I need to get me one of those glow in the dark Cthulu's. But first I need to decide if I'm going to put that fake bronze one in a little desktop aquarium I have. Dunno if that Betta can handle it lol.
Vow, sometimes you have good, agreeable opinions and I think, given how often we all freak out about your baffling ones, it's only fair to call out ones I can get behind like this.

Thoughts? Ideas?
If Hamburger Helper was changed to Tacos and The Last Samurai was changed to basically anything else and I am all in on Hufflepuff.
I would actually put in some sort of party game or coop game for their bg too.

There is not a single House that you posted Zonugal that I agree with (like, as a person)
Like, of what's given, for me:
Dramatic Film: No idea, haven't seen any of these
Action/Comedic Film: Mortal Kombat, I guess, but that's only because I haven't seen the rest (Gryffindor)
Animated Film: The Emperor's New Groove (Slytherin)
Film Franchise: Iron Man, if only for IM3 (Slytherin)
Television Series: Parks & Recreation (Hufflepuff)
Video Game: Civilization, I assume, although I haven't actually played it, I just know I don't like the others (Slytherin)
Board Game: Dungeons & Dragons (Gryffindor)
Meal: Chicken Stir-Fry (Ravenclaw)
Beverage: Mimosa (Ravenclaw)
Not that that's bad or anything, it just amused me how hard I reacted against each house even when I thought I'd found things I liked

I forgot how good Paranorman is. What a great friggin movie.
Edit: also, Laika has a new movie coming out this year called Kubo and the Two Strings, and it looks absolutely incredible.

Yo Zombie Hero, I could certainly see tacos but I like hamburger helper as it falls deeper into the blue-collar worker identity that I am throwing on Hufflepuff.
The Lord of the Rings board game is a purely cooperative game, but if you can think of any other board games that are a better showing of cooperation I'm all ears.
But yeah, Guardians of the Galaxy is a solid idea.

@Straightzi, the idea was for bored people to find out what house they are in (or if they already know) and look at this sampling of maybe appropriate media/activities for them to do on a Friday night.

Well, the house I'm in changes regularly anyways, so I suppose that does make sense.

Have you ever seen a trailer that you felt spoiled the entire movie, only for it to turn out that it hadn't?
I'm having trouble thinking of one, as all the trailers that I felt spoiled the movie either turned out to be accurate or I never actually ended up seeing the film in question so couldn't confirm.
Like I almost was going to try the Hercules movie from a year or two ago that starred the Rock, as I understand most of the trailer scenes from that are actually just in the first five minutes of the movie, but I don't really remember those trailers specifically feeling like they gave away the entire plot of the movie (though if it had then that would certainly be what we're looking for).
Not looking for trailers where they didn't tell you what the movie was about (ie. the original Matrix trailer, if I remember right) or movies where they mislead the audience and advertise the wrong tone (ie. Bicentennial Man as a pure comedy because it stars Robin Williams). Basically we're looking for examples where you saw a trailer that you felt gave away the entire movie, but it turned out you were wrong.
A friend is claiming that whenever a trailer feels like it is giving away the movie, it always is, and I feel like that can't be true but can't come up with a really good counterexample. Especially this late.
I also feel like there is an obvious one I'm missing, but it's not coming to mind.
There was that movie that ended with Surprise 9-11 , does that count?

iron man 3 is a great example. I think looper kinda fits if only becuase it gets through the main parts from the trailers after like 30 minutes in?

Looper I'd almost call more of a tonal thing than anything else, but it's not a bad example.

My husband has never seen Aladdin.
We are currently watching Aladdin, because I can't be married to a guy who hasn't seen Aladdin.

Did you guys know that Aladdin isn't actually one of the original stories from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights?
It was added by a translator in the eighteenth century
There are only like, two hundred and thirty stories in the original, and throughout history, European translators would use this as an opportunity to add in any other vaguely Middle Eastern story they could find
Sinbad and Ali Baba are also late additions to the book
I can afford to get two of the following Studio Ghibli movies with a Disney Movie Club offer I have right now, which should I get:
Castle in the Sky
The Cat Returns
My Neighbor Totoro
Pom Poko
Ponyo
Porco Rosso
Spirited Away
Tales from Earthsea
Whisper of the Heart
The Wind Rises
The only one I've seen of these is Spirited Away, and I wasn't fond of it, but that was also like well over a decade ago and I've taken a liking to Miyazaki films in the meantime

They have one. Those two came together in a set so I bought them.

Children's television is terrible holy butts.
Luckily, I convinced them that a movie marathon would be better than dumb ol tv with commercials and such.
So now I'm watching Paranorman and Wreck It Ralph is up next.
