Man I'm bad. I'm used to FoK where I can turtle until I can tech up. Holy shit 6 Squads of 24 Guardsmen with Sharpshooters, Carapace armor, Cameoline, and Chem inhalers, 6 special weapons, and 2 heavy weapons teams per squads. Anti-vehicle? I have meltas! And Lascannon/Autocannon guys! And sentinals, those buggers aren't too bad. Of course, If I tried to go Armored company I'd get destroyed. Man, I'm no good with tanks. And Chimeras. Screw Armored Fist Squads.

I have a question: Why are Assault Marines so expensive? I mean, they cost 220 req as opposed to 190 for a Tac squad, you need an armory to build them and they take 3 pop cap.
I have a feeling that something eludes me because while I think they are useful, they aren't that useful to me. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Without upgrades, they have more health and do more damage than a tac squad. They're also really fast and have the jumps, and early on can do a pretty good job on range specialists like fire warriors or dark reapers. I guess they can get those bombs too. Probably use them if you're up against tau.

So I read up a bit on Dark Eldar on the DoW Player's Wiki (great resource) and discovered that I play them completely wrong. Which isn't much of surprise, I guess, but I think I might be able to do a little better with them now.

For all of 2 days.
Build hellions. Destroy everything with them until you get jetbikes. Then destroy with the jetbikes.
I played Canem and I couldn't think of ANYTHING I could do against this. The hellions destroy my sisters and are only slightly worse than my seraphim. But seraphim cost more and require two buildings, hellions only one. They reinforce faster than my commander can kill them and they are fast enough that they are impossible to dance (except seraphim). They can also get to my base around the time I get my commander out.
And they do more damage against buildings (with no upgrades) than any jump troop other than vespid.
I'm not one to say IMBA IMBA IMBA, but damn me I need to figure out a way to counter them in the early game. (T2+ is easy, mass flamers and lay on hands.)
