The last few days I decided to stop focusing on promoting operators, and instead actually finish leveling my top ones. Finally get my second unit to lvl 90, Exusiai (first one was sniper Ch'en)! Not sure who to work on next, I have SilverAsh, and support Skadi at 80, and Surtr and Thorns at 60. Probably won't get enough xp to do much before the next event starts.

The Avs were one win in the regular season from one-upping the 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors. Ah, well, I imagine they'd trade a lot more than one regular season win for the Cup.

Of these, my pick would be Surtr. But I would also ask, do you have all their key skills trained to M3, as you'd get a bigger quality difference out of doing that, vs level 90.

gonna be honest the Wings/Avs rivalry feels incredibly manufactured to me so i don't cling to it very tightly

This is genuinely the strangest thing I've ever heard unless you didn't watch hockey in 1996.

no i am fully aware of the history, it's more that it's like a ten year time period max and then one or the other team has been completely irrelevant so it feels more like a blip than this deeply held grudge

i mean i guess it is the case that holding on to grudges when your team is irrelevant is like 75% of sports fandom but
Oh OK, yeah I have no real opinion of the modern Avs. I thought you meant the actual 1996-2002 period felt manufactured.

this is like when people here say vancouver and boston have some great rivalry
like are you kidding? boston doens't even know vancouver exists
I feel like it was definitely a rivalry in the 90s, but also that was 20 years ago?
Pens Caps wasn't a rivalry in the 90s, but has been one since Crosby/Ovie in the mid 2000s. Or maybe it was but I was unaware because the Internet barely existed in the 90s.
These things change, except for in college and maybe in-state opponents
Both Sedins, Luongo, and Alfreddson make the Hall of Fame.

I have zero Operators at level 90 (my 6*s are sitting at like 50 or 60), mostly cause I wanna focus more on getting more E2s, BUT
that said
If I had to personally pick JUST ONE Operator in the game to go to E2 90 it'd be Skadi Alter. Her stat scaling is fucking insane and it's just plain linear gains all the way up. Like yeah yeah sure a nice OP carry burst dps Operator like Surtr or whoever's good too ofc but for me personally, I'd go with Skalter. If I put all my eggs into Skalter's basket she shares them with everyone else, everyone wins
Summer Ch’en is 75 and Skadi Alter is 71. SilverAsh, Surtr, Exusiai, Eyja, and Siege are 70. Maybe Bagpipe too. Rest are 60. It gets hella expensive and I’ve found that level 70 is almost always enough for them to accomplish what I need.
Outside of that I haven’t taken many past module level.
I realize that its probably the best way to min/max my resources, but the completionist (maybe not the right word?) in me kept wanting to have an operator "done". Though I'm not crazy/dedicated enough to M3 all the skills, having the most used skill M3'ed and level 90 is what I consider to be "done", and it is a satisfying feeling for me!
Thanks for all the input, everyone!

