Another option is to give Common items small, solid effects without drawbacks, and Rare items larger or niche positive effects but with drawbacks. This makes the most common items flexible but dependable. The generalist approach suits Common items since they'll be more generally available. Rare items become specialist; they'll work in certain builds but players will need to plan around them. Heck, it might even cause folks with those items to try and make deals with others to build up synergies.

The vote just needs to stand out from the rest of the post, so we could just have everyone put their vote at the top of their post in all caps with something like "I AM VOTING FOR 38THDOE"
I think it would work? You can quote the post and see the intended vote text, and unlike a self-hosted image it can't be swapped out. Edits would still show up as edits.
Let me know if people need special commands other than the vote.

Yeah, I could open up an arbitrary text/color one for that stuff. It wouldn't be as "clean" of a URL but that is only important for votes imo.
Should I post signups? Can people use it to sign up in color?
