I just saw Wreck It Ralph. I....am contemplating cosplaying for the first time and as Wreck It Ralph. Now, let's see if I go through with this or I am just hyped from that movie. Haha.
I, too, just saw Wreck It Ralph and am considering cosplaying for the first time as Vanellope. Can't decide if I'm actually going to, BUT a photo op needs to happen if we both hop on the wagon.
Awesome! Yea, I'll let you know if I go through with it. Hopefully I do.

I'll wanna track you guys down! so fun!
Well, now I guess I have to so I don't disappoint people. Haha.
Now...to figure out how to cosplay.
edit: Anyone have suggestions to look...puffy(?)....like Ralph? I was looking at a muscle shirt costume, but I don't know how that would look under the clothes. Might just have to buy and experiment with the look.
Since Ralph is barefoot, I think I would just wear sandals and remove them for pictures. Maybe the overalls I get will have huge back pockets and I can toss them into before pictures.
And then there is the hair.
edit 2: I am on a browsing spree right now. Potential costume stuff. Thoughts are welcome and appreciated.
Ralph:
Stuff I found with quick google searches:
I'd love to make some sort of overhead word bubble that says "I'm gonna wreck it!" Maybe something to attack to my head or back that sticks up. Maybe I could stick it to the hands when I hold them up in his pose. Hmm.
My Riddler went over great last year so I have o cosplay again. Gonna do Joshua Graham (The Burned Man from Fallout: NV) on Friday and Fix-It Felix on Saturday. Anybody know a good place to get custom patches for my Felix costume? Every place I've seen has been kind of sketchy.
i may not be able to finish my cosplay. i got all the easy things but now with work being really slow (4 days a week now) and hurricane sandy then putting me out of work for a while, i dont think i'll have the money to get the rest. im debating just wearing the stuff i have.

Aside from my skyrim costume, I'm also doing Tiny Tina from Borderlands. I'm about her size and I look 13, so it works haha. Have a good amount done already.
My group is planning on doing superheroes, though gender-reversed. And not "I'm a guy dressed up as Wonder Woman" but rather "what would Wonder Man look like". So far we have Dazzler, Green Arrow, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy.

im currently at work, however i can easly find the correct costumes desgins for that from the comics
I'm currently in the "Pick a DAMN Costume" mode right now and need help picking one. I want to do a group of Aperture Employes, not test subjects, like a scientist or and engineer, Joseph Frost (RE1), a grown up version of Commander Keen, or something with a group, anyone got any ideas

I went to Prime as Poison Ivy from Arkham Asylum/City. I want to redo my bottoms to look more like Ivy's. I'm struggling with finding something that will provide coverage, but resemble her shorts. I used a pair of black spandex boy-shorts before, but they didn't look like Ivy's bottoms from the game. I'm thinking of using dance briefs this time around, but I'm open to suggestions. Any ideas?
I have my 10th Doctor props, glasses, and suit. I needed a suit anyway, so I actually decided to get one that looked like the Doctor's. All I need now are the shoes - which need to go on sale, because they're just Converse and shouldn't cost $50 - and the jacket. Any ideas where I could find a cheap 10th Doctor jacket (or a good pattern to make one)? I know there's an official replica, but $300 is way way way out of my price range.
friday and saturday will be bad maw, sunday will probably revisit one of my old outfits, either dovakiin or boomer. have to determine if remaking boomer is plausable in it's current state or to repair the dovakiin armor. might just relax that day, donno either way. bad maw is definate for friday and saturday though
I'm debating lollipop chainsaw this year, but I am a redhead and totally anti wearing a wig all day. it's mine and my boyfriends first year at PAX so I have really no idea what I am getting into with this whole cosplay stuff lol
I know that I'll be Nightwing one day and will have a Red Hood and Officer Grayson with me. Will likely be bringing my Marian Hawke in Rogue Champion armor as well.

Little sneak peak and my redeemed riven sword =P I did more work to it on the detailing. The chest piece is the hardest part lol....
Last year me and two of my friends went as Team Rocket members.
This year I convinced my boyfriend to come to PAX, as well as got him to say okay to cosplaying with me... Super excited. Waluigi is my favorite Mario character, so I'm going as a female Waluigi, and he's gonna be Wario

