After more than a few years of trying, Major League Soccer is coming to Sacramento.
California's capital city has been awarded an MLS expansion team with Sacramento Republic FC becoming the league's 29th team and beginning play in MLS in 2022. The club will build a new, $300 million, 20,100-seat soccer stadium in the downtown Railyards District.
I was actually in the bar when they announced a contest to pick the name/colors for the USL team, where things were presented on a goddamn overhead projector, so it's really neat to see this come to fruition. I'm not a season ticket holder anymore (turns out that buying a house and getting married makes STs which were already in MLS price range a smidge too expensive to justify for a USL team....to say nothing of time constraints when in a steady relationship with someone who isn't as interested in the sport ), but I'm super happy that it finally happened. It'd become a running joke that it wouldn't, after how many times they moved the goalposts.
Spurs haven't won an away game in something like 10 months. Their form since February has been poor. Looking at the last 12 games of last season, it was 3 wins, 3 draws and 6 losses. This season seems to have continued that form if anything. The Champions League did a lot to distract tbh.

Too bad they couldn't find the right parking spot.

Man, Mossy had multiple seasons as first choice in Wellington. You think he'd be able to read a strong breeze.

Brutal result from that tackle.
Not really the tackle. Looked more like bad landing/luck. I'm guessing red gets rescinded upon further review.

And Son's been looking pretty inconsolable about it.
