I can see good things about it but I dislike how clicking on Library takes me to a screen filled with tile icons of the games in my library giving me a graphical reminder of all the games I haven't finished or played staring at me.
I enjoyed that far more than I expected I would. Thank you for posting this.

Good to know that Bowling for Soup's "1985" now has a companion song . . .
So, I think today I might start Dragon Quest Heroes. My understanding is that it's Dynasty Warriors: Dragon Quest, and I'm down for that. Also it should be much more kid friendly than Mad Max.

Humble Choice, the updated and more expensive Humble Monthly, will be coming out on December 6th. If you want to keep the cheaper classic plan you'll need to have an active sub going before it changes.

A few of the references to commercials for products aimed at girls flew over my head but I love how the references to The Sims 1 involve things catching on fire.
Plus opening the song part with a dialup modem connection sound sets the tone really well.

I was on the edge of 30, and glad to have made it there instead of one more casualty in a Global Thermonuclear War.

I was told duck & cover would save me so I never worried about stuff like that.

One of my favorite things about the manual for Fallout 1 was that the survival guide theme went into information about what happens during a nuclear explosion beyond producing a big old mushroom cloud, namely that a nuclear bomb was still a bomb and causes two waves of high air pressure from both the initial explosion and then air rushing back in to equalize the local atmosphere. While it did a joking image about ducking under a desk during a nuclear explosion, it also became clear from reading the text that while duck and cover would be useless for anyone close enough to ground zero to be turned to ash, depending on the bomb there could be a large area where the immediate source of injury would be from debris being flung around and windows being shattered. It would suck to be outside of the immediate death radius only to die from a tree branch flung through a window.
The sequel didn't do this as there was now a story to recap but the first game wanting to through the player into the world with little idea of what happened to the world lent itself to a different approach.

Speaking of, I fully expect Norman reedus wang mods once Death Stranding releases on Steam. Not that modders would have to do much, just remove the AMC Norman Reedus Show ads from the bathroom
(Also, from the hour or so I've played so far, I love DS. It's essentially a Crosscountry Package Delivery Man sim, with some full on Kojima movie cutscenes thrown in. As a former package delivery man though, I'm probably biased)
Gotta admit, I don't love the new Steam layout. I've never been a big proponent of forced change on a lot of platforms though. I lost my shit when Twitter changed their layout, to the point I sought out browser add-ons that reverted it.
Grumpy old dude.

"Cockwork Industries Complete" is now a game that is on Steam.
There's no typo in that sentence.
Blimey, that is certainly A Thing.
Hmmmm. Might get my small human a GBA instead of a Steam account when the time comes, I reckon.

Steam does have "Family View", which can let you lock down an account from even being able to access the store. Unfortunately, I don't see a good way to allow access to the store, but still password-protect access to adult titles, which is a problem when even the screenshots are highly explicit. (You can hide adult titles, but you can't lock that setting down.) I guess by the time your kid is old enough to do that, they're also old enough to open a second Steam account behind your back, or just look at porn the regular way, but this still seems like an oversight.
