For those who know more about Shadowrun than I do (which should be mostly everyone), is this going to take up a decent amount of time to either figure out how to play or play well?
Also, how long is this game going to be running? Zellpher, do you have an idea of a timeframe?
Thanks. I've got some time to play, but not enough for a potentially complicated game.

I'd say go for it. It shouldn't be anything foreign or complicated to you.
My own lack, sometimes I don't know what's going on in these things
I've got the same problem. Like in Phallanoia, I had *no* idea what was going on, I just waddled around confused until someone finally, mercifully, ended my life.
so in shadowrun what kind of trolls are we dealing with? voodoo or ogre or what? I need to figure how to RP in this one since I have no xp with this theme

Likewise. If someone could link to even a basic rundown, I'd be eternally grateful.

It's still phalla, shouldn't be too difficult.
Shadowrun is about cyberware, cyberspace, guns, magic and astral space.
Cyberware is simple- metal body bits and replaced organs that let you do stuff better/hit things harder.
Cyberspace is a virtual reality-like internet. you jack in and do like the matrix, basically.
Guns are self explanatory
Magic is pretty standard
Astral Space is the only really hard thing to explain. Astral space is on top of the normal world (a wall in this world is also a wall in astral space, though there are things that exist in one and not the other). Normally people are not in astral space. Astral Space can be perceived (stand there and concentrate, and you can see what's in astral space, and whatever is there can see you). Or you can project into it, so out of body type stuff. You don't want to get stuck in Astral Space and lose track of where your body is.
Anyway, I'm sure it'll be fine, Ardor. Definitely no guarantee this will be anything other than "shoot the bad guys", so come on in!

Trolls are just big, on average dumber humanoids. Discworld trolls without the "being made of rocks" is the best analogy I can find.
Dey probly talk like 'dis, doh I don' tink it's nes- nec- I don' tink you gotta.

Loved that game.
The RPG is a little better if you like pen and paper games. And by better I mean you can actually bitch slap the Trog whore named mudslide.
The vidja game is top notch though.
He's more into surviving past day 4 and thus being evil >_>
The funny thing is, I was good in the D&D phalla, but became evil by day 4.
And you enjoyed it, didn't you?
The defense rests, your honour.
Tehspectre is always evil in my book.
The only good TehSpectre is a dead TehSpectre
Village Failure rating {10% * Days TehSpectre is still alive}

If you only know about Shadowrun from the 360 game, then you need to bleach your gray matter.
Agreed.
Though the game wasn't TERRIBLE.
But it wasn't effing Shadowrun.

Think of it as a shanking with a little cleanup afterwards.
Looks like 11 more needed.
Thank you sir

Except one NEEDED note, Shadowrun did it first. I believe even Lawnmower man came after shadowrun.
Wiki says Neuromancer was 1984; Shadowrun wasn't published until 1989. So I'm going with William Gibson for first, here.
If so, color me a Human.
