1. Play Card. Protection: Flip the current event card face down. Its effects no longer apply. Hopelessness is removed. I have a feeling that could seriously bite us in the ass regardless of killing generals.
2. Move towards Chancellor
3. Move towards Chancellor
I think I've used up 4 resources to move since 1 for me and 1 for the forests, unless Annalie is out of the town.
Action 1: Play Repentance; have a defeated empire character of your choice become your ally. Irwin of the Twin Stars is now my ally, granting me +1 die and the ability to ally with his sister.
March NE, attacking the two lonely troops stationed there. Costs 2 resources (2 troops), -1 for the road, = 1 resource. Resources: 10->9.
BATTLE!
I have 2 soldiers, +1 for the twin, +3 for ATTACKING!, equals 6. I hit on a 3 or better, miss on a 2, and fail on a 1.
First, play Divine Favor: gain 3 actions
6 Actions left in total.
2. Move N (-8 resources)
3. Powerful Magic- Use 1 action - Destroy all soldiers in an adjacent space or any space in your area. - Hit Twin to remove all his Soldiers
4. Move N onto twin (6 resources + spend 3 to add 4 dice)
Geth, roll 10d6t4 for Time to die! (6 soldiers plus 4 ally dice)
You only had 8 dice for this. -2 for the twin being in a castle
Had the dwarf hero turn into an absolute power house. Got both twins + black drake as allies plus some other stuff. He ended up at having thirteen combat dice that hit on 3-6 (2-6 when defending). We just fed him supplies and he ran all the way to the capital. One turn he used all four actions on moving, killing the necromancer and stopping right next to the emperor. Would have easily killed him next turn.
Now, the princess had 5 soldiers the previous turn, but reduced to 3 this turn. She also had an event card that would move her 3 spaces. Half the players didn't realize the event card was there. The other half knew the card was there, but didn't realize she was down to 3 soldiers instead of 5.
With the monster dwarf poised to wiped out the emperor next turn, the princess moves 4 spaces, supplies right on the capital city for 5 more supply, and uses her last action to move onto the emperor, taking 12 damage and promptly exploding into a million piece
id like to get a game of this going on tabletop simulator, but no one has workshoped a mod of the game in yet. i might have to do it here if it takes a bit longer...
Enemies with red backgrounds are aggressive, and will begin moving towards the nearest kingdom hero 1 space per turn as soon as one enters within a 1 area range.
Blue background: defensive, will never move.
White: Will move only to attack adjacent kingdom hero.
Remember you must pause and draw a fate card the first time a character moves into the same area or adjacent space as an empire general (exceptions: Black Knight, King of the Abyss, Emperor).
Empire Generals
Fate:
Lyla- Love at first sight: When a character of the opposite sex moves adjacent to them, they become that character's ally.
Kingdom Heroes
Donia 1/4 health
Elf King 4/5 health
Allies
Zyne: (Black Drake) May spend 3 supply to add 4 dice once per battle.
Elf King: (Irwin) +1 battle die, Marianne allies if defeated, reroll 2 dice if Marianne ally
Cards
(Zyne) Master's Armor- ongoing: Gain 1 die when defending
(Godfried) Balanced Weapons- Gain 1 battle die.
Stage III has been reached. If the Princess does not reach the capital alive by the end of turn 10, the game ends in defeat.
How had the Princess' march managed to make it so far? What started as a suicide run had picked up and managed to carve their way through half the occupied territory towards the capital. How did this ad hoc army fight through the imperial forces that had managed to route Astoria's army in its prime?
The scribes analyzing captured documents painted the picture. The invasion had cost the Imperials more than they first thought. The remainder of their forces were dispersed and focused on pacification. The larger legions had been broken up as rivalries between their generals drove them to isolate themselves and greedily carve out their own new fiefdoms. None of them imagined as concentrated a counter offensive from the remaining unoccupied territories.
The surprise was gone now. Already couriers had been intercepted showing renewed coordination between the enemy commanders. Their forces were now pulling up stakes and converging on the advancing Princess.
Far more terrible was the report from the last remaining long range outposts. Dust clouds had been spotted on the roads to Legania. Fresh reserves were marching up from the Imperial capital, as large as the initial invasion force. This time there was no full strength Astorian army to stand against them.
Victory had to come now. A last drive to cut off the head before the reinforcements arrived.
Event (Stage III)
Total War: (ongoing)- All empire characters except the emperor become aggressive.
Dark Rituals: (ongoing)- The princess loses 1 health at the start of each princess step. Kingdom characters on the same area as the princess may take this damage instead of her.
(next event via Donia scouting)
Curse of Immortality: Choose 1 defeated Empire character. Place them on a space adjacent to the Emperor.
does the empire move before or after the card flip? if before, no if after, yes.
btw, godfried is going to use all three actions to move towards the chancellor. that will put me in contact with a set of enemy troops so i will need troops at some point before the empire attacks me
I think is too late for trying the black knight, Zyne should go fall in love with Lyla and support the princess on the final assault, while Elf king go after the other twin and cover our northern flank aganist vampire than going killing all the troops he can in the city to clean up the road for the princess. Godfried need to go straight for the chancellor to atract the 3 troops in front of him, so they don't pile on the chancellor (and so he need troops to fight them). I'll go in Phyphor tile where we both try to work out the logistics. Any better Ideas?

I'd have to move 4 spaces to be able to do that, which I believe is 23 resources (if I counted right). I don't see that as all that feasible.

@AustinP0027 I could move straight north instead, so you could send me your troops and move in the castle next to the princess, romancing Lyla first thing next turn. More feasible?
Because I could delay her a bit, if we had more time to burn.
I'm able to reposition her but do not see how it could help at the moment. For example, put her between lakes. Then on her move she will go to twin castle and collect resources, so we will have time to clean her path?

Who is the first, btw?
@Daemonis. You are. Would be really great to reposition the princess. Because if we don't she'll burn all her troops aganist 7 stupid troops...

I can send troops to whomever. Since I won't be banging against Black Knight, sending my troops to someone else who can use them is probably better.
Play Advance: Move the princess 2 spaces in any direction without cost - move the princess to NE twice (in the middle of twin's tile)

ok annalie acts before godfried
and godfried acts before josephene.
annalie is going to have to be the one to give me troops if we dont want to hurt our supply routing with josephene.
looking over the board, i dont need a full compliment of troops just yet. i just need to be sure i can get into town, which i can with zero loss and then withstand the counter attack from the chancellor.
when enemies are aggressive, can we choose whether they move towards the princess or towards the allied general? or only if it is equidistant?

It's just the minimum is always 1 supply, so moving with zero soldiers would still cost 1 whether it's normal terrain or +1 cost terrain.

I have 3 soldiers and 4 resources
Gain 1 soldier and 5 R for free
Move NW 1 space (-3R)
Send the princess 4 soldiers
Move NW (-1R)
Should leave me with 5R and no soldiers and in the ice lord's castle
You only had 8 dice for this. -2 for the twin being in a castle
geth roll 8d6t4
That would be 6 left.

Updated this, but I left the game in my car which is now at the shop. Have to wait until I get it back later today for the cards.
I can post the updated map/supply situation (with last turn's events).

yea. i need to spend all my time moving towards the chancellor.
Ill need my full compliment of 5 troops, but im confident i can execute the chancellor on turn 8, definitely turn 9.
before i move, i would need 5 troops and 9 resources so that i can get stuck in the city and supply myself.
after i move, it would be 5 troops and 3 resources
