You know what, maybe replace Ajani's Presence with Dauntless Onslaught until rotation? Boros Charm will do all the sweeper protection you need right now, and I think Dauntless Onslaught is too good a heroic enabler to ignore.

I think the new sliver as the commander pushed them over the top

    The indestructability is pretty real

I think that my play group tends to run a lot of exile, shuffle, sacrifice, and bounce effects, so while I agree that slivers is a great aggro strategy, I think that control is generally stronger in EDH and Child of Alara/Progenitus just have sweepers for days in addition to massive card draw to get to those sweepers.

Slivers can blindside the whole table, but it can also crumble to Humility-type effects, or be forced to over commit and face Hallowed Burial or Final Judgement.

I would place a good sliver deck in the T1.5 range. Capable of winning any game and a definite threat.

That sounds like a who's who of my friend's commanders.

I finally had to break down and build an Omnath deck just to compete, and I gotta tell ya, Omnath into Hornet Queen into Overwhelming Stampede was glorious. When I finally put Helix Pinnacle in the deck, I realized I had probably taken things too far and dismantled it.

    And don't forget Sliver Overlord.

There are very few things more satisfying than resolving a Mana Short against an Omnath deck

So I've been messing around with making little perler bead sprite things after seeing a few at local conventions, and thought about trying something Magic related.

So far, I have a goblin token and a plant token. Might do a sliver and a few others too.

They are just about the same size as a regular MtG card.

So I do Modern at my LGS on Wednesdays whenever I don't have work, and since I can't do it consistently, I bought the event deck. Some weeks, it feels like Zealous Persecution is a dead card, but this week, it was a one-sided Wrath of God. I've been really impressed with the deck, which is saying something, since I was one of its biggest detractors (as a concept) when it was announced. Live and learn.

Look, Zealous Persecution is fantastic. I play it as a 4 of because I hate affinity. ZP shits on affinity, it also is a huge play against Merfolk. Those are both annoying decks. It also is a counter spell to Splinter Twin because if they make a million pestermites they all die and if it's deceiver exarch they do no damage. I love it, it is the best card.

    Edit: Also kills dark confidant.

So... I'm done with New Player drafts and about to move into the real thing.

Where do you guys sell your cards? I have a few Souls (Zendikar, Innistrad, Ravnica) to unload and a bunch of junker Rares. Where should I go ?

For Uncommons (and Commons, I suppose) do you guys sell them to bots? Do they take them? Or should I save those to trade to BulkBots?

    report from WNM:

The definition of "happiness" is having a control opponent stall on lands, play and -2 Jace, and getting to split it into piles of Detention Sphere, Sphinx's Revelation // Plains.

Oh yes. He took the Plains.

If you do the $30 package, you are guaranteed 3 packs and the MTG comic, plus 6-9 other items.

Worst case you get shit you will never use, 3 packs, a comic book that might be decent, not sure and probably some sleeves for draft decks.
