I have a soft spot for early 20th century noir detectives because they're usually not actually very good at their jobs and their lives are a mess but they can wisecrack with the best of 'em.
A shame about all the misogyny, homophobia, and general toxic masculinity, though.

He also drives a sweet car, that is constantly getting wrecked, loves tacos, hangs out with his dad fishing, and is James Garner.

Pretty sure you got away with murder and assassinated all the other players if you collected your character's own cards.
And the two detectives actually mesh well, instead of the constant bickering that accompanies these type of shows.
