I'm actually pretty excited about the Danganronpa episodes now. If the anime is anything to go by, from here on out until the end there's gonna be a bunch of wild shit that I can't wait to hear the Grumps comment on.
I liked the DR3 anime somewhat, I think it’s just kind of disappointing. But I’d rather have it than not have any closure at all.
My one big issue with it is(BIG FULL DR SERIES SPOILERS):
Changing Junko from a cult of personality figure who uses her charisma and Ultimate Analysis talent to manipulate and brainwash people into following her and her ideology, into just having a literal brainwashing machine, really sucked. It not only diminished her as a villain, but it diminished the tragedy of the fall of the DR2 cast.
I get the sentiment but I kinda disagree.
While Junko does use the brainwashing device to seal the deal she still used her pure charismatic malice and planning to make it happen. The death she made them all witness that cause them to spiral into despair and give in was 100% her manipulating things to end up that way so I don’t think it takes much away from her at all.
Toko: "I'm not going to be taken out for killing some woman! If I'm gonna die, I want it to be for killing Master!"
Arin: "Ha ha, hell yeah. You know what, Genocide Jill? You're alright."
Dan: "As long as you take out Byakuya, all is forgiven."
Dan: "Aww, that's a cute...Genocide Jill picture."
Byakuya: "I think it's obvious there's more to this case."
Dan: "Then just say it, then, you dickbag!"
Arin: "SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!"
Dan: "Or, better than shutting up, just say the thing."
Arin: "If everyone murders Byakuya at once do they all get to graduate???"
Dan: "I swear to God if it's not Hina I'm gonna lose my mind."
I don't know what it is, but this episode is especially funny to me.
Dan and Arin talking about how they acted like aliens at a TOOL concert is the funniest fucking thing I've listened to in a while.
THAT WAS ALSO ENJOYABLE TO MY HU-MAN EARS
I can 100% see them doing this at a concert. And the fact that Dan could hear Arin still doing it even though he wasn't near him really gets me.

I see they have come to a similar conclusion about Hiro that I did.
That dumb motherfucker.

Are you guys talking about the old bit from years ago or did they bring it up again during Danganronpa?

I'm sorry yeah I was going through the Mario Maker 1 videos and completely forgot about this bit.

I like how in the recent episode
Dan calls out Hiro for being dumb and uses the actual correct theory of the case as his example in mocking him two seconds before the truth is revealed.

I've been making my way through the Dark Souls 3 series and it's really making me want to play the game even though I know I will rage quit 5 minutes into it.
I also appreciate that some of the intros to the videos has Arin saying some positive stuff.

DS3 is by a long shot the hardest in the series, too.

You should totally do it and record the ragequit.
For science.
There's enough man-child videos on the internet... I don't need to add another! haha

Serious question tho: How far have you gotten in DS3?

I played DS1 for about an hour and quit. Haven't touched it since.
Unless you mean the GG Series: I'm on part 47 (half paying attention as I work) where Dan is talking about how he'd love to have sex with a girl doggystyle and while she isn't paying attention he'd put on a clown mask.

I'm curoius as to why it's considered the hardest. I would argue they've gotten progressively easier, but maybe i've just gotten more aclimated. DS3 was the only one i considred possibly 100%-ing, but i also have terrible memory so maybe i just dont remember it.

Having gone through a whole Dark Souls thing during this pandemic, I went back and re-played DS2 and DS1. And then did a full run of DS3 afterwards.
DS3 is by far the hardest, if nothing else but because the enemies move a lot faster. And the bosses? Gael is the hardest boss in the entire series.
DS3 has fast Bloodborne enemies while still keeping the player a slow-ass Dark Souls.
Thankfully it's a LESS slow-ass Dark Souls, but yeah, you definitely have to know their attacks front and back because reactionary play can fucking destroy you
I'm watching him fight Aldrich and holy fuck how are you supposed to beat this boss?
Dodge the swipes towards alrich, run diagonally to avoid the blobs he shoots, run at angles to avoid arrows, roll away when he goes below to avoid the shockwaves, and keep in mind he always appears in the direct opposite side of the stage from where you are.
He's super fucking difficult even when you "know" how to fight him.

Let me know when they get to the Dancer or Lothric and Lorian.

Different strokes and all. It took me two tries.
I think Manus is the longest a Dark Souls boss took me, but I had no idea what I was doing in the game.
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

I actually found Aldrich quite easy once I figured out which attacks needed to be sprinted rather than rolled. I farmed most of my Sunlight Medals against him since a lot of players seemed to need the help. Unfortunately it's been enough years now that it's hard to remember specific advice.

He's generally seen as one of the tougher enemies in the game, I still get that heartrate up because one mistimed arrow sprint means you're ground beef.
Arin made the right choice in not exposing Kyoko's lie. Doing so results in Kyoko's execution and the Bad Ending where the survivors decide to just live the rest of their lives in the school (except Toko, who apparently commits suicide).
I like how into the story Dan is at this point.
BTW, looking into it on both the Danganronpa wiki and TVTropes, Toko's backstory is pretty dark, and I kinda wish Arin haf done at least a few free time events with her.
Her father got two women pregnant who delivered on the same day, but one baby died. Neither woman wanted to know if it was her daughter that died, so both women claimed Toko as their own and moved in with the father. They all abused her, at one point locking her in a dark closet without food for three days. Her DID arose as a coping mechanism to the abuse she'd suffered.
Among the things you find out about Toko in the free time events are that the only time she'd ever been on a date is when a guy lost a bet and was dared into going out with her, and the first time she wrote a boy a love letter he put it up on the class bulletin board before telling her that he hated her because other kids made fun of him because she talked to him so much. She became a romance novel author so she could create fantasies for herself to imagine what being in a loving relationship would be like. Makoto eventually inspires her to begin writing a novel based more on her own life experiences, which Makoto describes as good, but really dark.
The Genocide Jack free time events, in contrast, only reveal that she doesn't want to kill Byakuya and won't ever murder again because that would be "cheating" on him.

Well... it's worth noting that it's a "Bad Ending" only insofar as it refuses to advance the game further if you click it. It loops back into the plot from the dialog option and goes "no no no, that would be horrible, I should do the other thing".
Don't mind me, just quibbling over terms.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
