Trackmania games are awesome for short bursts of playing. Stadium is still in open beta right now too. Just go to the Steam store page and download the demo. That's the open beta. Trackmania Nations is free and really awesome. It's the older stadium environment, it's completely free and fully featured.
Grumble grumble, stupid clients, shitty weather, annoying traffic, worthless back office, coffee machine's on the blink, cough that won't go away, people nagging me to do every little thing, and at the end of the day I can't even bother with the Steam thread because I'm waiting for the computer parts I ordered that won't get here until the weeke-
Edit: Looks like they're out of keys for damn near everything. Might be worth keeping an eye out for if they restock.
I went ahead and took a gamble and bought Dishonored from the UK site for $11-and-change. The sale went through okay, just got the "whoops, out of keys" message afterward. So it'll be interesting to see if they give me a key down the road or refund the sale.
Even though I've played it a fair number of times in the past, I just want to say...
Fuck the Ocean House Hotel. Fuck it right to death.
I think I wet my pants.
Hey, I just got to Shalebridge Cradle. Wanna switch?
I just got in. I've never played this thing before, but the atmosphere alone is killing me. Don't even want to think about what's waiting for me in there.
So is it still possible to add people as friends and such in NFS Hot Pursuit now that its Autolog is shut down?
I managed to log in to my old EA account, and it still has the few friends and best times I got from when I bought the game 3 years ago stored...wondering if I can spruce that up with some new, better friends and times to compete against.
Looks like a lot of games had their base price lowered recently, the vast majority seems to be from Square Enix/Eidos Interactive. Good news if you were waiting to get any of those since they will be even cheaper in the next sale. You can check the price tracker here: http://www.steamprices.com/us/track/100/list

awesome, now if they're just 50% off during summer sale I can get some of those eidos ones.
Well, Bioshock Infinite hard run done. Still didn't find all of the voxophones and infusions, which seems crazy because I feel like I turned that entire world inside out.
I have like five challenges to complete in Tomb Raider that only need one thing that I can't find, then I'll have mopped up all the single player stuff in that game too.
Really need to get back to Blood Dragon at some point.
So like.. Since people seem to be splooshing over Prime World and Fez and such, sounds like I should give one of them away!
So, MS PAINT TIME.
Send me your bootiful MS paint art of... Hmm....
'The coolest dolphin ever'
Being related to the game you want in some fashion will get Bonus Points. Do indicate whether you want Fez or Prime World because even if you think the picture is clear, I am often dense.
Edit: By send I mean PM of course. Just in case that wasn't clear. Usual rules apply. Etc, etc.
Last call and all that, going to end this tomorrow morning (so about 13ish hours from now)
Got some pretty great entries so far but always room for more.
If I may say...Burnout Paradise is a desert island Top 5 game for me. I owned it on 360, PS3 and now PS3 download so it is always on my system, ready to go. It got me through long weekends at the parents during Easters and such. The multiplayer is fun (although less refined than Most Wanted's). And the game is still a motherfucking blast. I never had the intense, sexual love that others seem to for Crash mode, so I didn't miss it that much. Instead, the Road Rage and Marked Man trials were my bread and butter.
For $5, it's a great fucking deal for a great fucking game. In fact, I might (foolishly) purchase it once again for myself.
Burnout Paradise is so good. I would seriously recommend playing it on a console (a PS3, if you have one) solely because of Big Surf Island and the cars that come with it, but if you only have a PC than it's still an awesome game.
People complained about the removal of crash mode, but in Burnout Paradise you can actually enter crash mode anywhere on the map and actually steer your tumbling wreck of a car around after you crash, and stringing together an awesome crash run that has your car doing multi-million dollar damages and leaving a trail of destroyed cars, vans, buses, street signs, lightposts, and stoplights across half the city is rad as hell.

Canyon and Stadium are also gorgeous and super well optimized. You definitely need a controller if you want to seriously challenge the gold/silver/bronze times for a lot of tracks though.

The pro Trackmania players are mostly keyboard players, but some of them use a controller too. I use a controller because I like kicking back in my chair when I play.
I'm a sick, sick man. I have Anomaly 2 to review, Prime World Defenders to continue grinding for cards in, and I just bought Super Sanctum TD. Steam, why do you always know what to recommend to take my money!?

Ditto. I'm only ever in it to make a top 8 appearance and it feels so right with a controller.

I must admit to being moderately tempted myself. I nearly picked up Dishonored, even though I know my machine can't handle it, purely to stick it into storage for when I finally upgrade some time around the new year.

I think there might be something wrong with me...
There's nothing wrong with grabbing a game when it's super cheap even if you can't run it, I do it all the time.
When you upgrade you'll not only get the fun of having all of your old game run better and look prettier, but you'll have all new games waiting for you.
Considering it's on sale Burnout Paradise is an awesome game to play/fuck about in with friends. As a recomendation.
I'm seeing it for about 9 bucks on Amazon for PC, but anybody have any idea if the key will count for the Steam version or the shitty Origin version? Burnout Paradise is effectively the only reason at all that I want access to my Origin account for (which EA has kept me locked out of for a couple of weeks now thanks to their shitty everything); I'd gladly rebuy it for Steam for 9 bucks if it means not having to deal with Origin to play it. Burnout Paradise is just a blast to play and the whole Origin thing was dead weight every time I wanted to play (even when I could actually log on to my account).
Really surprised more people aren't talking about the Hitman deal. I know it wasn't as well received as the other games, but it's a recent AAA title for less than a sandwich.
I imagine the lack of excitement about Hitman is that it's been like 7-10 bucks on one site or another for the past two weeks. I imagine most people on the fence bought in that range.
White Wolf and CCP (the EVE guys) merged a few years ago, so I imagine CCP is in charge of any games related to Vampire, since they're working on the World of Darkness MMO.
So, trying again...Does anybody know if it's still possible to add new friends in NFS Hot Pursuit? I know its Autolog is theoretically shut down, but it still remembers friends and times from when I first bought the game 3 years ago, so...
I just started playing NFS Hot Pursuit and all the friends stuff has being fine.
OK, sweet. Anybody else playing, add me however or whatever...EA handle is TheGaslighter.
Since Autolog for the older NFS titles (by which I mean, anything before Most Wanted - fuck you, EA) is down I was worried I was like stuck with the 3-4 friends I had three years ago and their speedwall times forever.

It would probably be inappropriate to relink the sploosh graphic in this instance..
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

I bought a Monaco 4-pack. Handed out the spares, got some cash.
Someone else bought an Awesomenauts 3-pack. I gave the same money back.
We'll see how many laps around the room we can send the same money over the weekend.
