I learned some sad news after catching the latest Rubber Ross video and noticed the comments are mostly offer of support. So I went to his Twitter and learned that his mother passed away earlier this week. Apparently the cancer that caused a scare a few years ago came back, so it wasn't a shock at the time, though obviously still tragic.
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

yeah, i saw that and i just feel for the guy, even if it wasn't covid the damnable virus kept him from being with his family at this time and that's heartbreaking. in an odd coincidence, a podcaster i follow, Robert Evans' mom also passed away today from cancer, so my twitter feed was filled with condolences, which is a heavy mood. i am not the type to feel that was anything more than a sad coincidence, still was a heavy moment of empathy for two creators i respect and care about as people. strange convergences like that are an odd burden of the social internet, i just wanted to acknowledge it in some way, as i can contribute to either person is the detached empathy of a stranger.

Him yelling in a Sonic game is great. Him yelling in a chess game isn't (for me). The chess video would be so good to put on in the background while you're trying to sleep.
It's funny that most of their deep conversations happen in games where a ton of shit is going on. And then while they play chess Arin screams like my 6 year old lol
I hope to God they play more Ultimate Chicken Horse. This is such a great video.

i mean i probably won't see it because everything DC Snyder touch emphasizes every wrong possible tone and idea that one could extract from the characters in my opinion but i could appreciate that he understood it.
i do not know how anyone who was a fan introduced to DC through the animated universe of the 90s could like anything about them, all of his movies are plots or concepts done in the DCAU but instead everything looks like shit and all the characters are dumb assholes.
and i liked his Watchman, I mean it was still a shitty adaptation but where the visuals worked they really worked. can't say that about a frame of Snyder's DC movies. so i feel i would've reacted with similar fervor.

Yeah, while I'm mostly just enjoying Arin's general rage, a lot of his issues with the game are pretty major problems. This one's more minor, but some of the things that have happened in this playthrough are really inexcusable. I'm glad he figured out that some of his camera issues were a problem with his controller, though. I gotta imagine that was infuriating for people who have played the game before.

Dans really leaning into the whole "everyones offended!" thing in the last few episodes and it's kinda starting to grate my nerves
I think the game might be a bit more involved than A Way Out for these two. First episode they're already dying at the easiest spots. And Dan's "Well I don't know what to do!" in the room with the fan, when he was literally standing in front of the solution killed me lol.
I initially wasn't going to watch the It Takes Two videos, but then I clicked on the latest one and saw an anthropomorphic vacuum cleaner being forced to suck out its own eyes before a talking hammer described rusting as "burning alive, slowly", so I'm on board.
I don't think It Takes Two will have the same unintentional hilarity as A Way Out, but it's surprisingly entertaining. I wonder if it will have multiple endings like A Way Out did.
My purely speculative, I know nothing about the game guess:
The game will end with both players being forced to decide, individually, to stay together or go with the divorce. There are four different endings, depending on if they stay together or divorce, and if they divorce, who made the decision or if it was mutual.

The "LAST TIME ON GAME GRUMPS" voice he's using is like nails on a chalkboard for me. The audio is also higher than when they're playing the game so it's always just loud.

I'm dying at Arin attempting to quickly explain everything that happens in the Kingdom Hearts mythos (and getting a lot wrong) to Dan during the opening theme.
Arin: "Okay so Xion opened the door that's supposed to be Kingdom Hearts."
Dan: "The door that's also a moon?"
Arin: "Yeah so there's three Kingdom Heartses. There's a Kingdom Hearts that's a door, there's a Kingdom Hearts that's a, uh, a moon, and a Kingdom Hearts that's another moon. The door Kingdom Hearts is the hearts of men, the moon Kingdom hearts is the hearts or worlds, and the other moon Kingdom Hearts is the hearts of worlds and men."

The Paper Mario series was one of their best ever with Dan playing, I have high hopes here.
