ASK ME NOT, WHIPPY: THE THREAD (General Comics Questions Thread)
In this thread, ask any minor question that doesn't really deserve its own thread. Stuff like "Who is Bruce Banner's best friend?" or "What issue does Batman die in?"
Why don't we have the new comics thread on Tuesday? I hear about a lot of people who forget comics when making their weekly trip and that may help with that. I for one would like to plan out what I'm getting and discuss what we think the books are gonna be like.

I'll think about it, but I'm apt to forget. Send me a PM Tuesday night, maybe.
Geebs what did you think of the Endangered Species one shot
There were some neat moments but it was pretty boring.
I think they could have fit most of it into one of the X-books. There really was no reason for a special issue IMO.
I really liked the art. I asked before but never got an answer. What else has Scott Eaton done?
And while I certainly wasn't expecting the entire thing to focus on the funeral, I thought it got its point across in an effective manner, and I particular enjoyed the Xavier/Shaw, Scott/Logan, and Hank/Jaime conversations.
I'm cool with Rucka, I was just under the impression that he wasn't exactly liked. Didn't he also have something to do with Ted getting offed, or at least advocating it?

I don't know anynoe who dislikes Rucka other than the rampaging JLI legions.
I posted this in the last Whippy thread, but here goes again: Is Superman: Our Worlds at War any good? My LCS had a shedload of copies, which worries me a bit, but I'm tempted.
Iron Man: Hypervelocity is a mini-series that just finished, so it should be collected soon. It's an old-school Iron Man story with high-tech punching and lots of military-type acronyms and impressive-sounding weaponry. It's written by Adam Warren, who is awesome, but the art is only pretty good (Warren does the layouts but not the finishes, which is a shame, as Warren is a fantastic artist). Worth checking out.

He makes up one of three people that won't let Ted be resurrected while they still work at DC, and made some pretty retarded "Hurhur we killeds thems hurrr," jokes about the JLI, which I always find annoying. So yeah, fuck Rucka right in his ear. I also dislike his habit of only writing protagonists that are tough-talkin', hard-drinkin' women that can like, totally roll with the boys. Between Q&C, OMAC, 52, GCPD, Checkmate, and his introduction of Sasha into the Batman series, it became kind of annoying. Though I still enjoy his work on Gotham Central and Wonder Woman.
Seriously, Nightwing is almost Shakespearian now compared to OYL... and even when it isn't compared to OYL its gotten pretty good.
The Bride and Groom arc was a lot better then I thought it would be.

'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
Every reference I see to Hank Pym suggests that he's kind of lame. Is he kind of lame?
beating women is very lame
Didn't he do it once?
I mean, we hate Pym for one thing he did one time with one writer, but we don't have every other super-hero for equally messed up stuff that they did repeatedly?
Rogers said racist/sexist stuff constantly until he was frozen. Stark, Reed and others have caused countless deaths. Wolverine...god, he's murdered thousands at least. The list just goes on and on.
Spouse abuse is beyond f'ed up, no doubt, but why is it that people latch onto it so much more than the murder, etc. that everyone else did/does?
Same reason everyone latches onto "Where's my money, honey?", probably - that one iconic, unforgettable moment that may not give you an insight into the character, but by heavens you'll remember it.

Why did you do that
Yeah, only with greater diversity and female directors that aren't total cunts.
Also has more Judomaster and murdering of Kobra initiates.
If you can get past the whole hating Rucka thing it's a pretty stable book.
Edit: I am contributing to this thread
I like Rucka well enough, but hate what he did with the Question.

I know, that's why I'm looking, are there any trades for the earlier issues out?
I have a theory that I might not like Rucka.

I guess you've never heard of Amanda Waller.