My real problem is that I'm always out of exp and money to level up my Ops that are already at E2 cause I keep leveling up Ops that aren't at E2
HMMMMM BIG MYSTERY
it's worth it though, like not even just 6*s either. there's a lot of really cool and fun and useful 5*s i've been pumping. La Pluma is fuckin' nuts, i have Ashlock ready to promote to E2 (holding off cause Break the Ice) but she's been paying off in spades (honestly forget the whole 3-block Defender deal and just use her as a long range phys aoe dps). i pair her with Weedy's S2M3 and she just constantly pushes enemies out into Ashlock's range it's GREATTT. also E2'd Astesia because I got her skin and I like her design (and honestly she's pretty good!! she's not Surtr sure but insofar as a frontline Arts Guard? yeah PRETTY GOOD)
Done with Season 3. Liked it overall, ending was a bit meh and fell a bit flat.
So did Hargreaves orchestrate the events of all 3 seasons, just so he could reset the universe? I am a bit fuzzy on that part.
Honestly I think he wasn't. He just jumped on the opportunity that presented itself
Hargreaves always seemed to have many plans going on, but Oblivion seemed to be one of his big ones. So Oblivion was always a goal, but it was only the second team that he had enough control over to attempt going for it. He fucked up with the first team and it fell apart, leaving just Luthor and that wasn't enough. The numbering seemed pretty specific in that regard, as he knew he specifically needed 7 supers with the dust treatment but not why he needed them.
But it seems strange to me that Hargreaves reset the universe such that he still ended up on Earth. Why wouldn't he reset things so that his homeworld wasn't destroyed? In fact, it sounds like Hargreaves has been on many worlds that were destroyed, so maybe the reason he looks human on that one world is that he wasn't native to it? Maybe that was simply the first planet he ever visited as part of his plans and he was unable to save it? We just assume it was his homeworld, but his plans and efforts towards Oblivion might have left a trail of destroyed worlds behind him. He wasn't always the heartless monster he is now, but time and loss have abraded away any feelings he had left except for new discoveries and his plans.
Dunno if we'll get another season, but my bet is that we would've found out that Hargreaves was involved with the sparkly power dust somehow and every other world he's been on has been destroyed by the results. Maybe he's trying to stop it from destroying Earth but has failed everywhere else. Maybe he released the stuff because it was time to make Oblivion work, so he's caused the destruction of those other worlds.
Regardless, for a 4th season I would like to see a) the show remembering Luther actually has powers and for him to end up ahead for one damn time and b) them to finally get to murder-stopping Hargreaves' alien ass before he starts twisting them into mental pretzels with lies and deals and shit. Also, for Allison to have to eat metaphorical shit for murdering somebody in the other universe, getting Luther killed, and basically betraying the entire team.
I have a bunch of 5* guards and Hellagur to E2. Flamebringer, Bibeak, Franka, Tequila, Indra, Astesia, Broca, Akafuyu... I might need to pick a few of them instead.
Oh and my favorite fact is that when McCarty beat Lemieux's ass the next year he only got a roughing double minor because I think the refs felt like it was deserved.
I kept thinking in my head, Lemieux had it coming. Did he deserve it? Yeah, he probably did. I still remember seeing Kris Draper's head all smacked up [in 1996] and he just looked terrible, and I think that's what this was all about. It was payback time, and it happened that night. Marc Crawford and my linesmen were a little upset that I didn't throw McCarty out. So I went over and explained to Crawford that, yes, McCarty should definitely have been thrown out. For some reason, I didn't give him the instigator and I should have. To this day, I really screwed up on that game. But in my heart I just said, you know what? Payback is a bitch.

Hell of a fucking chapter. God fucking damn. Took a hot minute but I got there. Caught up to Chapter 9! Just gotta get through that. Cleared up to 9-5, actually, but then my brain turned into fucking soup from all the Reading. END8-1, man, jesus. TEXT.
That aside, funny moment from JT8-3 when I was first making stabs at it and going like "Oh, okay, yknow this doesn't seem too bad-- WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK IS THIS STAGE, WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON, WHAT THE FUC
Spoilered for obvious reasons, but jesus that stage was nuts. Honestly, one of my favorite boss fights. They fucking nailed that shit so hard. They had a vision and feeling they wanted to capture for that one and they knocked it out of the park.
Chapter 8 just full of good fuckin' stages, goddamn.
I consider Metroid 3 and Zero Mission to be mostly chill. Unless you are specifically avoiding e-tank and missile upgrades, you can usually just tank most of the damage from bosses while spamming missiles and beat most of them without even trying too hard. I can't remember any super hard bosses in most of the SOTN-style Castlevania games either. Since these games usually litter the map with upgrades to encourage exploration, you can often get pretty overpowered and trivialize most of the late game difficulty.
Steamworld Dig 2 is pretty easy so long as you don't do the optional challenge dungeon. Personally, I found the recent Lodoss War game on Gamepass rather easy, but it may not be for players unfamiliar with this type of game.

IIRC for the advance and DS Castlevania games, COTM is pretty hard and grindy, Harmony of Dissonance is very easy from a gameplay standpoint but the castle can be a bit annoying to get around sometimes, Aria of Sorrow is pretty chill, then things get slighty more difficult with Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, but Order of Ecclesia is Dark-Souls-esque and pretty tough. Generally from Harmony to Portrait the first playthrough is easy on the player and the unlockable hard mode is where the challenge is, but Order just tosses you into the deep end right off.
Super Metroid and Zero Mission aren’t too tough at all, but Fusion has a fair amount of hard stuff in it.

Imo, it is good for your hitting sticks to hit as hard as possible. I haven't decided who should join this club next.
In even better news, I only have 21 units remaining who have not hit 200 Trust (one is brand new: Carnelian who was SUPPOSED to be Saileach).

Problem is that they're all good.
Wheels' attempt to make the Spirit Bomb didn't fail after all, it was just delayed.
Hell yeah, Rhine Lab event finally
Also, wow, did not expect Greyy Alter as the next timeskip 3* 4* glowup.
We also got Astesia's sister!!
5* Chain Caster with a focus on multi-targeting.
