I am currently playing Devil survivor and there's good things and bad things about it:
Good:
Interesting system with death clocks giving the characters more of a urgent need for the characters
Overall combat is good with mixture of different skills in a tactical map and close encounters - like fft and dragon quest in one!
..saves fast?
Bad:
Bit easier stat system then other games
Horrible escort missions. Just horrible.
Old fashioned exploring with menus!
Very repetitive combat,
Loads of grinding, grind that demon baby
After playing a bit yesterday I got stuck on a escort mission (it was the one for the 4h character) After trying it four times. Ai can really be dense, and since there are loads of escort missions it isn't really fun. Good news though, I got past and now I have bad-ass king frost. He-ho!

Funny, my impression of the protagonist is that, yes, he's a dork. But he's an unusually unassuming badass alpha-male sort of dork. Ergo, why the girls keep hanging off of him and why all these adults choose to confide in him.
I'm not sure this is a thing that exists.
He's a socially awkward Mary Sue! Does everything well. Balances a rich and varied social life with good grades, part-time jobs and dealing with magic murder shit. Also: His soul is a metaphorical sea of demons.

Ugggggggh the culture festival in P4 is the worst thing. The worst thing. All of it is dreadful, and even worse is that it happens right after the tests so you haven't been able to take advantage of the S. Link boosts you just got from that. You're also probably starting Fortune at this point, which means all the points get wasted.

What's up with social links, there's a bunch you can no longer do right? It's 11/1 now and Chie just hit Rank 9. I thought I remembered that you can only really do school links in the last months? Or was it just teammates? I just need to know if I should be focusing on maxing out the clubs, Moon, Temperance, and Hanged right now. They're 8, 6, 6, 6, 4 if I remember right. They can all level up next session as well. I'm not going to mention nighttime links because I'm focusing on Tower every night I can as I've already maxed Devil and the only stat not 5 is diligence so any nights I don't tutor I just talk to someone or go to the shrine. Should I do those remaining school/daytime links, or should I focus on getting Chie, Yosuke, and Yukiko to rank 10 since they're the closest before I do the next dungeon because I can do the others well into next month? I remember the next boss is kind of a jerk and having teammates with no weaknesses helps.

This is for P4 vanilla (from the strategy guide). In P4 Golden you get like an additional month of time (January) to work on your social links beyond what vanilla offers.
You've got a pretty decent amount of opportunity to get any given S.Link that you're pretty far along on in the last two months, aside from the ones that end early. You miss out on some Strength, if I recall, due to a lot of bad weather, but everything else is relatively close to normal.

There is literally nothing he does in the game or anime that is above average in execution. I mean really, did you just not go to highschool? Did you never notice there are plenty of popular kids who do all this? 4.3 GPA, work, do band, go to various volunteer things, have significant others, etc, etc?
I think someone just had a cripplingly terrible highschool life and hates Yu because of it.
Isn't it actually the diarahan that signifies he did something wrong? Cause I thought she used megidolaon in her rotation. Or was it something else That just did alot of damage?

Yeah, Armageddon triggers her "berserk mode" where she casts Diarahan->Megidolaon every round. Megidolaon is a normal part of the rotation though, and you have to use Infinity to survive it.
I wish atlus would pick one handheld and go for that.
But once soul hackers and EO4 are out I can justify importing an american 3ds and those games I guess.

That was just a test run at her, and the strategy I read entailed hitting her with Armageddon, surviving with Idol, then hitting her again. Didn't expect her standard attack to be so brutal though.
shin megami tensei: persona 4 was released for the ps2 – maybe the most bombass of all playstations (other than hte ps3) – way back in 2008, and it has held up spectacularly. its still da bomb! but the makers decided to release an expanded version for the Vita – and gotdamn, was it worth the effin wait. the game is vast, beautiful, and perhaps most excitedly, incredibly engaging. the story sucks you in and does NOT let you go (much like Max Payne starring the guy from Boogie Nights with the huge dong). there are some slick HD graphics and the mechanics are vastly more user-friendly than its ps2 counterpart. but really, the greatest thing about this game is the small details – like sound and voice acting – are just as stellar as the bigger parts of the game. overall, a fantastic package that will keep you busy for weeks on end, and a must buy.

This leads to the hidden feelings he has that emerge in the Bathhouse dungeon. He is relieved when he learns that Naoto is a girl and you make him feel more comfortable with his "feminine" hobbies (sewing/crafting) over the course of his S.Link.

That's pretty much exactly it. The whole point of a character's dungeon is
to make them accept the parts of their personality they're uncomfortable with.
Kanji's development is handled really well, which made the few reviews by people who just didn't understand what the TV world is actually doing difficult to read.
