of the league if they had to be developed by the Browns
Basically sounds like they’ll have testimony from nfl coach or gm saying nfl told them not to sign him
I can't see a Coach or GM breaking that line.
I also can't see the NFL telling them that. Like I can imagine an owner vetoing a player, maybe maybe even in an email that could act as a smoking gun. But that's not collusion unless it show multiple owners getting together.
one dude has Big Ben with AB, Larry and Dez as his receivers
other dude has Carr with Kenan Allen, Michael Thomas and Kearse as his receivers
honestly i feel like trading Brees for any of those receivers except Kearse would be worth it for me right?
like i'll sell Alex Smith if they want him instead, just figure Brees has the bigger name
these guys are 1-5 and 2-4 so they're both hurting for a better QB
like from a outsiders perspective, none of those are like veto-able right
like pretty solid trades?
I think you come out ahead on pretty much all of those trades, but it's nothing egregious. If I'm Carr owner I'm likely waiting on Carr. If I'm Big Ben I might be nervous enough to pull trigger
maybe i'm streaming terrible dj right now if i am its here

also i have this weird situation where i might end up with the jags, lions and vikings on my roster
currently have the jags, but i picked up the vikings in anticipation of week 8
but someone else dropped the Lions so now i'm putting in a waiver for them
so i'm thinking play the jags this week
play vikings next week against the browns, then drop them after that and play the Lions going forward
Lions week 9 - 15 is:
GB, CLE, CHI, MIN, BAL, TB, CHI
Of note: Arizona @ LAR in London. But not nationally broadcast. So 1p/10a start time?
Also:
Dallas @ San Francisco (LATE)
Huh... Dallas gets a (LATE) game on FOX. Well, at least no Aikman, Right?
Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman
Sonofabitch!
I do enjoy that there appears to be a fist giving the finger plastered up in Minnesota.
Also, too:
It's weird that CBS gets SEA/NYG and FOX gets NYJ/MIA.
I swear to Christ, there is a clause in Aikman's contract that he gets to broadcast as many Cowboys games as humanly possible.
Which stinks, because ex-Sirius NFL broadcaster Tim Ryan is a FOX color commentary in the SF area (former USC standout that didn't do much for the Bears in 86~88 timeline who married a Raiders cheerleader; he's also the guy who helped with the DVD/audio portion of Pat Kirwan's Xs and Os book).

Goodell had a presser today where he double down on not saying anything specific. Just reiterated "should stand" and then talked about working towards underlying issues.

You're not wrong, but you're also talking about a fairly deep position. Dunno how scoring is in your league but to date Brees is averaging QB10 numbers. Granted Big Ben is a whole lot worse than that, but if he can get someone comparable to Brees or a bit weaker from free agency, what incentive is there to make your team stronger or sacrifice a strong bye week option?
Or hell, maybe he just really believes in Ben and thinks he'll turn it around after a few abnormal performances! Could be a lot of reasons behind his decision.

I'm on a win streak
News coming out that he's able to play for the next two weeks?
Yes he's able to play while the judge presiding over this mess is on vacation
Asking for a friend.

Just enough for another top five pick.
And no matter what their secondary will still suck out loud, though.
oh my god
reading that wiki article is almost giving me flashbacks as a vikings fan
remember that playoff game vs the Packers where Joe Webb was your starting QB?
remember when he was getting sacked and decided to just throw the ball straight up in the air?
I remember

Poor, betrayed-by-Trump Rex Ryan has gone full Manafort and flipped
maybe i'm streaming terrible dj right now if i am its here
but if you're starving for a flex player and don't like someone on your bench ( ISAIAH CROWELL )
then I think Robby Anderson is a solid pick up
yes he's on the jets and yes he only has 1 td so far
but he also has 41 targets so far
which is the same as Chris Hogan, Brandin Cooks, OBJ before he got hurt, Tyreek Hill
and more than Hilton, Baldwin, Nelson, Julio and the list goes on
just saying
McCown is trying to give him the ball and eventually I think that damn is gonna break
not saying he should replace your starters
but i think he's a good chance for double digits flex play if you need it
and he's only owned in 13% of leagues

in a league
I have Drew Brees and Alex Smith
and i need a W/R after losing O'dell
one dude has Big Ben with AB, Larry and Dez as his receivers

honestly i feel like trading Brees for any of those receivers except Kearse would be worth it for me right?

meanwhile the Jags get:
CIN, LAC, CLE, ARI, IND, SEA, HOU
feel like either team could do well here but Lions definitely are facing the lesser potent offenses
so maybe try and offload Jags on someone? Dude in my league has both Brate and Graham so i can see him maybe making that trade?
Even if i make the trade this week I can still play VIK against BAL and feel fine about it

Arch,

i offered him an upgrade at QB for his 7th place scoring flex player and he declined it
have fun sitting at 2-4 with 100 points on your bench every week i guess
Arch,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_goGR39m2k
maybe but it's more about upgrading your weak points when you have dearth of options that are just sitting on your bench
he gets a valid upgrade at QB and gives up a player who can easily be replaced by someone on his bench and not lose any value
