It's just funny that no one brings it up when looking at your resume.

Well yeah, but it's not like anyone ever brings up health regen either.

"So the last time you were shot, how long did it take you to heal up?"

    "About 30 seconds."

Pah, Jack Bauer is faster. 8-)

And please we do not forget that that guy has the power to bend space and time.

I want this in the Sequel. D: I want ALL awesome movie/book/tv spy powers.

The more I think about it, the stranger some of Mike's attributes are. Your health doesn't regenerate, but it does recover by scarfing down approximately 20 jars of pills and fluids in their entirety from a standardised medicine cabinet in locations ranging from a luxury yacht to an ancient fortress hewn from sandstone. Your armour does regenerate for some reason, even when it's a t-shirt and khakis, and can be bolstered by things as esoteric as the UST from your nerdy handler.

Playing as a melee-focused character would be nigh-impossible for me if I wasn't a walking bullet-sponge thanks to chunky but silent body armour and a host of various perks giving me bonuses.

The FYE pricedrop is a lie, for those who were planning on making use of it (because like myself they lack a local KMart).

There will be 2 non-moving horizontal strings of numbers in that field of shifting ones. No need to rotate or anything - just look carefully at the field to see the numbers that aren't changing. Then move the corresponding string of numbers from the top of the screen perfectly on top of this string, using the analogue sticks or the mouse + WSAD, and set them as described. If you're on KBAM, some people report problems with using the mouse (code on the right) to do this.

    And stealth/pistol/martial arts is god.

Pheh, you can pretty much dump all your AP into Assault rifles and break the game. There's no penalty for not stealthing. It's also nice to be able to use a gun on guys more than 20 ft away. Pistol range is ridiculously short. If I'm close enough to tag them with a pistol, I'm close enough to just jump out and kung-fu them.

I really like the game and what they were trying to do with it, though. Maybe an Alpha Protocol 2 streamline will make it perfect.

    Yep.

Likewise the Gadget and Stealth ranges. I think you need a score of 100 or more, but don't quote me on that.

Could never get 100 on the course, I take about 1:20-1:30 to finish.

Do you need to aim for not missing any shots at all or something? Like waiting until the rifle is completely zoomed in for a 3-shot critical? Or not spraying the SMG's?

    Wow, like.... ever?

You need to uhh... get some more satisfying things to do.

    Also yes, Pistol+Sabotage+Stealth+HandToHand = Godmode.

Also, this was confusing for me too a few times, but I figured it out. "Critical" on the training ranges is a headshot, not critical weapon hit.

Just aim for the head with Mina's challenge, you'll get over 100. The stealth one is self-explanatory in the summation, as is the gadget one.

There is a penalty for not stealthing, at least it affects the story in certain ways.

The game's a little unclear about what constitutes 'stealth' in plot terms, though.
On the Embassy mission, I went with Goose as my handler - he pointed out the alternate access. I used silent running to stealth take-down the solitary guard patrolling there, and then proceeded to use non-lethal force on the attackers throughout the mission (apart from the final escort bit, which I kept failing). The mission summary pointed out that I'd killed some US marines which, aside from that guy at the start, I'd never touched! And the only comments Goose had was that he was pleased I was keeping lethality to a minimum, and that I could do without setting off an alarm every 5 mins.

I did it on my second playthrough. I absolutly despised him in my first. Not to mention payback for Darcy's poster in every hub.

Though after I made my archer sterling playthrough I actually enjoyed him and think the reason why Thornton seems to take that stuff to every safehouse is this:

I played through the Detention Center mission (1 of the first 3) full stealth the first time, no alarms, no deaths and Darcy's email said something about sneaking inside then making my way back out like a god of war.

I did it again full-bore assault rifle run-and-gun and his email after the mission was over read the exact same way.

I honestly think only the conversations and secondary objectives affect storyline.

After about 5 skillups in AR and some weapon mods, it pretty much is a point and tap type experience. Long range sniper style kills or up close and personal bursts. Yes, I'm KILLING mans instead of evading them, so the story could go differently that way I suppose. Finishing missions in about one-third of the time it takes to stealth is fun, though.

I'll go back and play all stealth spy style for my Veteran playthrough.

I p[refer stealthing just because it gives me the opportunity to spend time exploring and such. By the end of the game I had max stealth, martial arts and about half of pistols. I dont see the point in sabotage since it seems to lean heavily on grenades and I just never used them.

The headshot thing is what I didn't know. I had great accuracy and great time, but only got maxed with a 74. I just thought the plywood would go down no matter where I shot it.

Hmmm... beat it. Liked the game overall quite a lot, flaws notwithstanding. It's ridiculous and clearly the worse for development hell, but it does entertain. The finale is deeply underwhelming though. Lots of the setpieces just feel rushed, the whole Big Reveal is very '...meh', the boss fights are just... sorry, it just didn't feel particularly satisfying frantically Chain Shotting all of them after hiding in a corner for a few seconds. Not to mention if I got a cutscene at all it showed me doing something completely different. Plus a last-minute twist says wha?

I liked it, but dear God, please, please, please, Obsidian, get a decent producer in? Learn some time management skills? It's frustrating being a fanboy sometimes - I couldn't be too down on anyone for hating this, though I don't think it deserves to be dismissed. Oh well. I'd like to give it at least one more playthrough, see about pissing a couple of people off, try a different skillset... the finale was horribly weighted against stealth, and without Chain Shot would have been near impossible.

I didn't have chainshot (only got it halfway through the end as I didn't skill pistols up at all - leveled up somewhere near the end of the whole thing, and it was only level 1 - didn't even use it) and I got through it fairly easily.

Okay I need you guys to help me out here.

Shaheed's ugly mini-boss on the bridge.

See. If I sneak up to him, I get the perk and the stealth objective complete. However the sneaking causes collateral damage death, and results in 5 orphans. It is possible to get 0 orphans by taking him out non-lethally.

What do I do? I don't want orphans (I finished my first game with those 5 orphans, damned the game entirely throughout for it), but I want the perk and the objective complete as well.
