CBS working on a Magnum PI reboot, written by Peter Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim (Hawaii Five-0 reboot), executive produced by John Davis and John Fox (The Blacklist)

Last I read about this was more continuation than reboot, with his daughter from the end of the show as the lead character.

    Speaking of dope-sounding script pickups
Created and written by Lucas Brown Eyes, Reservations is based on his real-life story. The comedy follows a Native American family that trades their impoverished reservation for Los Angeles, a move inspired by the dreams of a 14-year-old boy to live in Hollywood. But adjusting to life in this new world of Teslas and $10 lattes proves to be weirder and more complicated than this loud, proud and tight-knit family was expecting.

This is only the second indigenous TV comedy to ever get a script pickup. The first never made it to pilot, let alone to air, but fingers crossed on this one!

    good place thoughts
i was worried the plot was going to stall out a bit, i'm glad it's moving along at a steady pace

tahani/jason makes sense, he's hot and nice to her and that's all she needs really. it's not like she's going to marry the guy

chidi being a terrible ethics professor and failing to ask obvious questions about e.g. whether or not michael is even physically capable of feeling regret continues to frustrate, but it's kind of baked in to the premise of the show so what are you going to do. besides it's not like it's unrealistic

some of the dialogue is a bit forced. i'm pretty done with the joke where tahani talks about knowing famous people

Where's my Samurai Pizza Cats reboot?

While I was on a pizza delivery once, this adorable cat runs in the door when they open it, instantly causing a room full of "adults" to lose their shit and wing the poor little guy back out the door past me, then come to me and say that they just moved in and last owners abandoned him there and he keeps trying to get in and they'll give me 20$ to ditch him far down the highway so he can't find his way back.

I totally took his money, then brought the lil guy home, and since he was a Pizza Cat, what else could I name him but Samurai!
Still can't believe not just one but two families could resist/abandon this photogenic lil bugger!

I was lukewarm on last week’s Crazy Ex

    This ep was way better

Josh’s song (and Josh’s storyline in general) was really great

I really didn’t like Nathaniel when he first turned up, but I’m warming up to him a lot lately

Rebecca’s reprise of Everything I Did For You was great

New opening didn’t work for me, but it took me a while to get on board with last seasons’s and it definitely grew on me

Has anyone heard anything about Nirvanna The Band The Show season 2? Apparently it's coming out soon Wikipedia has the release as the 27th of October with a link to a video that as far as I can tell Viceland has removed, can still get to the title of the video saying it's coming out on the 27th though.

Gunpowder is a three part series that just started airing here in the UK, in time to finish for bonfire night because of course.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBFcpJfxEFk

It's pretty solid, but grisly (as in, Medieval Executions grisly) as the stakes are set in the first 10 minutes or so. Liv Tyler hasn't really been given much to go on after the first episode, but in the plus column, Mark Gatiss has done another of his delightfully slimy Civil Servants as Sir Robert Cecil, spymaster to the King.

Might be worth a look if you enjoyed Wolf Hall or Taboo (although it's not looking to be as bonkers as that was and doesn't really have the questionable grab bag of appropriated mysticism either)

We finished season one of mad men and are now through the first few episodes of season two. Draper is now full on sexually assaulting a woman as part of his business practices. So that's great.

So last night I was over at a friend's apartment, and he started talking up Band of Brothers and put on the first episode

And I was not sober, so it may have been me

But it sure seemed to me that every character was seconds away from making out with whoever they were talking to, their faces were so close and they were very passionate

I almost thought that maybe that was the show's thing, that it was either a historical or hypothetical account of a WWII platoon where several soldiers fell in love with each other

Is this like a common observation or was I seeing things?

Watched the first season of American Gods. Liked it a lot. Mad Sweeney is probably my favorite character right now.

Felt a bit let down by where they left off, and a bit surprised they haven't even gotten to
    The House on the Rock
yet. And no, seeing the sign doesn't count.

B99 S4 is real good. I just watched the episode with the tv series and I don't know what I love more: Nathan Fillion's character, the eyebrow pumping scene or the final scene involving "Jake Peralta"

Yesterday's DuckTales was probably the best use of Flintheart Glomgold in either of the cartoons.

I'd caught an episode or two of Superstore on TV and liked it and somebody here said something nice about it so I decided to watch the whole thing because it's the weekend and my life is empty.

Anyway, Ben Feldman and Eliza Coupe are hooking up and this is... this is doing things to me.

Is Glomgold Afrikaans in the new cartoon?
