Final Fantasy 14’s 2010 launch was a catastrophe that the series barely survived. It was only through sheer perseverance and determination that it did, the developers at Square Enix grinding away in their own real-world MMO.
Naoki Yoshida was given a chance to take the wheel and right the ship. In the end, he and team did so spectacularly and have forged perhaps gaming’s greatest comeback story. In September of 2013, the realm of Eorzea was reborn.
Six years have passed since Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn released and its players first ventured into the land of Eorzea as The Warrior of Light.
In that time, they’ve brought peace to the Holy See of Ishgard after a thousand years of the Dragonsong War, toppled the Garlean Empire’s occupation of the city-state of Ala Mhigo, and thwarted the Ascian cult’s efforts to summon the evil god Zodiark. Every deed of heroism done for the light, for the spectrum we all see as righteous.
Then Shadowbringers blew out the candles and left players in the dark.

I should preface this by saying that over the past two years, under the guidance of medical professionals, I have been trying different dosages of different medications for my various afflictions, attempting to find a balance of efficacy and minimal side-effects. And the current mix has been giving me very deep sleep (bonus) plus very vivid dreams (not always a bonus).
Last night I dreamed that FFXIV did another crossover event, like the Rathalos trial or the FF15 promotion, but this one was with one of those shitty Chat n' Fuck type game companies.
So in FFXIV, they added Sex as a new branch of crafting. The Gathering Job was Seduction, and then there were several Fucksmithing disciplines whose discrete names and attributes I was never able examine. What you'd do is take the people you'd prepared with your Seduction skills and... uh... harvest their arousal power to imbue these tokens and potions with tantric sex energy. And then during regular gameplay you could consume those like potions or meals, or some of them could be put into materia slots so your weapon would become an explicit extension of your genitals. The symbolism is uncomfortable, to say the least.
Anyway, there was kind of an uproar among gamer bros because the various Fucksmithing jobs, like conventional crafting, required an accumulation of cross-class skills to achieve optimal results. Dudes all whining to SE on twitter about how they couldn't compete for the biggest pornstar money shots without first exploring branches of the system that they perceived as insufficiently heterosexual, even though all of these powers were completely agnostic to the gender and body configuration of the chosen partner, just some variants would substitute toys if the anatomy didn't match up.

Except it was a close-up of his face, while he was doing the old kung-fu man mustache stroke.
Meanwhile, for the other half of the cross-promotion, over on Newgrounds or something people were pegging a flash cartoon of Urianger? I didn't get to investigate that part in the dream, but figure that's how it must have worked.

Unless you have both speed upgrades (or flying) unlocked for a zone, the Fenrir bike mount will always be one speed rank higher than a normal mount, right?
Even across expansions? Because if so I think I'm going to have to take advantage of this sale and get it, that is way too useful.

Yes. The SDS Fenrir has inherent 2-star ground movement.
Finished up the Shadowbringers MSQ yesterday, bringing the tally of dungeons, raids, and trials I still need to clear down to 28 items, looks like. And then a bunch of miscellaneous quests, and some side content I've meant to investigate at least enough to declare for sure that it's not for me, like Eureka , Palace of the Dead, and PvPing enough to at least see every map once.
After that, it will be all about leveling side jobs. I've got GNB, DRG, and MCH at 80. Next in line is BLM (currently 60) so I can do the Caster DPS role quests, then WHM (currently... 4...) so I can do the Healer role quests. After that, not sure. I was going to level SAM after those two, but hanging out with my boy Ardbert makes me want to put some time in as a WAR and get that sweet armor.

I’ve pretty much scoured all of the poetics vendors in Mor Dhona and Idyllshire for everything with the exception of crafting materials. What’s going away?
The moogles are resurrecting another old tome, bringing back mythology tomes. Drop rates are better, with Praetorium dropping a whopping 10 tomes, and the Castrum dropping 7. Rewards include the brand new mameshiba earring, the Falcon mount, and other rare items.
Behemoth Helm and the Lanner whistles will also be nice.

Falcon Mount is the big get here, as it was the reward from the subscription time thing they were going to replace veteran rewards with. And then I guess scrapped?
Everything else besides the earrings is still available in game, I believe. Just kinda grindy. So I'd definitely prioritize the Falcon if you don't have it.
That being said, the orchestrion rolls are apparently Aquapolos drops, which is not particularly easy to access content so those are a good get too.

Same. I love riding it on the ground.
But the flying animation is the most disappointing thing. Pretty fair to call it the most disappointing flying animation on a mount in game.
