Does anyone have the history of when pax dev went on sale? I feel like they might be related with each other since you can buy 4 days with a dev. Even if it doesn't, it would be nice to compare and whatnot.

    Edit:
After doing some research, Pax Dev is usually announced after Prime reg. so this must be the first year they are doing the bundle special.

its nice, i wasn't even expecting to get tickets to anything, felt lucky when i saw dev was open and not sold out, and basically exploded into the state i'v been in since when i got prime as well........i'v caught up on over ten years of PA stuff in 4 days.....bout 5 1/2 years to go.

Hi! I'm new to the PAX Community, and I was just wondering if the ticket sales have gone on yet? This will be my first PAX and I'm really excited! I just hope I haven't missed the ticket sales yet. And if the question has already been answered, I apologize.
    Thanks :)

No, passes are not on sale yet. You can find the topic on registration here: http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/189272/prime-2014-registration-anticipation#latest

Is it PAX <insert nearest future PAX here> yet?

Nope, not yet. We don't know when they are going to go on sale either. I will warn you though, they sell out QUICK.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to purchase tickets or be in the purchase line while on mobile iPhone to be exact? Sadly I'm working most of this week away from a computer.

As long as you have an internet connection any device should work.

  • cardkid123cardkid123 Registered User regular
Not going to lie. Just a small tip. I had a hard time with crashing when using a PC to purchase the tickets for east. When using an iphone it went through perfectly. Best to use both if possible.

I want to make sure I have enough money set aside on my credit card for two 4-day passes (assuming I get in early enough). Are there any taxes/fees associated with Showclix? I heard 4-day badges would be $105 each, so I have $240 set aside just in case.

There is however shipping/receiving fee if you opt out on picking it up at PAX. $15 is what I payed the past 2 years... But I do live in BC so it might be cheaper for Mericans.

People in the USA do not have the will call option at all. USA folks can either pay $0 for standard USPS post, or pay some $ > 0 for a different shipping option.

  • Aardvark VulgarAardvark Vulgar Registered User regular
Last year I had to pay $2.5 for handling. I had no other option to opt out of the small charge.

Note that UPS is just UPS ground, so for people in the US it isn't really any faster than USPS, it just gives you better tracking and lets you redirect it after shipping if need-be (for a fee)

Can you buy Pax Dev passes just to get the 4 day Pax Prime badge or is that frowned upon if going to Pax Dev isn't a huge priority??

I am sure you can, but that is an extra $279 per 4-day pass :s. I do not know if PAX Dev sold out previously?? If it did then yes you are taking a spot from someone. You could get a better rate from any scalper I'd presume (EDIT: although I don't condone that)

No I know, its my friend is doing networking setup schooling and might see if he could get work in the gaming industry and I saw that you can grab Pax 2014 badges (I am working in a diff industry) and he wants to go so I wondered if I could still grab a ticket just so I can get my pax 14 at the same time.

I want to cover my bacon and make sure I am not doing something that would prevent me from getting a legit pax badge etc

If you get a pax dev pass and you are not a developer who wants to attend pax dev, that's a shitty thing to do. Also I think you have to prove dev credentials somehow, but I'm not sure how that process works.

No, I live in Seattle, so I'm not sure why it happened. At first I thought everyone had the small fee, but later found out that some had it and some didn't.

I actually just purchase a PAX Dev pass and went ahead and got my Prime while I was at it. I'm a student so I went with that option since I'm trying to break into the industry. I QA when I'm not in class but will student status be enough?

well considering they have a student price set aside i assume student status is enough, i got my dev pass for the same reason, i honestly think i will learn more at the conference than i have in the last year of college.

Yeah, if you are a student and are entering the games industry, that's also fine. That's part of the audience that PAX Dev is trying to reach.

If you live outside of the US, you can opt to pick your tickets up at will call for free.

Otherwise you pay $16 for FedEx shipping.
