I finished Borderlands 3's main campaign the other day. It was a game I put down for a while after an initial gorge. It, uh, sure is more Borderlands.

IMO: The first was the best, mostly because of a series of accidents, and they've been chasing that peak and falling short ever since.
The concept of an RPG shooter was certainly more novel at the time so they didn't have much competition. But the rest of the industry keeps making improvements to how their RPG shooters play while the Borderlands team seems to spend their time looking for more memes to put into the next game.
Sega put out a trailer for Yakuza 7/Like a Dragon that's ostensibly about the benefits of playing it on a next gen console but is really an excuse to mention crustacean AI.

So I bumped into this thread to check out what was vibing with the PA folks on Steam. Now that my kids are coming of age, we've been doing a lot of games together. Minecraft has turned into Age of Empires, and the pant poopers have turned into serious gaming bros. Not to say that I didn't play games with someone in college who was so glued to the screen waiting for a Everquest spawn that he peed his pants, too...so nothing against that.
But holy cats, I did not realize how much porn was on Steam. My kids have a habit of watching over my shoulder while I look through Steam to find new games to play.
Now when I look through this thread, I have to tell my kids, "Oh, daddy's checking his work email, go do something else."

Is the UI fucking banging?
Got damn the UI is fucking banging. It looks and runs a lot like the UI from Endless Legend and i could probably write a whole post about how much i love the UI (minus some quirks which i hope will get fixed during early access). Its got the best multi-character dialogue i have ever seen.
Are the graphics fucking banging?
No. They are not. The game does not look bad, and i find it quite pretty, but don't expect it to blow you away in anything but art direction.

You also have to be careful with what you say. I got the kiddos the Dawn of War pack when it was on sale. I figured my 5 almost 6 year old would get a kick out of it because it's more watching stuff blow up and less micromanaging workers.
I did the Space Marines tutorial with him, and then set him up to play a skirmish against a very easy computer AI. He found the army painter and wanted to put horns on his Space Marines. I told him those were only for the Chaos Marines. So he insisted on playing Chaos because he liked the soldiers with the horns.
I, of course, jokingly called him a Heretic for liking Chaos. He's about six, so obviously the joke goes over his head, but I think it's funny.
Flash forward to school, where he's on Zoom with the teacher and she's asking him what he's doing since he can't play in person with his friends as much. He tells her, "I play adult games with my dad. I'm a heretic because I love chaos."
Fuck. Now I have some 'splaining to do to the wife.
I think that scenario is actually worse if the wife is also knowledgeable of 40k lore, because she could jump to the conclusion that the boy has been exposed to some messed up Slaaneshi shit.

Obligatory note to anyone contemplating them - do NOT get Micro Machines World Series, get Toybox Turbos instead. Doesn't have the license and is older, but is the better game by far.

I could have attacked him with the sword and killed him, or broken the window and stepped over the glass, incurring health damage which I would mitigate by drinking their blood.
Or I could have just waited for the zombie Apocalypse to take him out and sped things up by knocking on his door rise the zombies got near
Yes I did blow up an entire drugged and to take out one werewolf, but no 1 saw me do it and its better to use these items then to die with your inventory full of stuff
I love Cyberpunk and all, but man, a car with 4 front turning tires just seems like the most ridiculous and pointless mechanical design ever. I mean, I know it was tried once on an F1 racer (without success) but I can't even imagine it on a street car.
