Garrosh makes another stupid decision at the start of TH, though, so annoying.
I dunno, the alliance also hit the horde navy, so it kind of canceled out a potentially really bad situation of the alliance having a fully navy and the horde not having a damn thing to counter act it. Now its just both sides are messed up.
Also I doubt the air cover provided would have done shit against death wing and the twilight drakes. I mean even the red dragons struggled there.
Apparently, according to the Alliance quests, the Horde fleet ambushed them :P
I could swear I remembered reading somewhere that Varian had actually ordered the Alliance fleet not to engage the Horde but I'm having trouble finding that quest. Deathwing wasn't a part of the Horde event (at least, as far as I recall), but the fighters might have been some use in keeping the dragons from stripping almost all of the zeppelins from the fleet.

The fact that the alliance were idiots does not cancel out that Garrosh was an idiot.

In the zep event very clearly deathwing shows up with the twilight drakes.

Now they became war trolls! I flew over darkshore and really loved the look of the zone, the mini waterfall whirlpool was really cool looking.
I forget your side, but you have done the related Alliance quests? You kill all of their leaders and burn all of their buildings with the stated goal of wiping them out.
I never knew night elves could be so thirsty for genocide

I have done no alliance quests, they are not my faction anymore.
And Elves have been massacring trolls for ever. It's the one thing they have no qualms over (well that and causing all the problems in the world ever).

I did like how there is a horde fp there, that if you talk to him tells there are no flights under garrosh's orders. A pity. Oh well Ashenvale belongs to the horde.

Welp, our Baradin Hold raid is scheduled for about 30 minutes from now and we have been unable to capture TB for the past three days. This is going to be fun.

Sank the alliance fleet lost the zeps but still got the beachhead he needed, it all comes out in the wash.
You're kidding, right? They got their foothold due to the 'diplomacy' with the dragonmaw, and only got that far because of their navy, not their airforce. Garrosh lost the lives of his gunship pilots and his entire gunship fleet as well as cost the positioning of the goblin base to be totally fucked up by his unprovoked attack.

The new BG segmenting thing (every 5 levels as opposed to every 10) totally ruined me and my new lady-friend's night yesterday.
I really think they did the Garrosh air attack thing so they could hamfist some bullshit in like he actually died due to his stupidity was replaced by a dragon/demon and that's who's running the Horde right now.
To be fair, the Forsaken army did beat all the alliance in Hillsbrad as well as almost entirely annihilate Gilneas before the rest of the humans showed up to help. It was probably a bad thing that Worgen are apparently immune to their super-plague.
So what's the generally recommended raid order for a 10-man guild? We started with Blackwing Descent and got crushed by the first couple bosses. We tried Throne of the Four Winds today and got crushed again. We'll probably try Bastion of Twilight in a couple of days, but we're kind of getting frustrated.

Didn't the cataclysm wipe out Southshore with tidal waves though?
And the Alliance still maintain a base that is a hole in the fucking ground in Arathi, it's the least defensible position in the world ever.
I guess they won Andorhal though.
Horde won Andorhal.
And yes, Alliance being in Arathi is really dumb. I think it was just because of the proximity to wetlands for leveling progression; but since they have no presence in Hillsbrad, what is the point?

Securing supply and transportation lines between the Ironforge and Wildhammer Dwarves. They have that new tunnel connecting arathi to hinterlands that implies that, but they never bother to really flesh it out with the storyline (at least it didn't seem like it on Horde side, unlike the dustwallow highway)

In silverpine the Horde fleet (3 or 4 warships) gets taken out by a group of like..8 Worgen. Who have no seige weapons or heavy weapons whatsoever.
The Forsaken army also gets massacred at pretty much every turn throughtout the zone's storyline.
There's an alliance camp just chilling outside of the entrance to Mulgore..forcing the tauren captial to barricade itself in.
There's two alliance bases in Durotar, one right next to the Deakspear capital AND the Orc training grounds.
this is funny because all I've been able to see is how the Alliance apparently are a bunch of wet-eared nincompoops that fall over dead whenever horde wander anywhere nearby
Hillsbrad owned, Ashenvale owned, Darkshore in the process of being owned, new Horde bases in pretty much every zone where there were just Alliance before
the only "Alliance" that actually have put up a fight and gained ground are the Kul Tiras crazies from Northwatch who were sinking merchant marine ships for no real reason in vanilla
great role models
the whole thing leaves me feeling that I picked the "wrong" faction and just kind of tired of the whole AvH thing that I never liked in the first place, because now I happen to be on the side that's basically a bunch of useless morons.
at least Horde are led by a mostly militarily effective moron.
let's not forget that the Alliance lost probably their most respectable leader because he got turned into a lawn ornament, along with failing to retake a capital city for how many goddamned years? and losing another capital city instead.
Blizzard, as a company, is very big on making humanity as flawed and douchey as possible. They do it in Starcraft too. Sure, Jim Raynor is a bastion of awesomeness, but everything else about the Terrans is a bleak picture with more backstabbing and general assholery than the other races. Sarah Kerrigan is a way more sympathetic character as the Queen of Blades than Mengsk ever was.
The same is true in Warcraft. Arthas is an ass. King Varian is an ass. Pretty much every other human character is an ass with the exception of Jaina.
Its just what they do. In Blizzard games, humans are asses.
that doesn't make it any more fun to be on the side that clearly the designers don't care much for
it's especially hilarious to me that Stormwind, just now, has barely started to set up the scaffolding to even begin to repair the superficial damage Deathwing did to the Valley of Heroes
meanwhile, the Dragonmaw Clan sets up an entirely new base -- virtually a new city -- in an effective matter of minutes
King Chin makes a giant statue of himself in his own courtyard while the people in Westfall starve, homeless
we're missing a district? I don't know what you're talking about. Damn, that is a nice statue of me
has anyone ever felt Alliance pride? Anybody? Just curious. Like, anyone, ever. Well, there was that Bolvar guy, he was pretty badass. Oh wait, he's gone. Replaced with a one-dimensional running gag.

Night Elves are irrational douchebags too. I just think Blizzard hates the Alliance in general. Really dwarves are the best things they have going for them because Wildhammers are just downright fucking insane.
Also I'm alliance because my guild is basically. Personally I think the races and npcs suck but different strokes I guess
It's pretty goddamn obvious that [strike]Blizzard[/strike] METZEN prefers Horde. It seems like every Alliance victory is basically "Oh I suppose they have to win something. You know, just to be fair"
Also there's kind of a reason as to why it's taken so long to start fixing the Valley of Heroes. Remember the Defias? Yeah, that was basically every stonemason in all of humanity right there. Don't where he managed to find one to make his nice statue though.

Its like that Horde side. Garrosh has shown some interesting points (stonetalon, Twilight) but he is still a douche. Sylvannas is doing her own thing. The trolls are doing thier own thing. Blood Elves havent changed. The taurens are the only saving grace. After loosing thier faction leader they basically state "Hey its our job to try to show them the way no matter how bad it is"
