I'm not usually a PvP person, but dueling is so fun in this game. The brilliance is that it takes only a couple minutes to set up and finish one, and the system and community minimize trolling. The gesture system is brilliant for eliminating the kind of toxicity you run into when things require voice or chat.
I find that I do a lot of weapon testing in that arena past the Pontiff. Even though I don't win much, it's fun just to get into a quick fight, see how other people use weapons and test out strategies.
i really enjoy impromptu 3v3 invasions. usually the best is when it's three faithful vs a host and two friendly phantoms but i have also seen 2 faithful plus red sunbro vs host, white, and friendly red. it's really great.
With some tweaking this could be the best dark souls for pvp. but i still can't get a dark moon off to save my life.
So
Does that fallen knight set work for Kylo Ren Cosplay?
maybe.
though i really hate the pants on that set, which is good when you then read the description of them.

Resuming my dark souls 1 adventure, last time I stopped after getting knocked off by the final swinging axes in sen's fortress
Since then the progress I've made is that at least I can make it back up to those final swinging axes in maybe 10 minutes, the longest part of the trip up is cheesing out the two snake wizards who guard two of the bridges
Can't seem to get the timing right for that final dash though, I tried stripping down to my beef jerky and everything
Last night I invaded the area after Pontiff and was plopped into the realm of some chap named Sephiroth.
An Aldrich Faithful and I eventually found him down in the large water area. He was accompanied by another bloke named Cloud. Both were two-handing katanas.
Cue epic 2v2 battle. I defeated Cloud, then charged Sephiroth together with the Faithful, but Sephy just ran around, rolling and backstepping and refusing to engage. Then he resummoned Cloud, and it was 2v2 again.
I sighed and went back to work on Cloud, but this time to no avail. Sephiroth defeated the Aldrich guy, and two on one was a bit too much for me.

That's what I got someone to help me transfer an item for, so I could get Anri's Straight Sword right away instead of way late in the game/murdering Anri, without doing that I would have had to wait until Irithyll Dungeon to get a weapon that scaled with Luck and heck that
If you can get Anri's sword early (either through trading or murder most foul) it is the best levelling weapon I have found. Upgrades with Twinkling Titanite, can be buffed but not infused, but that's okay because it has a combination Hollow/Blessed infusion built in. It scales off Luck like a Hollow weapon, and gives health regen, bonus damage to undead, and prevents skeletons from respawning like a Faith weapon.
what that post forgets to mention is that Hollow infusion also works really well with Bleed weapons because luck boosts bleed/poison, so a weapon with bleed on it + hollow infusion + carthus rouge just gets downright silly
Most builds I've seen use the Warden Twinblades for this, but I've seen Str/Luck with the Spiked Mace the evangelists use, and I'm trying Dex/Luck with a Great Scythe right now
No real need to respec. Unless you're running a magic build, you're going to put your early stat gains into VGR/END and rely on Raw and Fire infusions (or just the Dark Battle Axe from the first real area) until somewhere around the Pontiff at least. At that point the Profane Coal is a single mad dash away, and you already have at least one Hollow Gem from pickups, so you can start investing into your offensive stats immediately.
Personally I like going for Luck early anyway (if I'm going to Hollow my gear) because of the additional Item Discovery, which means more drops early of stuff like titanite and souls, or Lothric Knight gear if you want to come out the gate as a badass.
And yeah the Warden Twinblades work very well with Carthas Rouge, though the Brigand Twindaggers and Bandit's Knife are perfectly viable alternatives. I even rocked the Notched Whip for quite awhile; short-range enemies that stagger from it will be helpless. I took out the thorn knight NPC without getting hit thanks to that thing.

Anri's is incredible because it has Hollow and Blessed infusions built in. They're somewhat inferior versions, though; the Faith scaling isn't great, and the Hollow infusion only grants the Luck scaling (it doesn't give bonus Luck). That means you need 35 Luck on your character (assuming you off-hand a Hollow +10 shield or backup weapon for another +5 Luck).
It's difficult to say whether the weapon can outdamage a bleed-focused weapon (I haven't run any tests). You can buff Anri's with the rouge, but it doesn't have the base bleed, and it attacks a little slower than twin weapons or the bandit's knife. Probably comes down to the physical and bleed defenses of the target. I'd guess you're better off with an elemental buff.
If you want to run a bleed luck build then I probably wouldn't bother with it much (saves you 5 SL to put into other things), and obviously it's no good for the weird niche magic luck build. Any other luck build will love it, though.

For me Anri's is as much about quality of life as pure effectiveness, it absolutely trivializes the Catacombs instead of needing to switch to a lower-damage blessed weapon to get through
I made a + 4 blessed Claymore for the Catacombs. That, and the fact tht's not actually that long an area once you notice the shortcut at the start took the sting out.
trading hits with the anri straigth sword is not advisable, no. it can hit great sword damage with straight sword speed. it's kind of gross, honestly. still gets beat by longer weapons and good spacing though, so i don't feel too bad about using it.
So how does trading between your characters, using a friend and a password work? Can you trade anything?
you can't pick up items upgraded higher than what you current have. so if your highest item is a +6 you can't get +7 and so on. outside of that, just about any item you can leave can be traded outside of upgrade materials and covenant things.
yeah, to get the plus four you've need access to +8 weapons and the life.

One handy trick is if you have a mid-late game weapon or infusion that you haven't upgraded, you can have a new character basically start with it. (I kind of want to do this with a lightning weapon for a Faith build, or a chaos weapon for a new pyro character)
I can't recall how upgraded my sword is
I didn't use it too much becuase my pyro doesn't have the EnD to use it properly

Bonus suggestion, you can get a normal weapon to +4 fairly quickly, with large titanite from trading a bomb to the crows and shooting the dragon in the foot until it flies away, and should get to 12 small titanite shards by the time you reach the bridge bonfire in the undead settlement. That way you could upgrade a twinkling/scale item to +2 before trading, saving the rarer resources on your new character.

But I enjoy purple pal hijinks
Although I wish summoning a purple was just choosing to be invaded
Like the purple pal isn't spawned at their summon sign
They're placed out there somewhere
And it's a total wildcard
Don't want to criticize other cultures traditions
But Londor weddings are a heck of a thing

While I've read that all games pull from the same pool of players, I feel like I get a lot quicker summons when I am Sunbroing bosses in NG+.

It's mud, not shit
It's embarrassing because whoever ran away from battle and fled through a swamp

If I can ever find time to play
Then I'm starting a new character
I'm thinking about luck and STR

at 20 str/dex, 17 fai, and 40 luck and +5 it has an AR of 420. that is higher than my +9 hollow flamberge by about 50.
Not possible to trade any hits with that thing

Ok
I kinda want to make my second character quality with the Farron great sword
Do those types of weapons upgrades count double, since they only go to +5?
I didn't use it too much becuase my pyro doesn't have the EnD to use it properly
Indubitably
