Ah, a twist! I like a good twist in my phallas. :P
If we form a clan, do we have to make the names of the individual member tribes public?
Forming a clan must be done publically by all 3 founding members declaring so in the thread, however joining an existing clan may be handled privately, though narration may out members of a clan depending on their contribution to their brethren
How is membership determined in a clan forming? Does each person have to state who the other members are going to be? If not, does that mean anyone can join without input from the people wanting to start the clan?

How is clan membership determined? Should we list out the starting members in our !Form post? Do the original founder(s) then get to approve all new members?
Otherwise it seems that anyone can join any clan at any time....

Should you attack he who attacks you there be an impass and neither side be victor.
This point is simply to indicate that if opposing sides are of equal strength then it's a draw, right? Because as is it sounds like if I attack someone who attacks me, then we are at a draw no matter what. But it seems like that would be an easy way to void an attack even if the person attacking you has 15 people supporting or whatever.
hmmm. . . I don't know either. We could probably use some examples.
Like, for instance, it seems like B may be screwed in that scenario, since nothing is protecting against C. But what if B defended? Would the combined armies of D and B create a draw among C and A?
Haha this sounds intricate and fun, but I feel kind of sorry for Ryan. Examples are nice though!

Imagine all armies marching to meet eachother in battle.
A and C march twords B, on the way to B, B's army intercepts A's army and they fight, they're equally matched so both sides retreat. C's army continues on to B's village where they encounter D who is assisting them, D and C are equally matched and so both retreat.
The rule is simply in place to prevent half the population dying on night 1. Though in the following scenerio it is still possible.
A attacks B
B Attacks C
C attacks D
D attacks A
In this scenerio all 4 are killed.
The values are calculated by adding the totals on both sides. If A attacks B, and B defends, it's a push. If A attacks B and B attacks A, it's a push. There has to be a greater value on one side of the equation.
So what is the precise goal of defending instead of attacking an attacker? If more than one person is attacking you while you defend, you're outnumbered anyway.
And attacking the same target as someone or is not equivalent to assisting them?

Assisting is always a defensive action.
Defending is the default state, it means you keep your army at home, people who fail to submit a vote will be assumed to be defending.
Defending is better than attacking your attacker because it blocks any attacker, not just the one you specifically noticed and reacted to. If you attack your attacker then he's essentially commited to staying with you as his target. If you simply defend yourself he may switch targets later as it costs him nothing to do so.
I assume the difference is that if A attacks B, and B does nothing special, and D attacks A, A will lose. Because A's armies are out on the field against B, and A is completely defenseless against D. If A had defended, then he would have been there to guard against D.
That's how it works in my mind at least! And that's the important part! And there may be abilities that are battle dependent, like if you are attacking or defending or whatnot.

Yea there was a bit of confusion last night. It didn't occur to me that the clan would be this popular and have issues with who gets to join. To simplify things, the Blue Barracudas, Purple Parrots, and the Silver Snakes are forming the clan tonight. It seems risky to me to have too many people join at once because it greatly increases our odds of being infiltrated by whoever is controlling / serving the blight. If we end up controlling any useful boons, it would be nice not to let that information fall into evil hands at the very outset of war.

Once you have 3 forming members and have declared it in the thread, all of you should send me a PM with your founders names and Majority will rule.
Once those founders have been determined, 2 out of 3 of them can add new members.