Alright so my Talia Al Ghul costume is pretty much done! Yay for being more prepared this year! On to finishing Terra. I'm most likely gonna bring a third but I can decide who. I have a few in my closet including: Daenerys, the Lady Sif and a femme!Cole Macgrath. Any opinions on which one to bring?
Back in June I custom ordered a Connor Kenway (Assassin's Creed III) costume on ebay for $350. Got it in a month later and the guy made it too small for me. Couldn't return it unfortunately. Brought it to a tailors and spent another $220 to get it to fix me. I bought dual pistols and the actualy tomahwak ($50).
Now, I don't want it anymore. It's a shame. I try to make myself want to wear it. I do some sort of cosplay every time I go, but this one I just can't get into anymore. Maybe it's because the game was a letdown on my behalf. I dunno. I just wasted like $600+ on it and I don't even want it anymore. I can't really sell it because it's a specialty item. It's a shame.
I'm on a cross country trip right now across the USA. Got my 3 day pass beforehand. I shaved my head before the trip. I hated it, but my friends told me I resembled Max Payne from MP3. My hair has grown back since, but when March comes around I'll shave it again. Already got the Hawaiian shirt and khaki pants.
I also decided on a Bane cosplay as well. Shave the head and beard, get the tac vest and mask and I'm golden. Just gotta slap on a "Sean Connery talking into a Pringles can" impression and I've nailed it.
For those who don't know: I went to PAX as the Dovahkiin last year and the year before that I was Naked Snake. Love the cosplay community and all the people last year who took my picture, gave excellent comments, and included me in events. What a blast!
I think I'm going to go as a female version of Marty McFly for one of the days, then a pokeball for the other day. I'm not sure if the pokeball would be a lame idea though. Thoughts?
+1

Still missing a few things, but the overall clothing is pretty much done.
I didn't play Bioshock until I was discussing Atlas Shrugged with a friend, and she recommended I give it a shot. Instant hit. The only downside is that while playing the game itself you don't see poor Jack.
Luckily, this year the fellows at Irrational Games/2K Games gave me a treat. We know what Booker looks like, and his wardrobe definately falls within what materials I have available. I'll definately be cosplaying as my new favorite Pinkerton agent: Booker DeWitt.
*Edit* Okay, Booker has two totally different looks now. I'm combining the two and hoping for the best.

Going to be my first year of PAX and I'm a cosplay n00b, so I can't do anything too complicated.
Right now I'm thinking of:
1) The Arkham City version of the Mad Hatter
2) Something Bioshock related, either Andrew Ryan or a member of the Vox Populi from Infinite.
3) Or a DC character to be decided, most likely someone like the Joker or Green Arrow that seems to be a bit easier to make a costume for, that matches the Injustice: Gods Among Us character design.

I like the Mad Hatter idea. I'm also not too experienced with actually putting together costumes yet, but I have found that doing crawls of thrift shops and places like Salvation Army or Savers helps a TON. You can find a lot of different clothing items, you'll surely find something that catches your eye.

The Vox Populi member idea sounds pretty cool. With the games release being next year it'd go well too.
P.S. Update on my Bane costume:
Decided not to spend $200 on a nice mask on eBay and chose to make my own. So far it's only costing me around $35. Need to decide on whether or not to buy the vest (also $200) or to try and make that as well.
The Max Payne (MP3) outfit is all done too, just need to go down to my local army/navy store to buy the shoulder holsters which they always have.
Meanwhile I'm messaging fellow cosplayers trying to help out too, so don't feel creeped out if I send you a random message about your costume idea. I'm good at this (I like to think) and can offer great suggestion! Carry on!
For Christmas, I got, among other things, red Converse high-tops and an 11th Doctor sonic screwdriver. That leaves just 10's coat and I will be going as the 10th and 11th Doctors. I just need to remember not to get a haircut until PAX.
Now that the new year is approaching I am solidifying my cosplay line up
--Lady Deadpool (putting the finishing touches on this one! Really hoping the new Deadpool game will be on the expo floor!)
--Fallout 3 Wasteland Wanderer (altering my costume from last year)
--mystery 3rd cosplay??? (Could recycle my Ramona Flowers/ AC Harley Quinn OR if I have the funds: Bioshock Little Sister)
So excited, hope I am able to get all this together In time!!

I agree that this one would probably be the simplest and the least expensive to pull off. Second hand stores are great resources; it's where my group at Prime last year got most of their items for Batman's Rogues Gallery. Also try eBay, you'd be surprised the odd and perfect stuff you can find there for pretty cheap.
How experienced are you with sewing, and how comfortable are you altering existing clothing? Because if you find a jacket of the appropriate base color, you can either applique on the patches of the contrasting color, or fake it with fabric paint, provided you even want to go that detailed.
For the hat, I'd recommend this and paint it green with fabric or spray paint for the appropriate color. I used it for my White Rabbit costume, and my friend borrowed it for his Penguin costume.
