I don't understand why there are two people playing Mando? One person is the movements, one person is the voice (and 5 seconds of facetime), is that right?

IIRC there are like 3 people who played him last season. One did the majority of the on-screen work, one did the heavy/specialized stunt work, and Pedro Pascal did the voice and the scene(s) where his face was visible. I'm sure you can dig up even more who played him for a variety of other reasons for much smaller increments of time.

Rumor is Pedro Pascal wanted more scenes with the helmet off in season 2, butting heads with the Favreau and Filoni then trying to go over their heads to Lucasfilm... and got told to walk off set because of it.
Which, hey. If you're portraying the character, I understand wanting your face to be associated with it. But at the same time ... That's not the role. You knew what the role was. (if the rumors are true, which, meh, rumors)
Only place I've seen this is We Got This Covered which is basically a straight up tabloid that makes 99.99% of its news up.

Folks, please keep in mind that it is not the first time in the franchise that a character's portrayal is a composite of different actors.

Yeah, this is not new. It's just that in this case the allocated screen time is skewed because Mando has his helmet on the vast majority of time, and the "main face" actor apparently didn't do a lot of the work beyond a handful of scenes. Also, we're talking about the titular character rather than supporting cast.

That's about what happened with Vader in the OT. Only add a fourth for the unmasked and ghost appearances. And a fifth when they replaced his old-man ghost with Anakin's actor from the PT.
Mando plainly has no fuckin' idea whose armor he's got, buuut certain other people would certainly be able to recognize it...
As usual the show strides a weird line between pretty fuckin' great and weird and awkward. But that kinda seems like a Filoni trademark at this point.

Fun fact, the guy on screen most of the time is John Wayne's grandson.
I audibly said "No way" when Boba's armor showed up then again when it was Timothy Oliphant under it. Then again after Temura Morrison showed up at the end
was pointed out to me Cobbs ride was one Anakin's Podracer engines
Edit: Totally didn't notice that was John Leguizamo in the beginning

Oh that was driving me crazy. He was doing his clown voice!
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
That episode was good stuff. Love the episodes that explore the background of the peoples in the Star Wars universe, like the Jawas one from last series. Sandpeople this time. Makes Anakin even more of a dick. And how much credit do you need to give those Jawas, just knocking the marshal on the head and taking his crystals was the obvious move, instead they acted very honorably.
Several times the bantha caravan given some nice screen time to let it sink in and get us in the desert mood.
Fantastic to finally see Boba Fett's back missile used.
And the special effects for the jetpacks were on point, looked great.
Well I knew going in he was in this season and the character he was playing. But it was still nice to see him basically be playing Star Wars Raylan, same mannerisms and temper (the argument with the sand people classic Raylan).
My only real issue was what eventually worked as a resolution should have been plan A from the start, but minor quibble they wanted the spectacle for the thing.
So Bald guy at the end totally Boba Fett right?
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Yeah that’s Fett pretty sure. Wife and I are curious about the weaponry he’s got strapped to his back.
I think I might have known and then forgot Olyphant was in the season now that I think about it. But it was like 35 years ago last February or whenever that info was released.
Weaponry looked like sand people stuff, their sticks and rifle. Also one of their cloaks. You know thinking on it, might not be Boba Fett, could be the person who taught the mando about Sand People, he seems to be one of the only characters in star wars who doesn't just shoot them on sight as that's a plot hook I really would like to know a little bit more on.
I totally missed the opening alien was John Leguizamo.

There’s NO WAY one of those would fit inside a lightsaber!

For the end cameo spoiler
it is either Boba Fett or one of the surviving clones from the clone wars. It was definitely the actor for the clones and Boba Fett is a clone that was made to age at a regular rate.
As soon as the alien mentioned Tatooine I was sure Boba Fett was going to be involved. Then I saw the Marshall in the armor and I was pretty confident Boba Fett survived the pit and then we got the cameo at the end.
I really really liked the first episode of season 2. Lots of really interesting details that are easy to miss like the pod racer engine speeder bike.

Awesome episode and great way to kick off season 2
tons of little easter eggs, my favorite was the marshal running from Mos Pelgo after the mining guild assault and grabbing the fucking camtono of all things

They are at opposite ends, though. Pedro is more like JEJ, except he gets to be the face when the mask comes off.

To be fair they used Spotchka in season 1 in the sanctuary episode. They just didn't have the smooth drink of water Timothy O to sell it.
